Chapter 3206 - 3207: Challenger No. 2
Chapter 3206: Chapter 3207: Challenger No. 2
This last question pertains to Baba Ragon’s personal judgment, something Angel cannot influence, so it’s not necessary to consider it for now.
What’s most important now is to see Kukurus’ intention.
As Angel pondered how to speak with Kukurus, he descended from mid-air.
Just upon landing, before Angel could think of what to say, Kukurus stepped forward and asked, "That thing in the sky... what is it?"
"An instance, uh, what some call an immortal realm," Angel replied instinctively. "You must have heard of the immortal realm, right?"
Kukurus nodded, "I know a little, I’ve heard people mention it before."
Pausing briefly, Kukurus again spoke before Angel could ask, "I just heard people here say that the man in the black robe disappeared with Baba Ragon in mid-air. Now, there’s an immortal realm in mid-air, does that mean Baba Ragon is inside?"
Angel was still thinking about how to steer the conversation to Baba Ragon, but Kukurus mentioned it on his own.
From this, it was clear that Kukurus cared a lot about Baba Ragon.
Angel, too lazy to think of another way to phrase it, simply followed Kukurus’ words and replied, "I can’t be completely sure, but most likely... yes."
Angel then explained why he made this guess.
"I was just trying to enter that immortal realm in mid-air, but unfortunately, I seem to not meet the entrance conditions," Angel said, explaining along the way what the conditions for entering an immortal realm were.
Not all immortal realms can be entered directly; many have thresholds.
For instance, Silver Coral Island requires people who are ’kind and pure’ to enter; another example is—
"The entry condition for the Mist Isle Dragon Tomb is that non-dragons cannot enter," Angel said. "The Mist Isle Dragon Tomb is the name of that immortal realm in mid-air."
"So, dragons or dragon-kin can enter the immortal realm?" Kukurus seemed to catch a key point.
Angel nodded, "According to the information at the entrance, that’s the case."
Kukurus’ eyes lit up, "Since Baba Ragon can enter, then I should be able to enter as well?"
Upon hearing Kukurus’ words, Angel felt relieved. He didn’t even need to say anything, Kukurus volunteered to step up.
Moreover, from Kukurus’ tone, it seemed it was eager to enter the immortal realm to find Baba Ragon.
Although Angel was fully supportive in his heart, he outwardly showed a serious expression, "You probably can. However, I don’t recommend you go in."
Kukurus asked, "Why?"
Angel replied, "What I mean is, there’s no need to rush in now. Because the Mist Isle Dragon Tomb, this immortal realm, has just appeared recently, no one knows what dangers might be inside."
"Not all immortal realms are as safe as Silver Coral Island."
"For example, in Rabbit Town, there’s another immortal realm entrance, which connects to the malicious Mushroom World. From its appearance on the first day, it has swallowed an unknown number of new residents; although later, through everyone’s unity and cooperation, most of the new residents were rescued, there are still some trapped inside to this day."
"What kind of immortal realm is the Mist Isle Dragon Tomb? What’s inside? How dangerous is it? I can’t make any judgments on these questions," Angel continued, watching Kukurus. "Therefore, my suggestion is, before clarifying the situation inside the Dragon Tomb, it’s best not to act rashly."
Upon hearing the previous parts, Kukurus felt Angel had a point. But upon hearing the last sentence, Kukurus couldn’t sit still.
"What do you mean by clarifying the Dragon Tomb? Isn’t Baba Ragon the only dragon inside now? Do you mean to let it bear the responsibility of exploration?"
Angel silently nodded, "There’s no other choice. Baba Ragon has already fallen into the Dragon Tomb, so it can only take on this responsibility. We are quite helpless too..."
Kukurus furrowed its prominent brow, "Haven’t you thought that Baba Ragon might also encounter danger inside? What if it runs into trouble?"
Angel replied, "I’ve thought about it, but Baba Ragon is different from the indigenous people; it entered the Crystal Origin of Dreams through a log-in device. If it encounters danger, it can log off at any time."
Kukurus said, "If it can log off, so can I."
While Angel remained silent on the surface, inside, he gave a big thumbs up to Kukurus.
After a moment, Angel finally spoke, "Do you mean to say you also want to enter the Dragon Tomb?"
Kukurus nodded, "I can’t just watch Baba Ragon fall into danger."
Angel replied, "Whether or not there’s danger is not yet certain."
Kukurus said, "Regardless of whether there’s danger, I have to enter the Dragon Tomb... My trip here was originally to find it."
Angel pondered for a long time, then nodded slightly and with a hesitant tone said, "If you must go, I can help you enter the Dragon Tomb. But, I hope you agree to two of my requests."
Kukurus’ brow unconsciously furrowed. Typically it was the one making conditions for others, but now someone dared to make conditions for it?
Just as Kukurus felt a bit annoyed, Angel quickly spoke his first request:
"I feel that this Dragon Tomb immortal realm is not simple; it’s very likely to be extremely challenging. So, I hope if you meet Baba Ragon, you’ll team up with it for the challenge," Angel said. "Of course, if the Dragon Tomb proves to be simple, then just ignore what I said."
Kukurus had thought Angel would make unreasonable demands. If it was just teaming up with Baba Ragon, it would certainly be willing... The prerequisite being Baba Ragon’s willingness to team up with it.
"Besides that, Lord Kukurus should not forget that Luigi is still waiting for you outside. Our gathering here this time can’t take up all our time... So, I hope that after you have some initial exploratory information, you’ll log off once. To ensure safety, as well as to provide us with some intelligence about the inside of the Dragon Tomb."
Upon hearing Angel’s words, a hint of embarrassment flashed in Kukurus’ eyes.
If Angel hadn’t reminded it, it would have almost forgotten about Luigi.
The main thing was that the Crystal Origin of Dreams felt too real, coupled with having gained information about Baba Ragon, it completely neglected matters in reality.
Kukurus turned its head, softly coughed, "Angel’s two requests are reasonable... I can agree."
Angel smiled slightly, "Since that’s the case, then I’ll send you now..."
Angel’s words had just reached midpoint when a gentle female voice resonated, "I want to go too."
The speaker was Luskania.
Kukurus frowned, "You stay here, I’ll go alone."
"But... I also want to see Baba Ragon."
Kukurus said, "Listen to me..."
Kukurus, while comforting Luskania, pulled her aside as if whispering something confidential to her.
Seeing this, Angel deliberately stepped back a few steps, leaving space for this pair of Cave Dragon siblings.
About two minutes later, Kukurus and Luskania returned together. From their expressions, it was clear they had reached some kind of agreement.
"Angel, I heard you say earlier that there’s not much danger in Silver Coral Island, is that confirmed?" Luskania inquired.
Angel nodded, "As of now, that’s the case. Silver Coral Island only has a slightly risky Treasure Pagoda, but not to the extent of being dangerous, more like a comprehensive test. The rest of the island is quite safe."
Luskania asked, "Could I go in and have a look?"
Angel: "Of course, I believe Silver Coral Island won’t obstruct a lady’s entry."
Luskania nodded thoughtfully and stepped back without speaking further. Meanwhile, Kukurus explained for his sister: "In the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom, there are quite a few newly born young dragons who have been grounded, and those little guys can hardly hold back anymore. I thought, rather than let them sneak out, why not proactively choose a vast world for them? If possible, we hope to make this place a place where young dragons can broaden their horizons."
"However, I need to explore the Dragon Tomb and meet up with Baba Ragon. As for the investigation of the Crystal Origin of Dreams, it can only be entrusted to Luskania."
"I see..." Angel pretended to understand: "I believe Luigi would be very happy to know this. After all, his goal this time is to promote the log-in device."
Though Angel maintained a calm facade, his mind was a different scene. His initial idea was to use the beautiful vision of "liberating grounded young dragons" to open the market for Mirror Dragons.
Unexpectedly, Kukurus proposed this requirement on his own.
Of course, it’s possible Luigi had given Kukurus a heads-up in advance; but anyhow, as long as this point is seized, the promotion should be fine.
"Should I send you into the Dragon Tomb now?"
Kukurus nodded: "Yes."
Angel immediately manipulated the celestial alternation, attaching the wind element to Kukurus.
Kukurus had a deep understanding of wind elements; without needing Angel to say anything, he had already adjusted to the best posture, riding the wind into the sky.
"I hope you don’t linger, gather intelligence, and it’s best to go offline early." Angel finished his final words and then sent Kukurus to the entrance of the Mist Isle Dragon Tomb.
When Kukurus touched that ethereal entrance, a wave carrying complex information surged into his mind.
"Special Dreamland ’Mist Isle Dragon Tomb’ has been activated."
"Entry requirement for this special dream is: Dragon kind."
"Target fulfills entry requirements."
As the information appeared, Kukurus felt a sudden weightlessness around him, his body uncontrollable, seemingly sucked into a vortex.
This feeling of weightlessness lasted only about a second, and when he came to his senses, he was already standing on solid ground.
Kukurus slightly shook his head, tossing aside the chaotic thoughts, and began taking in the scenery of this "Immortal Realm."
Surrounding him was dense fog, visibility less than ten meters.
Underfoot was soft white sand, and not far away, a startled hermit crab quickly retreated into its little house behind it upon his sudden appearance.
Faintly hearing the sound of waves in his ears.
Turning around, he saw a hazy ocean.
"Here should be a beach by the sea." Kukurus quickly made a judgment, but he hesitated about what to do next.
"The name of this Immortal Realm is Mist Isle Dragon Tomb, not Mist Sea Dragon Tomb, so it shouldn’t be going toward the ocean but onto the island."
Kukurus muttered to himself and prepared to walk towards the island shrouded in thick fog.
After just a few steps, he stopped again. Because nearby, there seemed to be the sound of footsteps...
Was it Baba Ragon?
Kukurus quietly watched the mist, feeling a strange sense of hope.
However, it wasn’t Baba Ragon who appeared, but a figure cloaked in a dark robe.
"Unexpectedly, another Dragon Clan member has appeared today..." A deep voice with a hint of surprise: "After years of sealed Dragon Tomb, two Dragon Clan members arrive in one day; is it a sign of glory approaching?"
Kukurus: "Who are you? The other Dragon Clan member you mentioned, is it Baba Ragon? Where is it?"
The dark-robed figure stopped ten meters away from Kukurus, just at the limit of his visibility, surrounded by mist, looking quite mysterious: "I am the Tomb Guardian of the Mist Isle Dragon Tomb, you may call me... Shi Zhong."
"The other Dragon Clan member is currently undergoing the statue challenge on the island. Do you know it?"
Kukurus nodded: "I want to meet it."
Shi Zhong: "I can take you to meet it, but before that, you need to undergo a statue challenge."
"What challenge?"
Shi Zhong said indifferently: "You will know if you continue forward."
After speaking, Shi Zhong took a step back and vanished into the fog.
Kukurus hurried forward, wanting to catch up to Shi Zhong, but when he reached forward, he could no longer see Shi Zhong’s figure. All that remained was a stone path meandering into the depths of the island.
Kukurus glanced into the thick fog uncovering no hesitation, quickly setting foot onto the stone path.
In just half a minute, Kukurus reached the end of the stone path, where he again encountered Shi Zhong.
Shi Zhong still maintained the manner of a mysterious enigma.
He threw Kukurus a "Title—Dragon Tomb Challenger (No. 2)," then disappeared again.
At this moment, Kukurus was too lazy to worry about Shi Zhong’s whereabouts and instead quickly arrived at the site of the first statue challenge.
And the first statue he encountered was a giant sunflower facing the sun.
According to the Immortal Realm tips received, this sunflower was named—Dragon-Eating Sunflower.
...
Angel withdrew from the Box Garden Perspective, as there was nothing more to see.
He originally thought Kukurus would join forces with Baba Ragon after entering the Dragon Tomb to tackle the challenge, but now it seems he overestimated it.
Kukurus’s initial location entering the instance was slightly different from Baba Ragon.
At least two kilometers apart.
Which also means Kukurus’s first statue challenge isn’t the same as Baba Ragon’s; so teaming up to tackle is just a lavish thought.
This was indeed the case, Kukurus’s first statue challenge was the Dragon-Eating Sunflower.
Dragon-Eating Sunflower, Angel had neither heard of nor seen it before. However, its challenge was similar to that of the previous pink stork dragon, which was to drag people into an unknown consciousness space.
When Angel saw Kukurus standing still, he knew it had either succeeded in the challenge or failed to rest offline.
So, he stopped watching.
However, Angel was quite curious about the consciousness space challenge. What Kukurus’s challenge entails should be learned from Luigi when it goes offline.
