Chapter 1313: Betrayed (2)

As time progresses, dawn is about to break, and Zhou Chengchen finally falls asleep.

When she opens her eyes again, the space beside her is empty, and Xi Siyan is nowhere to be found.

She steps out of the bedroom, goes downstairs, and sees breakfast prepared on the dining table, but there’s no one in the house. By the entrance, Xi Siyan’s slippers are quietly placed.

Zhou Chengchen ruffles her hair, heads back upstairs to wash up, and while she still has a toothbrush in her mouth, her phone rings. She picks it up to see it’s Xiao Rou.

Having just learned yesterday that her brother actually likes Xiao Rou, seeing Xiao Rou’s name now, Zhou Chengchen can’t help feeling a bit dazed, but she quickly answers: "Xiao..."

Speaking with the toothbrush in her mouth, her words are a bit mumbled, but before she can finish, Xiao Rou’s sobbing voice comes through.

"Cheng Chen..."

Zhou Chengchen is taken aback, quickly rinses her mouth, and her voice clears: "Little Rou’er? What’s wrong?"

"Cheng Chen, I’m at the hospital now."

"Hospital?"

Zhou Chengchen doesn’t ask for details, changes her clothes, and rushes out, while on the phone Xiao Rou is speaking incoherently, making it hard to understand what she’s saying.

When Zhou Chengchen reaches the hospital, she finds not only Xiao Rou but also Xi Siyan, Liu Xiaoyu, and even Guo Yue are there.

Guo Yue’s eyes are slightly red, while Xiao Rou is standing several meters away, her eyes welled up with water; the usually gentle person now looks like a frightened little bird.

And at this moment, Liu Xiaoyu draws the most attention. He sits on a chair in the hospital corridor, with a bandage on his forehead, a bruise at the corner of his mouth, his eyes swollen, and bandages on his hand.

Zhou Chengchen momentarily ignores Xiao Rou over there: "What on earth happened?"

Xi Siyan sees her and frowns slightly, but doesn’t say much.

Liu Xiaoyu hangs his head low, while Guo Yue suddenly turns to look at Xiao Rou, walks over in a few strides, and says: "Tell him, I will never let him get away with it."

The corridor is not too quiet, but Guo Yue’s clear and cold words reach Zhou Chengchen’s ears clearly. Zhou Chengchen becomes even more bewildered and heads towards Xiao Rou, but Xiao Rou suddenly turns and runs off, as if trying to escape from something.

"We’re leaving first. Take good care of him."

Xi Siyan comes over, but the words are directed at Guo Yue.

Zhou Chengchen turns to look at him; over there, Liu Xiaoyu has already gotten up, his face that used to look quite clean now appearing ghastly, with a look full of complex emotions in his unswollen eye.

"Great master, I..."

"Take a good rest first; your health is the foundation of everything."

Xi Siyan doesn’t say much more, pulls Zhou Chengchen by the hand, and leaves.

As they leave the hospital, they just happen to see Xiao Rou jumping into a taxi and speeding away.

Zhou Chengchen grits her teeth: "What’s going on? Are you still trying to hide it from me?"

Xi Siyan moves his lips, pulls Zhou Chengchen into the car, and only then speaks: "Didn’t Liu Xiaoyu already tell you?"

"He said you were betrayed, and something about code leaks. I don’t really understand, I know it’s serious, but why was he beaten?"

Xi Siyan looks ahead, his once aloof face towards others but gentle to her, for the first time showing a look of disappointment Zhou Chengchen had never seen.
