Chapter 70- Boredom Could Lead To Things

Rize rested for a while afterward, as he let his core regenerate all the lost essence he used. The pace at which his Core was generating it shocked Rize. Within an hour, he already felt like he had recovered 40% of the lost energy he spent.

For normal people, it would take at least 5 hours to be able to recover that much energy. What was clear to Rize was that he had an exceptional talent when it came to Essence. Not only did he have an immense amount, but it was also very High-Quality and quick to regenerate.

’It’s also improving my body considerably fast. I can feel like I’m getting stronger and faster with every passing second.’ Staring at his hands, Rize could see the flow of Essence as it coursed through his veins, fusing with every cell in his body at a rapid pace.

It was such a satisfying process to witness and feel. Having the ability to grow stronger by simply existing is a fantastical idea.

"Mmmm... What should I even do now?" Rize asked himself as he sat there. "I’m so bored."

He tapped his finger against the bedframe while staring at the ceiling with a confused look on his face. Rize had been on the move every single day of his life, so having moments to relax like this were so odd and new to him. They simply felt wrong.

He tossed and turned for a bit, thinking about the future and what he could do.

"Ugh, this is really not fun. I don’t want to sit around and do nothing." He muttered as he finally left the bed, put on his slippers and shirt, and then walked to the door. He then opened it and peeked outside.

The hall was completely empty and quiet, except for one person.

"Mr Rize. Is everything ok?" A butler was standing next to the door idly.

"Hm, yeah, I’m just going for a walk," Rize said.

"Sir, you’re still injured. You can’t move ar-"

"I’m fine. It’s not like I’m going to die." Rize replied as he closed the door behind him. "Feel free to go do something else."

"But, Her Highness told me..."

"Her Highness won’t do anything, don’t worry. I will tell her later." Rize said as he tapped the man’s shoulders and continued walking through the hall, leaving the flabbergasted butler staring at his back.

"Hm, hm, hm..."

For a while, Rize roamed the palace, checking places he had seen before and watching how the entire place functioned. It never ceases to amaze him how smoothly work goes in the palace. Every person knows what they want to do and how they do it, and it almost feels like a well-lubricated machine with no flaws.

With his hands in his pockets, Rize walked through the corridors, greeting every butler or maid he came across. They all gave him rather odd looks, but they knew who he was, so they had to show respect.

’I’m working for the princess herself. This is no joke.’ He thought to himself. ’I’m probably considered to be of high position in the palace.’

Nodding at his own words with a smile, Rize eventually ended up outside. The sun was still high in the sky as it was barely noon, and the weather was perfect and warm.

He stood there for a while, basking in the sun as he let his body relax.

"Yeah, this is much better," Rize said as he finally looked down to scan the area. The gardeners were working tediously, making every tree and bush look perfect while other maids and butlers were cleaning the rest of the ’front yard’.

’Good luck to all of you.’ He said as he waved at them and they waved back. Then, Rize looked farther ahead and finally saw something that caught his attention.

In the distance, he saw a group of people standing in the middle of the path that led to the exit from the palace. They were all clad in formal white attire. Rize instantly recognized them.

’The Royal Knights? What are they doing here?’ Rize frowned. ’They’re usually not in the palace as they have work to do.’

While naturally, there were many Royal Knights who guard the palace itself, Rize had already seen them positioned where they should be. Those standing there didn’t seem like they were there to guard the palace itself.

Curiously, Rize decided to go check it himself. However, to avoid being questioned, he simply took a different path through the garden as he got closer and closer to them.

As he got closer, however, he stopped as he felt something freeze his body for a second. The temperature of the area dropped a bit.

’Hm? What is this aura?’ He frowned as he looked at the group and instantly locked onto a particular person. A woman with midnight black hair who was talking to the group while they listened with respect.

Rize’s eyes squinted as he looked at her. ’She’s strong... Insanely strong. I can feel it in my body.’

He was certain that woman could erase him from existence if she wished to do it, and he would never have a chance against her.

’That black hair. No way it’s that person, right?’

A name popped into his head, and it made him even more curious. So, he decided to get closer. As he approached the group, he finally got a glimpse of the woman’s side silhouette, and his eyes widened slightly.

’It is her!’

"Yelena Kravik..."

Rize felt a chill run down his spine just uttering her name. Considered to be one of the most popular characters in ’Magus Of The Reverse World’ and also a powerhouse with immense accolades and achievements, she was akin to a legend in the story.

Seeing her in person was an experience that made Rize feel like he was almost star-struck. It didn’t help that she was a jaw-dropping beauty too.

It didn’t register in Rize’s mind that he was staring at her until moments later, when he shook his head. ’That woman is a demon. As cool as she is, I do not want to mess with her.’

Rize knew the things that woman did, and even if she was currently considered an ally on his side, he did NOT want to talk to her. She was a terrifying being.

"Keep an eye on all entrances to the city. Do full-body searches on every target you deem mildly suspicious. I do not want any intruders to enter the city. Understood?"

Rize heard her speak to the knights before she looked away. "You’re dismissed."

"Yes ma’am!!" They all greeted her before they scurried away in a hurry.

Rize instantly ducked behind the tree as he watched her walk away. ’She must be talking about the recent attacks. They’re going to tighten security around the borders. Not surprising considering the fact that these attackers were able to enter as if it was nothing.’

"I wonder what happened since I was brought back home. Did they find the intruders in that factory?" He whispered under his breath.

"We did. We killed most of them and took a few hostages with us."

"Oh, that’s good. I was worried they might escap- AAGH!!" Rize screamed when he heard someone speak behind him as he jumped back. "What the hell?!"

There, standing behind him was Yelena, staring at him coldly. The boy stared at her, his face paling visibly before he stared back at the spot where she was standing a second ago.

"How did you..."

"Do you even need to ask?" She raised an eyebrow.

"..." The boy blinked. "Fair point."

’She’s called the Royal Phantom for a damn reason.’
