Villain's POV: The Heroines Want Me!
Chapter 140- Dark Anger
Chapter 140: Chapter 140- Dark Anger
Chapter 140- Dark Anger
The two moved like a whirlwind, cutting through the corridors at horrifying speeds. To normal eyes, they both appeared like two ghosts, moving quickly past everything as if they were completely untouchable.
Rize used his essence to boost his speed even further, and that made him way faster than his target. One of the biggest advantages he had was the ridiculous amount of essence he had and its quality. Since every individual’s Essence Pool and the quality of that pool varied greatly, Rize possessed perhaps the highest Quality of Essence in the entire world, or at least in the academy. The effect it has on his body is several times more efficient and better than that of any other individual, which made his use immensely powerful and a difference-maker.
It didn’t take a single second before Rize closed the distance to a mere foot or two as the boy looked over him and tried to shoot him with the poison, trying to deter him from chasing relentlessly.
However, at that point, Rize was certain that he had him, as he decided to use Endless Hunger.
’I didn’t use you in a while, pal. Time to get to work.’ He thought to himself as the black matter formed around his hand and then shot forward.
[Endless Hunger Activated: Defensive Mode.]
The black matter instantly formed a barrier between them just as the projectile flew toward Rize. Hitting the black matter, it got instantly absorbed as if it was nothing. The boy’s eyes widened when he saw that, as he couldn’t even comprehend what just happened.
"I got you." Rize used that moment of shock to his advantage as he leaped forward and tackled the boy to the ground, slamming him violently.
"UGH!!!"
The two rolled several times as they struggled for control before they hit the wall. Using Endless Hunger, it wrapped around the boy’s body like a coiling snake, restraining him as Rize instantly grabbed him and threw him to the ground violently.
"You bastard," Rize said coldly as he stood up and walked to him before kicking him in the stomach, making him roll several times. "You tried to poison her? Using an underhanded method like sneakily shooting a needle at her?"
*SLAM*
Stomping the boy, he made him cough and scream loudly. Rize, however, was beyond outraged. He had never felt this angry before. It was as if every blood cell in his body was boiling and he couldn’t contain it whatsoever. This wasn’t enough... He deserved far more than this.
"UGH!! Stop... Plea-"
Rize didn’t let him speak as he grabbed him by the collar and lifted him before he punched him in the face violently, sending him flying as he hit one of the tables and rolled on the ground. Rize walked to him and grabbed him again before he punched him in the face.
"What if that needle hit her, huh? What if she died?" Rize asked. "What if you took her away?"
With each word, he kept punching him again and again as blood covered his fist. But Rize’s eyes appeared terrifying for a second. He wasn’t the same person, at least not at that moment. He kept punching the boy, even after he turned into a blood pulp.
The sound of the wet punches filled the entire building as the boy stopped resisting and lost consciousness. But even then, Rize kept punching him with more and more power as if he were possessed by a demon.
’I will kill you, bastard.’ His eyes turned completely dead cold, and his expression lost all anger as blood splattered all over his face.
Rize lost all train of thought; he felt completely empty. Everything around him became dark, and the sole thing he could see was the boy he was punching to death. He felt a sheer amount of hatred toward the boy that he hadn’t felt in a very, very long time.
The last time Rize’s heart was filled with this much darkness was back in his previous life, when his school bully took away his lunch and destroyed his phone before his eyes while beating him up. That day, Rize came back home and cried himself to sleep, but the sheer hatred he carried for that person was so deep and so cruel that he felt the urge to kill him or torture him and then kill him.
Now, that hatred came back for the very same reason... The fear of losing something Rize considered precious to him. This time, however, he had the ability to stop it and even take revenge against the person who dared to touch what belongs to him.
He would make him pay with his life for this sin. He would make him beg for the sweet release of death rather than be tortured in this manner.
His punches grew harder and more brutal till his knuckles were covered in bits and pieces of flesh from the boy’s face. At that point, the culprit’s face was completely unrecognizable. But, even that didn’t make Rize stop.
’Die.’
*PUNCH*
’Die.’
*PUNCH*
’Die.’
As he kept repeating that word in his mind, Rize lifted his hand to deliver the last punch that would end the boy’s life. However, at that moment, just as Rize was about to be completely consumed by his own feelings, he suddenly heard a voice.
"RIZE!!"
The voice echoed through his mind and, like a magical spell, snapped him back to reality. The darkness in his heart vanished as he looked down with wide eyes. He blinked and then looked up at the person approaching him in a hurry.
"Enough! Enough, let him go!" Venera said as she grabbed Rize’s hand and pulled him away. "Don’t get disqualified for something like this, Rize."
Those words were akin to a cold bucket of water that was poured on Rize’s head. He blinked slowly as he released the boy.
’What... was I doing?’ Rize frowned as he inspected his hand. It was completely covered in blood, as if he dipped it in a bath full of it. The disgusting metallic smell of the red liquid filled his nostrils.
Venera grabbed his shoulder as she crouched next to him. "Are you ok? Talk to me, Rize. I’m here; snap out of it." She said.
He stared at her and then nodded faintly. "Venera... He... He tried to..."
"I’m aware. Ok, just take a deep breath." She said. "I’ve called the supervisors; they will take care of the situation from here."
"He tried to do..."
"You did great by catching him. See, I’m completely fine." She said as she showed him her condition. She was completely unscathed, and that made Rize finally calm down as he sucked in a deep breath.
’I got completely lost in my own anger there... And I almost killed him.’ He thought to himself. ’I haven’t felt like that in ages. It’s... such a weird feeling.’
It gave Rize some very bad memories, and he felt bitter just recalling them. This was easily the worst condition he could be in, and Rize never wished to see it again or for Venera to see it with her own eyes. He had some disastrous anger issues that, at particular moments, made him lose all rationality.
As he was contemplating all those thoughts, several individuals arrived at the scene. One of them was Melissa, and at the far front of the group was Ereze.
As they reached the area, they stopped and inspected the situation. Ereze’s eyes scanned the body of the candidate as he spasmed subtly. Then, he looked at Venera and then Rize, who was covered in blood.
It took him a second to understand what happened before he signaled for one of the supervisors to check his condition.
"Is he dead?" He asked as he watched his subordinate check.
"He’s... In a very bad condition. He needs immediate help." The man replied as he grabbed a healing potion and poured it into his mouth before he picked him up. "Should I carry him to the medical section?"
"Yeah, I will be there in just a moment. We need to make sure this is indeed the culprit or not." He said.
The man then carried the boy away. Finally, Ereze turned to Rize and said in his usual cold tone. "Attacking another candidate is strictly prohibited, and that is enough of a reason to disqualify anyone."
Venera’s expression darkened. "Mr Er-"
"However, if he is indeed the culprit we are looking for, then I may excuse your mistake, Mr Rize. Attacking him like that is extremely foolish."
Rize looked at the man before he nodded. "I know. I should not have done that."
Even as he said those words, Rize didn’t feel regretful about beating that bastard up. He may have felt ashamed that Venera saw that, but deep down, he believed that the boy deserved to be killed for what he did.
"I am glad that you understand, Mr Rize. I shall be checking his condition and then make sure to understand the situation. Please, return to your quarters in the meantime."
Then, the man turned around and walked away. Melissa gave Rize a fleeting glance before she turned around and left with him. They had a lot of work to do to understand what happened and who that kid was.
