"Hold on!"

Bella Acker knew that when Damian Sinclair said he’d come to see her right away, he really would.

With no other options, Bella sighed and said, "I just encountered someone trying to extort money by swerving their car, but it’s already been resolved."

In the end, she didn’t tell the whole truth.

First, she didn’t want Damian to worry about her; second, their current relationship was too complicated to explain.

Damian paused; Bella heard a soft reminder from his secretary on the other end of the phone.

"President Sinclair, the meeting is starting."

Damian signaled for the secretary to head to the conference room and then asked, "Are you alright?"

"I’m fine. If I wasn’t, how would I be texting you from home?" Bella replied. "You go ahead and take care of your stuff, just send me your card number."

"Did you call the police?"

"I did. I even came back in a police car."

"Alright, I’ll treat you to dinner tonight," Damian said. "I need to start the meeting now. If anything comes up, feel free to text, call, or message me on WeChat."

"You signed up for WeChat?" Bella was a bit surprised.

Damian was such an old-school guy that he didn’t even use QQ, and now he registered for WeChat.

"Yeah, just made it. The account is linked to my personal phone number, add me," Damian said. "I’ll have Special Assistant Lawson book a restaurant for us, and you can bring Talia and Ethan. If your godmother isn’t on a date with Director Ford, invite her too."

"She’s my godmother, since when did you acknowledge her as your godmother?" Bella was speechless; this guy easily adapted to following along with her family dynamics.

"When you were filming," Damian said. "I’ll call you when I’m done. Remember to add me on WeChat."

"Got it, President Sinclair. You carry on with your work. I won’t disturb you any further," Bella said, chuckling a bit herself.

"Alright, you may leave," Damian’s smile also showed through, as he ended the call.

The secretary was waiting beside him, and as he finished the call, she quickly opened the conference room door.

Damian walked in, heading straight to the center position, saying, "Continue."

Meanwhile, Bella ended the call, still smiling.

She opened her WeChat and saw Sandra Woods ranting to Archer Quinn in their group chat, feeling cheerful, and typed, "What’s up? Still being chased around by that little guy?"

"Bella, you’re done with promotions?" Sandra immediately replied.

Archer sent a cute pat-on-the-head emoji.

"Just finished up today. You wouldn’t believe it, on my way out of the airport, I ran into some thugs who smashed my car."

After Bella sent that, seeing that neither replied immediately, she assumed they were busy. She then navigated to the contacts page, entered Damian’s phone number, and sent a friend request.

Damian’s WeChat name was just "J," and his Moments section was completely empty, nothing at all.

Bella browsed his profile, sent a friend request, and then returned to the chat page, only to find twelve new messages lighting up from their group chat.

Bella opened it to see Sandra and Archer’s messages, concerned about her well-being.

Smiling, Bella replied, "Don’t worry, I’m fine. But it seems like someone was targeting me intentionally this time, though I can’t confirm who yet."

Just as she finished sending that, Damian accepted her friend request.
