Villainess Rampage: The Whole Sect Begs for Mercy
Chapter 462 - 468: Encountering the Huo Family Elder Again!
"Where is Huo Jinchuan?"
"Where the hell did he go?"
"Huo Jinchuan stole over forty of the clan’s major treasures. Did you know about it?"
"Get him back here now, or don’t blame us for turning on you!"
They bombarded him with questions, not giving Huo Yang a single chance to get a word in.
Huo Yang was so stunned at first that he couldn’t respond. His long silence only fueled the fury on the other end of the line.
"Clan Leader, what’s the meaning of this silence? Don’t tell me you knew about this?"
"Or worse, was this your idea?"
The elders who were already plotting against him didn’t mince their words, asking bluntly.
By now, the Ninth Elder and Fifth Elder had figured out what was going on and looked completely baffled.
"Clan Leader, what are they talking about? Did Huo Jinchuan go back and steal treasures?"
"How is that possible? We watched Huo Jinchuan grow up. He has no reason to do something like this!"
No matter how they thought about it, they couldn’t believe Huo Jinchuan would do such a thing. They simply couldn’t find a reason for it.
But Huo Yang’s expression darkened. His fists clenched so hard they cracked, and the sheer force of his rage made the very air around him tremble.
’It must be those two wretches...’
He immediately thought of Song Wanning and Baili Shang. After all, only they had such audacity.
Who else would dare to do such a thing?
He just never imagined their audacity would reach such a level.
’Do they have a death wish?’
Huo Yang suppressed the killing intent in his heart and replied through the Communication Talisman. "Huo Jinchuan is trapped outside. It’s impossible for him to have returned to the Huo Family. Someone must have framed him!"
"Check again. That person is definitely not Huo Jinchuan."
"Immediately launch a full-scale search for any suspicious individuals! Any later and it’ll be too late!"
The elders on the other end fell silent at this news.
They were already beginning to doubt his words. After all, it was Huo Yang’s secrecy at the start that had led to this whole mess.
"You must answer for this, Clan Leader!"
They cut the connection on the Communication Talisman but still followed Huo Yang’s orders, beginning to search the area for anyone suspicious.
Unfortunately for them, Song Wanning’s clone had long since departed, neatly avoiding the pursuit.
Meanwhile, Song Wanning and Baili Shang were also near the area where Huo Jinchuan had disappeared.
They were approaching from a different direction, however, so they hadn’t run into Huo Yang yet.
"Why have we come here?"
Baili Shang’s eyes held a hint of curiosity. Song Wanning had been making for this destination from the very beginning but had yet to tell him the reason.
Song Wanning glanced sideways at him, a teasing note in her voice. "Isn’t it a little late to be asking me that now?"
"Aren’t you worried I might sell you out?"
At first, she had thought Baili Shang was cold and unapproachable.
But after actually spending time with him, she discovered that wasn’t the case at all.
He was a very simple, pure person.
Yet he was also quite shrewd. The impression he gave was contradictory, but somehow it felt right.
"I wouldn’t mind being sold to you."
Baili Shang raised an eyebrow. His handsome figure, standing in the cold wind, seemed all the more suffused with an ethereal, immortal air.
Song Wanning shot him a glare before explaining, "Huo Jinchuan is somewhere around here. I brought you along, naturally, to snatch his great opportunity."
Huo Jinchuan survived being hunted so relentlessly by Huo Yang. He must have stumbled upon some great opportunity that can heal his injuries.
That’s why she had to be here.
"Huo Jinchuan..."
Baili Shang’s eyes darkened at the name. There was something strange about Huo Jinchuan.
But Song Wanning seemed to know something, and there was a secret between the two of them that he wasn’t privy to.
He didn’t press the issue, however, merely nodding.
For the next while, they both focused on finding a trace of Huo Jinchuan.
Although all signs indicated he was nearby, Song Wanning just couldn’t find the entrance.
However, their fears were soon realized. They ran into a Cultivator from the Huo Family.
It was none other than the Ninth Elder, a Cultivator at the Early-stage Integration realm. He had a delicate, feminine face, and his eyes glinted with cunning calculation.
The Ninth Elder had been searching for the entrance himself and never expected to run into Song Wanning and Baili Shang.
After all, Huo Yang had said the two of them had likely already entered the Light Gate.
He froze for an instant. By the time he reacted, Song Wanning and Baili Shang’s attacks were already upon him.
Baili Shang instantly deployed an Array, cutting them off from outside detection.
The last thing he wanted was to draw Huo Yang over.
BOOM—
Flashes from a sword and a saber, both radiating chilling killing intent, slashed down in unison. Countless spatial rifts tore open around them as Demons struggled to break through, eager to tear him to shreds.
The Ninth Elder was horrified. He didn’t dare let his guard down; after all, even the Great Elder had fallen to these two.
He immediately counterattacked. With a mere lift of his hand, a volley of Rain Swords, reeking of thick poison, shot down from above. The attack was so dense it filled every inch of the surrounding space, leaving no room to dodge.
"Go!"
But with a sharp cry from Song Wanning, the Immortal Furnace reappeared. It suddenly expanded, shielding them both beneath it.
As the Rain Swords fell, the surrounding earth and plants were instantly corroded. In the blink of an eye, everything turned into puddles of foul-smelling ooze.
A chill went down their spines. ’This man’s techniques are so vicious,’ they thought. If those swords landed on a Cultivator, they’d be flayed alive, if not killed outright.
Thankfully, with the Immortal Furnace as defense, the two were completely unharmed. The Ninth Elder, on the other hand, was forced back several steps by the sword and saber flashes before he managed to steady himself.
His expression was grim. He glared at the pair, his eyes burning with hatred.
"You killed the Great Elder and Huo Yuan, and you think you can run?"
"Surrender obediently, and I might leave you with an intact corpse!"
He threatened, trying to stall for time.
"The last person who said that is already dead. Are you sure you’ll be an exception?"
Song Wanning’s expression was icy. She hated being threatened.
"You—"
The Ninth Elder never imagined Song Wanning could be so arrogant. His face went pale with rage.
"Fine! Since you refuse to do this the easy way, don’t blame me for getting rough!"
With a furious roar, he charged at the pair once more.
Soon, the entire Array was shaking under the force of their battle, on the verge of collapse.
Knowing the danger he was in, the Ninth Elder held nothing back, each of his moves utterly ruthless from the start.
But Song Wanning and Baili Shang had gotten smart. Protected by the Immortal Furnace from the outset, they engaged the Ninth Elder in a guerrilla-style battle.
For all his strenuous attacks, the Ninth Elder couldn’t even graze their skin, which left him fuming.
To make matters worse, the shameless pair coordinated their attacks, launching sneak attacks on him. In just a few short minutes, he was already lightly injured and looking utterly wretched.
’Damn it, how am I supposed to fight this?’
"You’re despicable!"
