Everything passed like a flash for Rize; long gone are the days when he felt like he was simply existing. He was now living a completely different life, getting stronger and preparing himself for the day that he had been aiming for ever since he woke up in that world.

The day when he will go to the academy. Joining that institution wasn’t merely a good career achievement or even an amazing source of knowledge and power. It was also a huge political tool that would boost his reputation and position in the world immensely. Those who graduate from the academy in the top spots are instantly taken into society as geniuses amongst geniuses, and the best humanity has to offer.

An achievement as respectable as graduating from the academy is something far more important than any power or knowledge one could gain from being a student there. That was why, in the past two weeks, Rize pushed himself to the limit.

The second he isn’t sleeping or around Venera to fulfill his duties, he is training relentlessly. He focused on three core aspects: his stats and rank progression, his Gift mastery, and, of course, feeding his gluttonous blade to get it stronger and stronger.

Each one of these aspects required an insane amount of work. As he got closer and closer to filing the bar for each one, it became even more demanding and even more brutal to fulfill. It didn’t take long for weak Tier 8 monsters to stop giving Rize any stat points, even if he killed a dozen of them.

At the same time, Endless Hunger reached what he could only consider to be a bottleneck around 80%, and since then, no matter what he tried, it didn’t move and didn’t learn much more. The curious black matter seemed to have learned everything there is to learn within the confines of the situations Rize had taught it.

So, naturally, the next course of action was to leave the entire capital and head to a whole new world where the trustee black matter could learn new things and continue evolving.

The only thing that arguably wasn’t affected was Blade of Wrath. The demonic sword seemed delighted to absorb any sort of blood it could absorb. Sure, it didn’t increase its strength that much, but it made it quite happy, and Rize could tell that from the feeling it sent into his body.

But his sword was also evolving nicely, so Rize didn’t complain about it.

Aside from that, Rize was also occupied with something else. Ever since that day, he had a companion going hunting with him, and it was none other than Venera. The girl became his trusted hunting partner for a few weeks.

At first, Rize thought they might have to take it slow and teach her how to fight monsters. But Rize forgot who he was talking about.

Venera wasn’t considered a genius just because of her talent, but also due to the fact that she had a freakish ability to adapt to any situation. It was something that Rize knew but only truly realized when they went hunting for the first time.

The girl massacred every single monster coming her way with ease. It was as if she had been hunting monsters her entire life. Her speed, precision, and raw power were all just mesmerizing to watch.

But what truly took the cake was Venera’s gift, which luckily remained the same as her original gift. The gift was utterly ridiculous to the point where Rize would still rank it in the top 3 strongest Gifts in the entire story.

Its versatility and use were all beyond powerful.

Being able to witness it with his own eyes was something he could’ve never thought was possible, and yet still was as amazing as he knew it was.

Venera herself used that time to get much stronger very quickly with Rize’s help, as he knew the forest like the back of his hand.

And just like that, 3 weeks passed in the flash of an eye, and the day of departure arrived.

"Hmmm, I think this is about it," Rize muttered as he looked at his bag. He had packed everything he needed, or at least thought he needed. Venera had handed him a Spatial Storage device so he wasn’t worried about carrying heavy luggage on their long journey.

"This would’ve been the best way to prepare for a trip back in my world. I don’t have to worry about the weight or anything else." Rize smiled as he finally closed the spatial storage device and looked around him. The room looked quite a bit more empty after taking everything that belonged to him.

"Sigh, I didn’t stay here for long, but I still somehow feel attached to this room." He exhaled. "It’s quite cozy and nice compared to the rest of this palace. I don’t think I will ever sleep here again, so... I guess... Farewell, I really liked sleeping in you." He said with a salute as he turned around to leave.

At that moment, he heard a knock on the door.

"Rize, are you ready?"

It was Rob.

"I’m coming."

Opening the door, the smiling man standing there with the same usual expression. He eyed Rize before he nodded.

"You look ready."

"Yeah, I’m wearing more practical attire because the trip is going to take ages."

"You look nice, don’t worry." Rob chuckled. "Anyway, Her Highness is waiting for you downstairs."

"Yeah, I took way too long. I’m heading out now." Rize said as he looked at Rob. "Thanks for the past few months; without your help, I would not have been able to adapt to this new environment as fast as I did. I really owe you, Rob."

"I didn’t do anything extraordinary. It was all a part of my job."

"Still, I’m really grateful for your help and... Farewell," Rize said as he stretched his hand to shake Rob’s.

The man looked at his hand and then at Rize’s before he smiled. "You mean see you later, right?"

Rize’s eyes widened for a second before he smiled and nodded. "Yeah, see you later."

Then, Rob shook his hand tightly. Even though the two only knew each other for a few months, Rize considered him a friend. Rob was a very nice person, even though he was quite odd sometimes, but who wasn’t in this world?

With that, Rize turned around and walked away, heading downstairs. There, he found a group of maids and butlers lined up before the gate, and Venera waiting for him.

"You’re almost late, Rize."

"I’m sorry, I had to say goodbye to a few things." He said.

"Hm, interesting." She muttered. "If that is the case. Then there is no problem. Our flight is in 20 minutes from now. Let’s go."

Rize nodded as he walked after Venera. At the same time, the entire line of butlers and maids bowed down.

"We bid you farewell, Your Highness!" They said in unison.

Venera didn’t reply as she opened the doors. But then she stopped and looked back. Looking at the workers silently, she said a few words.

"Good luck to you all."
