Chapter 1288: Ma! I Came To Visit!

We found the city’s Grey Walker guild the next morning and requested to be teleported towards Crown Capital City.

While they had a Guild here, the Waystone that they would be using to teleport us was located a distance away from the capital city and we had to travel for half a day before we managed to reach it.

Incidentally, from their explanation, I learned that this would be a one way trip as the Waystone here is also affected by the Tree of Life’s enchantment in hiding this place. So Grey Walkers would only be able to teleport to another Waystone closer to one of the other Trasif cities but not this one.

Basically, you can leave this area using the Waystone but you won’t be able to come back through this one.

That made things a little troublesome for us but I guess it’s still better than making the entire journey here again so we’ll just have to deal with it.

Worse comes to worse… I could just ask Mother for help I guess?

We reached the Waystone and entered the In-Between Planes easily enough.

At this point, things were going so smoothly that I half expected some monster to appear during our traversal through the In-Between Planes.

While we did see some creatures hovering through the air above us, none of them bothered us so we managed to reach the exit gate safely.

We popped out outside the gates of the capital city and I was hit with a sudden sense of nostalgia as I beheld the city that I had been living in for so long.

The feeling of coming home after a really long trip really hit me hard here.

We entered the city and headed directly on the path home.

Even though I knew we weren’t exactly gone for long, I was still trying to see if anything changed about the city after we had left.

From what I can see, it doesn’t look like much has changed. The stores that I remembered seeing were still there and the overall atmosphere was still the same. It’s almost like we never left.

That was a little reassuring and also a little melancholic at the same time.

As I moved from Commoner’s District towards the Noble District, I also realised just how different each city in the World was.

I had literally just come from a city where the people lived in giant trees and it was basically plants in every direction that you looked at with their tree buildings having no organisation on where they were placed, just like an actual forest.

Yet here, everything was made out of brick and mortar and they were arranged in neat, straight rows with paved roads going in between them.

Each of them had their own charms and showed off their culture and history.

I was still stuck in my thoughts when the familiar gate of my family’s mansion came into view.

I then wondered if Mother was even home as she could very likely be somewhere else on a business trip or something.

The gates opened on their own as I got close to it and a single voice called out from the back of my party.

“Umm… What are we doing here?”

Everyone turned to look back, realising it was Minnera who had raised the question.

I was about to ask what she was talking about when I suddenly realised something.

I gasped, “Oh… Have I not actually told you about my real background?”

She blinked at me, “Eh? I believe you did mention about you being a noble or– Ah… Is this your real home?”

I nodded, “This is the Nilm Family’s manor. More specifically, my family home.”

She looked around the place for a moment before turning back to me, “Aster… Are you actually really rich?”

Emilia answered her question before I could, “Yes.”

Err… I was going to say that it was my family that was rich while I’m not. It’s two different things ok?

But well… I kind of forget that Emilia basically sees all of the businesses that she does are basically mine so whatever assets she has are also mine so I can be considered rich?

Minnera tilted her head, “Your family… If I recall correctly… Is called the Nilm Family, right?”

“That’s right,” I confirmed, continuing to lead the way into the mansion itself.

“I see… Hmm… What does your family do?”

“Err… That’s a good question. I guess you could say we do security and err… House cleaning? I guess?”

She raised an eyebrow at me but chose not to say anything.

We reached the front doors of the main building and the doors opened when we stepped right up to it.

Inside were two rows of maids and servants all lined up on each side, their heads bowing the moment I stepped inside.

“Welcome home, Young Mistress,” All of them spoke at the same time.

I didn’t get to react to this because the next moment I knew, I was pulled into a hug and my face was stuffed in between a pair of boobs that completely wrapped around my head.

She smiled at me and she pulled me in closer to her.

I let her do whatever she wanted for now until she turned her attention to my girls while still carrying me in her arms.

It was funny to see her standing over Minnera and with her towering height, Minnera does look like a child from up here.

Ah… I kind of expected that… And my girls also understood so no one raised any complaints.

She then gestured towards the inside of the house, “Now, now~ You’ve just come home so go and put down your things and relax! It’s been so long since you’ve been here and there’s a lot of people that missed you!”

I cleared my throat, “Ahem… Mommy? We actually have a reason to come back this time…”

“Oh, I already know, my little one~ You’re after those naughty merchants who thought they could destroy the Tree of Life to get themselves more Trasif slaves~ How silly of them~ While you could go and storm their houses right now to catch them all, Mama has a proposal for you if you would like to listen?”

I’m not surprised that Mother already knew about it but her suggestion caught my attention so I nodded at her to go ahead.

“In just a few days, little Justi will be holding an event at the Royal Palace and they will also be attending that event~ You can get them then and send a clear message to the others that are part of the group not to step out of line~”

“That… Actually sounds a little scary…” I admitted.

I didn’t get a say in that matter as she turned around and started carrying me in the direction of the bath.
