Chapter 79: Chapter 78: The Overbearing CEO’s Little Wildcat 19

Lu Youheng patted Second Lu’s head and said gently, "Grandma will go back with you, and Dad will arrange for plenty of bodyguards. You don’t need to worry."

"You don’t have to, Dad. The Lu Family’s assets are all in good shape and easy to handle. It’s okay even if you’re not there to deal with it."

Eldest Lu looked confident. He had spent the past year getting a rough grasp of the family’s assets and knew that the Lu Family had almost no non-performing assets.

"You’re still so little. What could you possibly know?"

Lu Youheng let out a chuckle. Eldest Lu always had a shrewd look about him, just like an investor from Financial Street.

"Dad, I just know. I also know that the building you work in now is a hot commodity for major companies all over the world. If you just say the word, people will be lining up to take it over."

Eldest Lu went on to list several real estate properties and the family’s industrial layout. At first, Lu Youheng thought his son was just trying to humor him, but the more he heard, the more shocked he became.

"Who taught you all this?"

Lu Youheng stared at Eldest Lu with a serious expression, his intense gaze making the little boy flinch.

"Uh... I figured it out from looking through the documents and books you keep in the study."

Eldest Lu knew how to read, something Ji Xiaosong had taught him.

All three children in the family were precocious; they could learn anything after seeing it just once.

Lu Youheng had always known his three children were smart, but he’d never imagined they were this gifted.

"You figured all this out just by looking at some books and documents?" Lu Youheng was still a bit incredulous.

"Of course! I even helped Uncle Wu make a lot of money today. If you don’t believe me, go check when you get back to the office."

The more Eldest Lu spoke, the more excited he became, wishing he could show Lu Youheng his accomplishments right away.

"Dad will look into it. However, the handover for my work here will take at least a week. If you plan to wait and leave with me, you shouldn’t go out for the next few days. After all, the situation with the kidnappers isn’t resolved yet. It’s better for us to be cautious."

"Okay, Dad. You be careful too."

Eldest Lu, Second Lu, and Third Lu lined up to give Lu Youheng a hug. Finally, Lu Youheng hugged Ji Xiaosong.

"I’m going back to the office to handle some work now. You and the kids can spend the next few days packing up our things at home. If you like the housekeepers, you can bring them back to the country with us."

"Don’t worry. Leave the house to me, and you don’t need to worry about the children’s safety either."

Lu Youheng gazed into Ji Xiaosong’s eyes, his own filled with trust and tenderness. Then, he leaned down slightly and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Seeing this, Eldest Lu grinned and ran over, tugging on Lu Youheng’s sleeve. In a childish voice, he said, "Dad, you can go to work without any worries! I’ll help Mom take care of my little brothers. I’m a little man now!"

As he spoke, he even puffed out his chest, putting on the air of a little adult.

Not to be outdone, Second Lu scurried over on his short legs, waving his little hands. "I’ll help too! I can put away all the toys so I won’t cause Mom any trouble!"

The youngest, Third Lu, blinked his big eyes. "Me too!"

Looking at his three adorable children, Lu Youheng crouched down again and pulled all three of them into a hug, saying softly, "Okay. Dad believes in you."

After seeing Lu Youheng off, Ji Xiaosong breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mom, do you think Dad will find out you’re a little immortal and that you can fly?"

Eldest Lu furrowed his little brow, a worried look on his face.

"Do you want Dad to know?"

Ji Xiaosong pulled Eldest Lu into her arms and asked gently.

"I don’t know if I want him to know, because I’m worried he’ll be scared. If Dad finds out on his own, are you going to admit it, Mom?"

"He won’t find out, because his mind probably won’t even go there. This is an age of technology. Metaphysical things are too remote and don’t seem real."

"But Dad might really get suspicious."

"If it really gets to a point where I can’t hide it anymore, Mom will reveal just a little bit."

Ji Xiaosong wasn’t worried that Lu Youheng would try to harm her. In the two years they had been together, she had come to see his true character.

Lu Youheng was shrewd in business, but his long-term success was built on his solid integrity, which earned him the trust of his partners.

Besides, they had seven children together. The Lu Family placed such a high value on heirs that, even for the children’s sake, they would never do anything to her, their mother.

"Mom, don’t worry. The three of us will definitely be on your side."

Eldest Lu patted Ji Xiaosong’s shoulder, and Second Lu and Third Lu nodded in agreement.

"That’s right, Mom. You’re our priority."

’They really are my own flesh and blood.’ Ji Xiaosong hugged her three children, the smile on her face growing wider.

The first thing Lu Youheng did when he got back to the company was pull up all the surveillance footage. It wasn’t that he suspected Ji Xiaosong had anything to do with the kidnappers; rather, his thoughts drifted back to the first night she had suddenly appeared in his room.

’How could she have entered my room as if waltzing into an unguarded space, despite such tight security?’

’And how did she manage to get to J Country so easily, and even buy a villa?’

He hadn’t asked before because he felt none of it was important.

’As long as the woman’s background was clean and she had given him three smart, adorable sons, he could overlook it.’

’But it seemed his wife had some kind of hidden identity, and her abilities were not to be underestimated.’

’Thinking of the three sons they already had, plus the four unborn children she was carrying, he knew he should give her more trust.’

Lu Youheng reviewed all the surveillance footage alone in the monitoring room. On the first pass, he found nothing out of the ordinary.

He didn’t believe it, thinking he must have missed something.

So he checked a second time, then a third...

Finally, on his tenth review, he saw the image of Ji Xiaosong riding the clouds and mist.

Lu Youheng shot up from his chair. His eyes flew wide, his mouth fell open, and his face was a mask of pure astonishment.

"How... How is this possible?"

His voice was hoarse and trembling as he squeezed out those few words in a low murmur, as if asking himself.

He blinked hard and looked again. Ji Xiaosong was really floating gracefully in mid-air, her clothes fluttering in the wind as she moved swiftly in one direction.

Lu Youheng’s mind went completely blank with a BUZZ. He was utterly dumbfounded.

"So, my wife can actually fly..."

A moment later, Lu Youheng seemed to have accepted this fact.

He slowly sat back down and calmly deleted all the footage of Ji Xiaosong riding the clouds. To be safe, he even extracted all related recordings from that day, making it impossible for anyone else to investigate.

’Ji Xiaosong was his wife, the mother of his children, and the person who would spend the rest of her life with him.’

’No matter what abilities she had, whether she was human or immortal, she was his.’

Just as he finished, the door to the monitoring room suddenly swung open.
