"Alright." Laine thought for a moment and found no issue; the choice of the Great Alchemist, personally taught by the Emperor, was both powerful and virtuous, meeting all requirements. Since Amelia considered it suitable, then it should be done that way.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the three sat on the sofa chairs in the room, Ollica stood by Laine's side, while Sylvia willingly took the two boys to play.

"I've already had Frederick recognize Emperor Carl Franz as his godfather." Amelia had been in Nuer for two years, the original youthful and pure expression on her face had faded, now appearing before Laine as a mature and beautiful Empire Countess, with a slight hint of authority, full of wisdom and charm. If it weren't for her gaze toward Laine filled with emotion, others might not connect the little maid with the current Empire Countess: "This is a compromise, Laine. Don't blame me."

"His Majesty the Emperor of the Empire requested it?" Laine smiled playfully.

"I requested it voluntarily." Amelia somewhat awkwardly adjusted the hem of her dress: "It's beneficial for Frederick's future and it's my compromise. You know, I don't trust the Empire nor the Emperor of the Empire; I only trust Carl Franz as a person. He needs me in this seat, so I'll sit."

"Then do you trust Laine?" Surya asked, the Duchess's sea-blue eyes focused on the sons of herself and Amelia.

They were building blocks.

"I only trust Laine Macado." Amelia replied with deep meaning: "I know what Laine intends to do coming to Brunswick at this time."

"I was merely invited to watch the competition, to see who will be the next Royal Chief Grand Wizard." Laine also revealed a smile.

Pausing slightly, Laine continued: "I thought you would support Lady of Nuer."

"From my standpoint, indeed." Amelia first nodded, then shook her head: "But now I support Geld, the Empire's Great Alchemist."

"Understood." Surya nodded, the Lady Knight hesitated before speaking: "We do as well."

"You can support whoever you wish, Surya Sister." Amelia gently caressed the golden ring on her left hand, and the Empire Countess smiled: "But I can't; if Lady Black wants to compete, I must support her, but Nuer has compromised, so I must compromise too."

"A little gift from Geld?" Laine murmured.

"A new gunpowder formula, a new engineering miracle, and an alliance with Amethyst Academy." Amelia sighed softly: "Enough to amaze those officers and professors from Nuer Gunpowder Academy, along with Lady Black, who has allied with Geld."

"Hmm..." Laine stood up, Duke of Musillon, the most powerful man in Brittania, stood at the window, frowning silently.

Amelia seemed similar to Laine; her three titles were substantial, while Laine's three noble titles were also.

Yet, she was fundamentally different from Laine.

Nuer merely needed a Countess to maintain the existing order, whereas Brittania's new order was crafted by Laine himself, and he had single-handedly eradicated the internal and external threats of the entire Kingdom.

Some matters, once the Nuer Armored Army and Lady of Nuer approved, Amelia had to approve.

But for Laine, it was not the same; he no longer needed to heed anyone's mood.

"Odo of Bright Academy received the support of Archbishop Vikma of the Justice Church, along with the Supreme Dean of Sky Academy, Supreme Nebula Master Skorn—the Radiant." Amelia shared the information she had gathered with Laine.

"The Great Alchemist Geld has won the support of Nuer Armored Army and Lady Elspeth, Dean of Amethyst Academy, while part of the Brunswick Army also supports him."

"The current Supreme Dean of Flame Academy, Sernus German, has received support from many lower-level troops, Supreme Dean Matak of Amber Academy, as well as Emerald Academy. In addition, the position of Shadow Academy remains unclear, although Shadow Mage is destined not to become the Royal Chief Grand Wizard. These individuals prefer blending into the common market, so their opinions need not be considered."

Traditionally, the role of Royal Chief Grand Wizard generally rotates among three academies: Bright Academy, Flame Academy, and Sky Academy. Regardless of which academy wins this position, it signifies gaining substantial resources, the Emperor's reliance, and the power to command the Imperial Army, also being historically the focal point of contention for Imperial Wizards.

Laine couldn't help but find humor in this, for Brittania was not like this at all.

"Who does Carl favor?" Laine continued to ask.

"Not very clear." Amelia shook her head: "At least until the Royal Chief Grand Wizard is elected, Carl Franz won't easily express his opinion. All I know is, he respects Odo, admires German, and relies on Geld."

"..." Laine thought that under the current circumstances, Geld's accession was naturally advantageous to him, yet he wasn't sure if Geld's strength could achieve domination.

Because electing the Royal Chief Grand Wizard isn't simply about competing in Magic Ability. Before Geld's rise, Alchemy Academy was arguably the most underpowered of the Eight Great Magic Academies, whereas Bright Academy is endowed with countless legacies from Tygris, the first Royal Chief Grand Wizard, Wolan, was also a Light Mage designated by Tygris.
