Chapter 1553: There’s Some Rumours Now

"I feel like you haven’t been spending as much time with us recently," Lisa huffed.

I looked up from where I was practising my magic to give my Infrid lover who had been busy with working her alchemy a pointed look.

"What are you even talking about? Don’t we still sleep together every night?" I pointed out.

She waved her hand in my direction, "Yes, but outside of our night time activities, we don’t do anything else together."

I pouted at her, "I literally went out to eat with you earlier... And I’m spending time with you right now, aren’t I?"

She giggled, "Ehehehe~ That’s true~ That was fun~ And you’re here because everyone else is having lessons so you’re hanging out with me because there’s no one else~"

I rolled my eyes, "If you want to spend more time with me, you can just say so, you know?"

Lisa went back to preparing her potion with a mischievous smile on her face, "Oh, but that won’t be interesting now, would it? The anticipation and surprise is what makes things interesting. So feel free to just come up behind me and thrust straight into me, Aster!"

I had to pat myself on the back for managing to keep my poker face despite what she said.

I should have known she just wanted me to bang her again...

Deciding to ignore her, I went right back to focusing on my spell again, where I was in the midst of trying out different combinations of merging different elements together.

I figured that since [Big Bang] was such a success, there might be different combinations I could use to create even more spells.

After all, I have proficiency in so many different elements so I might as well take advantage of that, right?

I would also be able to train multiple different elements at the same time which would be more efficient than just doing it one by one.

Lisa seemed to be unsatisfied that I was actually ignoring her so she gave up on her own project and strutted over to me.

"Oh come on, is that magic more interesting than I am, Aster?"

I gave her a pointed look, "Aren’t you supposed to be working on your potion for your class assignment?"

"Mmm~ You can’t expect me to concentrate with you here, right?"

"I know for a fact that you can if you wanted to. Is the assignment not that important?"

"Ehehehe~ I’m already done, Aster. I just needed an excuse to have you start pounding me from behind~"

Of course she did...

She skipped over to lean on my shoulder, pressing her chest close to me, "So what are you doing?"

I pushed away from the table to let her sit on my lap, pulling her close to cuddle with me, "I told you girls about my new spell, right?"

She tilted her head, "The one that combines a lot of elements together to explode, right? What about it?"

"Well... I figured since that worked, I might as well figure out more combinations for the elements that I am proficient with to come up with new spells."

Lisa rubbed her cheek against mine, "Eh? You still want more, Aster? Didn’t you already come up with multiple variations to that same spell anyway? Not only that, you’ve also increased your proficiency in multiple different elements at once, right?"

I gave her cheek a kiss, "Mmm... Well, that’s what we’re here for, isn’t it? We’re supposed to be constantly pushing boundaries and improving ourselves. Why would I be satisfied now? This is actually the prime time to improve myself while I’m still riding on this high."

"Mmm... I can ride you anytime, Aster~ Just say the word~" Lisa giggled, giving my cheek a lick.

Ok, I guess I walked into that one myself so that was on me...

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... Anyway, as I was saying... I still have room to improve so I shouldn’t stop here."

Lisa giggled, "Ehehehe~ Do you know that our fellow school mates are saying a lot of things about you now?"

"I’m pretty sure they were already doing that even before this happened..."

"Ehehehe~ That is true~ But this time they are actually moving in a different direction with what they are saying~"

"A different direction? What does that mean?"

"Well... News that you have increased your proficiency with seven different magic skills have already spread throughout the entire school so... They were calling you a monster before but now there are people who are saying that you might be a chosen of the Gods instead."

I blinked at her, which she then took advantage of by kissing me on the lips unashamedly.

I kissed her back instinctively, enjoying the taste of her mouth for a moment before pulling back.

"Wait. What do you mean that they think I’m a chosen of the gods? How did they even arrive at that conclusion?!"

She giggled again, "Ehehehe~ It’s not really that big of a stretch for them to think so, Aster. Like... Think about it. What kind of people would be able to learn so many different forms of magic in such a short amount of time?"

"A... Prodigy?"

"Mmm~ Even prodigies would need to take time for them to reach your current level, Aster. Realistically."

"Err... Another Off-Worlder?"

"Assuming that they don’t know about Off-Worlders."

I grimaced, "Then someone blessed by the gods..."

"That’s right~ Ehehehe~ Some of them were already suggesting that you might have been blessed by Goddess Isre herself~"

"Well... That’s not completely wrong... But I guess that sentiment isn’t good for us?"

Now it was Lisa’s turn to look surprised as she tilted her head at me, "Why would that not be good?"

"Aren’t we supposed to be villains here? If people start saying that I’m blessed by the gods, that would make it harder for me to be a villain, right?"

Lisa blinked at me a few times like she needed a moment to comprehend what I said before she finally responded.

"We can still do that even if that is true, Aster... Why would you think that would stop us?"

"I mean... If we were chosen by the gods... That means we would need to be on our best behaviour or else we might shame them or something?"

She smiled and gave me another kiss before pulling back, "You don’t need to worry about that, Aster~ I’m sure the Gods wouldn’t mind that you just proceed as normal. If they had a problem with what you’re doing, they would have told you so long ago, don’t you think?"

I mean... That’s when I wasn’t publicly recognised as someone who has been blessed or was associated with them though...

So maybe they might not want to be associated with me anymore if they see me being a villain?

As though reading my mind, Lisa giggled and cuddled her face against mine, "Ehehehe~ You are so cute, Aster~ The Gods won’t care about something as insignificant as this~ Besides, I think they would be very entertained by you instead. And it’s not like we have confirmed this either, it’s just rumours that have been floating around."

"And what will happen if we allow that rumour to propagate?"

"Well, if we don’t confirm anything, they will make up even more things on their own anyway. There’s already other rumours where some students are suggesting that you might be a demon or you made a deal with demons, but apparently that rumour isn’t as popular as the one where you are a chosen one of the Gods."

I blinked at her, "I mean... I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that there would be rumours like that... But why is this one less popular?"

"Well... You are an apprentice of the Chancellor herself, so it’s more possible that you are on the Godly side of things instead of the demonic side of things."

Hmm... I’m sure that most people don’t know that she’s a Comissar so maybe they see her as someone really religious or something. So if I was associated with her, then by extension, I should be related to the gods as well?

But then again, those are just rumours so they could just be made up with no basis in mind.

"Should we do anything to control the narrative then?" I asked.

Lisa pulled back slightly and grinned at me, "Oh~ What do you want the narrative to be? Maybe... That you are so close to the Gods that you’re fucking them?"

I flicked her on the forehead, causing her to let out a yelp of pain.

"I was thinking... Since I need to be seen as a villain... Wait... Hmm... Actually, what do you think will happen if we start our own rumour that I’m the only child of the Nilm Family?"

I mean... That wouldn’t even be a lie but people would probably not believe it anyway so... Should we do that?
