Chapter 1043 - 1043: Weapon For Odeta?
When the T-Rex was defeated, the Velociraptors all gathered together in a group again and I thought we would have to fight them next.
But the leader raised up its head and let out a few shrill cries before it lowered its head to look at me again.
It then gave me a curt nod before it turned around and ran off, the rest of its pack following behind it.
Not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed that it left like that because I thought I might be able to tame it or something.
The thought of using the Monster Girl Stone even came to me but I decided not to use it in the end since I still haven’t hatched the first egg and… No offense but, its stats weren’t that great either…
I turned to the rest of my girls to find them already cutting up the T-Rex for its parts and this time my Shadow Guards were also helping them so this should be done pretty quickly.
And since the Velociraptors also ran off without taking its dead comrades along, we were also cutting them up too.
Hey, it would have been a waste of materials if we didn’t do it and they would have been eaten or just left to dissipate anyway.
Oh, one thing I did notice was that the swords remained after killing the dinos but the longsword we got from the Carno and the chainsaws from the T-Rex was obviously not Mahun sized so we wouldn’t be able to use them.
The swords that the Velociraptors used however, were definitely Mahun sized so we might be able to use or sell them.
That reminds me…
As the girls were working, I went over to Odeta who was busy pulling out the talons from the dinos, my Amrap giving me a hearty greeting when she saw me.
“Sister Aster! That was an awesome fight wasn’t it? Wahahaha!”
“Yeah it was. I think that was really cool.”
“Wahahaha! Definitely! Sister Aster was cool the entire time!”
“Right, that’s what I want to ask though. Do you want to take one of the weapons for yourself? Or maybe I could get you a weapon for you to use?”
Odeta tilted her head at me, “This is because of how I struggled against the monster from before, isn’t it?”
“Kind of… I mean, you fight in close combat but you are unarmed…”
She smirked and raised both of her arms that were bloodied from dissecting the T-Rex, “Unarmed? I have two arms right here!”
I rolled my eyes, “You know what I mean, Odeta.”
“Wahahaha! I know, Sister Aster! But to be honest, I don’t feel there’s any weapon that is suitable for me! I’ve tried a few and they all felt more like hindrances and I can’t fight to my full potential, that’s why I don’t use them!”
“Didn’t you used to fight with a sword or something?” I pointed out.
“Wahaha! That’s what I was talking about, Sister Aster! It felt like the sword was holding me back instead! That’s why I stopped using one!”
Last I remembered… She even trained her skill in swords to tier two as well. So for her to say that, I guess she must be serious about it.
I scratched my chin, “Hmm… In that case… Maybe we should make you like… A pair of gauntlets or something? Something that would allow you to block even blades without harming your hands?”
She grinned at me, “As long as they don’t weigh me down, Sister Aster. But I have a better solution for that problem!”
“Oh? You do? What is it?”
“Wahahaha! I just need to toughen myself up to the point that I am able to block blades with my body! Then there wouldn’t be any problem!!”
Figured Odeta would say something like that…
But if I had to be honest… I actually believe that she could do that.
I sighed, “Well… I’ll still try to see if I can find a pair of gauntlets for you in the mean–“
“Ohhhh~ Is Boss looking to buy something?!” Emilia asked, my Nekomata lover popping up beside me without warning.
I wasn’t really too surprised by her appearance but more surprised that she might be suggesting that she could have the item I’m looking for.
“Yeah. I was thinking of getting Odeta some gauntlets or something to help her fight armed opponents. Since she doesn’t really have any defence against armed opponents right now and she fights better without weapons. Do you know anything like that?”
The Nekomata pondered for a moment, “Hmm.. Hmm… Honestly, we could probably get someone to craft something like that for us? We do have a lot of monster materials but we just need someone who is able to use them to make something like that… We have dragon materials too, don’t we? Maybe something made using the dragon bones…”
Odeta quickly interjected, “I won’t use anything heavy. And if it’s too thick, I wouldn’t be able to grapple my opponents easily either so I don’t want that.”
“Hmm… Hmm… Yeah, this is a little difficult… I’ll have to see if I can consult some of my contacts for this.”
“Wahahaha! It’s no big deal! I just need to train myself to be stronger and everything will be fine!” Odeta laughed, thumping her chest proudly.
Emilia raised her eyebrow at me as though asking if I was fine with something like that so I just shrugged.
“Who knows? Maybe we might come across some treasure chest and it gives us a gauntlet that is perfect for Odeta?”
Emilia chuckled, “To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised that it happens now that you said it, Boss.”
Well… Maybe that might happen if we completed this Dungeon and got it as a Dungeon clear reward, but since we’re not doing that, I don’t think we would get one.
“Is there a place where the best smiths gather or something? Wait, that would be in Frostiminir Kingdom, Wouldn’t it?” I asked.
Emilia shrugged, “That’s the general consensus I suppose. Though I would say it’s more because most of the smiths come from there which is why they are considered better smiths. But there are good smiths in other places too. And since our current route doesn’t take us there, it would be a pretty big detour if you want to head there, Boss.”
That is true… The dwarves, or rather, the Rejmars are located all the way to the north of here and our travel plans do not include travelling there.
“Maybe… We could find a Grey Walker to teleport us there for a short detour?” I suggested.
Emilia nodded, “That is possible I suppose? But it’s going to be pretty expensive though?”
“We should be able to pay it after selling all the stuff that we got from this Dungeon, right?”
Emilia turned to look back at the corpse of the dinos and her eyes changed into Crea symbols for a moment before she nodded at me.
“Ehehehe~ Most definitely~ This is going to make us so much Creas~”
Odeta let out a grunt right then, “Bah! You need not bother with this, Sister Aster! I’ll figure this out on my own! You don’t need to worry about it!”
I huffed at her, “We might as well just go take a look alright?”
“Mmm… If that is what Sister Aster wants, I’m fine with it. Wahahaha!”
Well, I guess that’s settled then, we’re going to find ourselves a Grey Walker to teleport us to the Frostiminir Kingdom for a short trip.
Oh, in case you’re wondering why we aren’t doing that to get us to the Nekinumi Kingdom, that’s because I want to experience the travel there itself.
But for this detour, it’s a different case so it’s fine~
“Alright! I guess we should finish up here and deal with the problem of this Dungeon before we go back to the city to find ourselves a Grey Walker to teleport us.”
The two of them looked back at the T-Rex that was already halfway through getting dismantled.
“Mmm… If you don’t mind, Boss… Is it alright if we… Maybe… Get a few more of these? Since there’s six of us, we might need more Creas especially if we’re going to return back here.”
Oh, that’s true, it’s a two way trip so we would have to pay the fee twice. Would be rather stupid if we end up teleporting there and then getting stuck there with no money to come back here and have to walk back instead.
I mean… I could probably just ask Mother for help in that case but it’ll be pretty lame that I immediately call Mother for help not even a month after leaving the house.
Ok, new plan. We first make our way to the stairs, then give those guys the warning… Then we come back here and kill more dinos!
Perfect plan!
