Chapter 513 - 520: Entering the Wuyang Sea

Time trickled by. The towering pillar of water finally began to change.

A shimmering orb of light shot out from within it, rocketing toward the sky.

The instant it collided, it burst like a firework, and the clouds bloomed with a dazzling, multicolored radiance.

At that same moment, the sea barrier that had been in place began to recede.

The surrounding crowd immediately grew excited. Everyone stared eagerly at the sea, poised to dash forward with all their might.

Song Wanning’s expression was grim, her eyes fixed unwaveringly on the sea.

Once the sea barrier had completely vanished, the base of the water pillar became clearly visible to all.

In an instant, everyone moved.

They swarmed toward the water pillar like a frantic mob, without a shred of the dignified bearing expected of immortals.

Song Wanning was already used to this. The Immortal Realm was just another world with a higher power level; the struggle for survival was just as cruel.

People would still come to blows over resources. No one was above it.

Knowing she wasn’t strong enough to compete, Song Wanning didn’t fight for a spot at the front. Instead, she fell to the back of the crowd, following them toward the pillar.

She held a Water-Repelling Pearl in her mouth, which allowed her to breathe freely underwater and no longer fear the crashing waves.

Soon, people were jumping into the water pillar one after another.

By the time her turn came, the thousand-plus figures had all vanished, leaving Song Wanning standing alone on the vast expanse of the sea.

Gazing at the calm, azure surface, she took a steadying breath and shot directly toward the pillar. A tremendous force surged up from below, nearly blasting her away.

She struggled to maintain her form and plunged headfirst into it.

The expected Cultivation restriction never appeared. She broke through the barrier smoothly and entered the world beneath the waves.

All sorts of fish came into view, their cheerful forms swimming about freely.

Song Wanning scanned her surroundings. Besides the fish, there was seaweed everywhere, swaying endlessly with the undersea currents.

She had no idea what the exotic treasure was or where to find it. She only felt that she couldn’t miss this chance. Even if she only managed to get acquainted with a few of the senior cultivators, the trip would have been worth it.

"Little one, help me see if there are any spots nearby with particularly dense Immortal Qi."

she asked her Dragon Spirit.

"You got it!"

The Dragon Spirit agreed readily. It closed its eyes and sensed carefully for a long moment before pointing in one direction.

"The Immortal Qi seems a little denser over there..."

But it was only slightly denser than the surrounding area, nothing particularly special.

’It seems that even if there is a treasure, it’s not nearby.’

Hearing this, Song Wanning nodded and headed in the direction the Dragon Spirit had indicated.

Before long, however, her path was blocked by a Sea Beast.

The Sea Beast was enormous. Enraged at being disturbed, it whipped its tail at Song Wanning.

She instantly dodged and simultaneously swung her sword at the beast. The Sword Dao True Realm, infused with several types of power, kicked up a violent storm on the seabed.

The surrounding water seemed to split in two, the attack both incredibly fast and ferocious.

The Sea Beast roared, unleashing an invisible sonic wave that intercepted her attack mid-water, forcibly smoothing the sundered currents.

At that moment, Song Wanning closed the distance again. With a single leap, she broke through the pressure and brought her sword down on the Sea Beast’s back.

"ROAR—"

The tip of her sword sank into its back. The Sea Beast cried out in pain and reared up, trying to fling Song Wanning off.

Song Wanning clung tightly to its back, refusing to let go for anything.

Just then, a figure passed by. Seeing Song Wanning battling the Sea Beast, he let out a derisive snort.

"Hmph. So they’re letting just anyone into the Wuyang Sea these days."

The speaker was none other than Mu Zixu. This time, however, he was alone; Wang Yang was nowhere to be seen.

Song Wanning’s brow furrowed. ’The world is too small for my enemies. Why did I have to run into Mu Zixu again?’

’And no matter when I encounter him, he’s always got that same unpleasant, caustic attitude.’

’For a great and mighty Immortal, he certainly has no grace, mocking a low-level cultivator like me.’

’A man like that has such a petty mind. No wonder he’s so prejudiced against me.’

She shot Mu Zixu a defiant glare but held her tongue. After all, discretion is the better part of valor, and she wasn’t a fool.

"Tch. Daoqing’s judgment is as poor as ever."

Mu Zixu shot Song Wanning another glance before quickly departing.

The look of disgust and contempt on his face made Song Wanning’s blood boil.

’One day, I’ll make Mu Zixu regret this!’

Filled with resentment, Song Wanning’s attacks grew more and more vicious as she vented her fury on the Sea Beast.

Soon, the Sea Beast was crying out in pain from her relentless assault. A few minutes later, it fell, becoming Song Wanning’s first prize.

’This Sea Beast is enormous. The Immortal Qi it contains must be far greater than that of a demon beast. Once I absorb it, my physical strength is sure to improve.’

Song Wanning stored the carcass, a vicious glint in her eyes.

Mu Zixu’s arrogant, disdainful expression still seemed to be right in front of her.

Her heart sank, and a deep dissatisfaction welled within her.

Therefore, she decided to go out of her way to cause trouble for Mu Zixu. Even if she couldn’t seize the opportunity for herself, she would make sure he didn’t have an easy time either.

’Consider it a down payment on my revenge.’

And so, Song Wanning immediately gave chase in Mu Zixu’s direction, forgetting all about the place with dense Immortal Qi.

Her little companions sensed their master’s anger and grew indignant themselves.

United against a common enemy, they all began to plot how they would get back at Mu Zixu.

...

A few days later, Song Wanning came to a stop in a strange place.

The surroundings here were dark, tinged with an eerie green glow. There was no trace of seaweed or any other life. Instead, the ground was littered with sections of white bone, mostly buried in the silt, with only fragments exposed.

The moment she drew near, countless wisps of resentment swirled around her, trying to stir the darkness in her heart.

But Song Wanning had long since vanquished her Heart Demon. Coupled with the Yin Qi within her, she didn’t even bat an eye at the onrushing resentment, completely unaffected.

The resentment, seemingly unwilling to give up, coalesced into a series of hideous faces that lunged at Song Wanning, mouths wide open to bite.

"Hmph!"

With a cold snort, Song Wanning summoned a bolt of Divine Thunder to her hand. It crackled, flashing with a purplish-white light.

Instantly, as if they had seen something terrifying, the wisps of resentment scattered in fear.

Once the resentment dispersed, the true nature of the place was revealed. It was a tomb.

Below the tomb’s stone monument, a doorway had appeared. A bright, blinding light shone from within.

’Mu Zixu must have gone in here.’

The thought flashed through her mind, and Song Wanning decided to go take a look.

’But I have to be extremely careful. A petty man like Mu Zixu could attack me at any moment.’

After steeling herself, she cautiously approached the doorway and stepped inside.

The intense light stabbed at her, and Song Wanning’s vision was consumed by a flash of white, blinding her instantly.
