Chapter 1217: There’s More Hideouts

Hmm… I have to say… They have interesting torture methods…

After that guy got resurrected, he was still unconscious so they carried him to another room where they strapped him to a chair before splashing water on him to wake him up.

There was another group of people there which I assumed were the torturers and they surrounded him as the prince started asking him questions.

None of them even questioned why I was there which made me think they were specifically instructed not to.

Or… As torturers, they weren’t supposed to question anyone else to begin with.

He was obviously uncooperative at first, but then the torturers got to work on him as they started cutting him up expertly.

And the reason why I said ’expertly’ was because despite slicing him up and, judging by how hard he was screaming, causing him a lot of pain, he barely bled from his cuts.

When he finally realised that he had no way out and his only reprieve was for the prince to allow him to die after giving him the information he wanted, he started blabbering out names of who else were involved.

I thought that was it until the prince went up to slap him across the face before punching him in the stomach.

“Lie to me one more time and I will keep you here as a punching bag even after you’ve given us what we want,” Prince Hisami threatened.

Huh… How did he know that he was lying?

Was it some skill of his or is there something here that will show that he’s lying? Now I’m trying to remember if I lied to him during any of our conversations…

The guy groaned in pain before the prince pulled him up by his hair to growl at him.

“I ask again… Where are the other hideouts? We know you still have enclaves around the country!”

“I… I don’t know… I really don’t…”

“But you know who within your organisation knows! Give me their names!”

He groaned and tried to pull himself free, doing his best to avoid answering the prince.

The prince shoved him away and he almost tipped him over on his chair before he swung back to land on the ground.

The torturers moved in again and started cutting him once more, eliciting screams from him as he squirmed and begged for mercy.

That continued on for a few more minutes until his body was cut all over and the prince asked his question again.

He gave out a few more names and this time, the prince didn’t slap him so I assume that he was telling the truth.

The prince then asked who else amongst the nobles were involved and he also started giving out names which someone started writing down.

I was a little confused by that question because I’m pretty sure we’ve already given him all those names and it sounds like he’s also listing off the same names as well.

But when the prince received the list of names from the guy writing them down, he sneered at the minister, “Are you sure that’s all?”

“That is everyone, I swear!”

“What about Hitomi? Did you forget about her? And Satahoshi? And Omon? Did you forget about them as well?”

The minister’s eyes went wide, “How… No… Who are they? I… I don’t know them…”

Prince Hisami took out his sword and stabbed it through the minister’s thigh, eliciting another scream.

“I think… I will just keep you alive after all. Seeing that you have been so uncooperative, I don’t really see any reason to just give you what you want either.”

His eyes widened, “Wait! Wait!! I… I just forgot about them! Please believe me! I… I promise I’ll do my best to remember next time!”

“Really now? Why don’t you give me the list of names again and I’ll decide after you do?”

He quickly recited all the names again and this time did not leave a single name out.

“And who should I find to know where all the enclaves are?”

The minister hesitated but at this point I guess he figured that it would be better for him to just tell the truth so he started listing more names and even volunteered the information on where to find them.

The prince nodded, “Thank you for your cooperation.”

He then took his sword again and slashed it through the minister’s neck, decapitating him with one slash.

The minister’s head toppled onto the ground with a soft thud, blood gushing out from his neck to pool onto the ground.

Prince Hisami turned to me while cleaning his sword with a cloth, “Lady Aster… As you might have heard, they still have enclaves that are located around the country. I fear that for our contract to be fulfilled, you would have to destroy them as well. Since on the contract, it does state that you will completely eradicate them.”

I nodded, “I understand. Let me have the list of names that you got from him and I’ll deal with it.”

He handed the paper to me without question and I took a gander over it before folding it neatly and storing it in my bangle.
