Chapter 737: Chapter 736: Conquering Her Heart (20)

Upon hearing this, Bella Acker was stunned, "Aunt Rhodes, you..."

Bella barely opened her mouth before Aunt Rhodes interrupted her nervously and cautiously, "Bella, I’ve already paid the money, and the transfer procedures can be completed once you return to Creston. I’ve never been able to give you anything over the years, this is just my small token of appreciation, I hope you won’t refuse."

In Creston, the house prices in Southgate District are the most expensive. A 120-square-meter house costs at least over two million. Aunt Rhodes has always been at home taking care of Bonnie, where did she get so much money?

Could it be from her current husband?

After thinking for a moment, Bella said, "Aunt Rhodes, I can’t accept this house. Ask the sales people at the office if you can get a refund, or you might as well put it back on the market for sale."

"Bella, why?" Aunt Rhodes asked in surprise.

"It’s too valuable," Bella spoke frankly, "I can’t accept such an expensive gift from you."

"Bella, are you worried that I took this money from home?" Aunt Rhodes quickly explained, "No, Bella. This is money I’ve earned myself, it has nothing to do with here. You might not know, I have my own investment company. Although it doesn’t make a lot of money, it’s enough to buy you some little things."

Bella really didn’t know Aunt Rhodes had her own company.

Aunt Rhodes continued, "Bella, don’t worry, I understand your concerns, and I won’t let you be tied to here. The reason I’ve bought this house for you is simply so that Bonnie and I can visit you and Talia a bit more easily and comfortably. Plus, I also want a home for Bonnie that’s stable and secure."

Bella couldn’t bear to reject her wish after she said that.

Bella sighed, "Alright, Aunt Rhodes. I can move in with Talia and Ethan, but the house should still be under your name, don’t transfer it to me. Otherwise, I won’t move in."

"Okay, okay, as long as you’re not upset." Aunt Rhodes hesitated for a moment, and tentatively asked, "Bella, when are you coming back for your break? I’ll cook for you at home."

"Work here is quite busy, so it may take more than a month before I can return. I’ll call you then..." Bella’s words were cut off by the voice of another young woman over the phone.

"Mom, who are you talking to? I heard you bought a house in Southgate a few days ago, is it intended as my birthday gift?"

"Nonsense, who told you that? Your birthday gift has long been prepared, I’m sure you’ll like it. Be good, mom’s on the phone here, go play on your own."

"Who are you talking to? Why so secretive?"

Suddenly, Bonnie’s somewhat silly voice chimed in, "Talking to sister, Bonnie can’t interrupt."

"Sister? What sister?"

Aunt Rhodes seemed to cover the receiver slightly, and Bella couldn’t hear very clearly. Soon the call was disconnected from the other side.

Listening to the busy signal on the phone, Bella frowned; she could tell the woman on the other end ended the conversation full of suspicion and dissatisfaction.

Judy Zimmerman noticed her change in expression and asked, "What’s wrong?"

"Nothing," Bella smiled, "Let’s go, take off the makeup and rest."

Bella didn’t think much about this little incident, but unexpectedly, someone came looking for her a few days later.
