Villainess Rampage: The Whole Sect Begs for Mercy
Chapter 434 - 440: The Rotten Corpse
Besides, the three of them posed no threat to him with their Cultivation levels.
So he wouldn’t care in the slightest.
Sure enough, upon hearing Song Wanning’s words, the Huo Clan Leader let out a soft chuckle.
He found her audacity amusing.
And indeed, he didn’t take them seriously at all.
’A few mere Pill Masters are no match for me even if they work together. I might as well let them die knowing why...’
He gave Song Wanning a cool glance, then said to Huo Jinchuan, "Take them to the secret chamber."
"Yes."
Huo Jinchuan nodded obediently and led the three of them out of the stone room.
But they didn’t leave directly. Instead, they wound their way to a Transmission Array.
"Go."
The group stepped into the Transmission Array and were immediately hit by a wave of dizziness.
A full incense stick’s worth of time passed before the Transmission Array finally stopped.
Song Wanning suppressed the shock in her heart. ’We were in the Transmission Array for so long. Just how far have we traveled?’
’Why all this secrecy? What is the identity of the person they want to save?’
Baili Shang’s eyes darkened as well, ready to make his escape at a moment’s notice.
The Transmission Array soon opened, and a blinding light instantly shone in.
They quickly raised their hands to shield their eyes, only following Huo Jinchuan out of the array after they had adjusted to the light.
"HISS—"
A bone-chilling cold assaulted them instantly. In just a few seconds, a layer of frost had formed over the three of them.
Seeing this, Huo Jinchuan raised his hand and gave a light wave. The frost shattered, falling to their feet in fragments.
But the penetrating cold still slowed the trio down. Every step felt as if they were pushing against immense pressure, their bones creaking and aching from the freeze.
Song Wanning’s face quickly flushed red, but she possessed a Fire Spirit Root. Her Spiritual Power circulated rapidly within her, soon driving out the cold and returning her to normal.
Huo Jinchuan glanced at Song Wanning.
’This one’s fortune is the strongest, and she’s the hardest to deal with.’
’Seizing her providence will not be easy...’
’It seems I’ll have to start with Xiao Heyun first.’
Only when his own providence was on par with Song Wanning’s would he have a chance to seize hers.
Otherwise, the chance of her escaping was high.
Huo Jinchuan understood the importance of providence all too well. He even felt it surpassed everything else.
Thus, his obsession with it had reached a perverse level.
As a transmigrator, he felt not a hint of pride, but was instead filled with anxiety.
And seizing providence was an addictive act.
Huo Jinchuan lowered his gaze and continued walking forward.
Song Wanning, following behind, heard Huo Jinchuan’s plans, and a sharp glint flashed in her eyes.
She shot Xiao Heyun a malicious glance.
’In a contest between two invaders, I wonder who the Wooden Sculpture World Heavenly Dao will favor?’
’If that’s not enough, I don’t mind fanning the flames.’
’It would be best if they both end up crippled. Nothing could be better.’
...
Half an hour later, the group finally stopped. They had arrived outside an Ice Palace.
Restrictive spells were everywhere, surrounding the Ice Palace. Even if someone were to discover it, they would be unable to get in or out.
Huo Jinchuan, without any hesitation, forced out a drop of his Heart Blood and dripped it onto the spells. A small door immediately appeared.
He led them through the small door, only continuing inside after it had closed once more.
Baili Shang’s brow furrowed slightly. ’With so many restrictive spells, my chances of escaping are slim.’
’But there must be another way out from inside the Ice Palace. I can only take it one step at a time for now.’
Huo Jinchuan soon led them into the Ice Palace. Blocks of ice were everywhere; all the furniture was carved from ice.
They ascended the steps to the second floor.
The moment Song Wanning reached the second floor, she was hit by a strong, putrid stench.
It was the smell of decay.
Xiao Heyun and Baili Shang’s expressions also changed, and they looked toward the source of the smell.
One look, and all three of their faces instantly turned pale.
Even though the three of them had blood on their hands, they were still sickened by the scene before them.
On a bed of ice, a corpse lay silently.
Judging by its clothes, it must have been a woman.
But even though her body was preserved in Cold Ice, the decay could not be stopped. The flesh all over her body was putrid and swollen, and even oozing thick fluid.
It was an absolutely disgusting sight.
Xiao Heyun almost gagged, steadying himself against a nearby ice wall.
’Killing is one thing, a simple matter of a falling head, but this person’s body...’
’It’s too disgusting. This is the stuff of nightmares.’
’And the Huo Clan Leader is keeping a corpse like this?’
’He’s insane!’
The trio’s reaction was quite strong. Huo Jinchuan’s lips curled into a cold, thin smile.
His expression was calm, long accustomed to the sight. He walked forward slowly, adding layers of ice to the corpse.
Xiao Heyun watched him with a look of horror. ’This Huo Jinchuan is a ruthless one, to be able to do this without batting an eye.’
Just as the three hesitated, the Huo Clan Leader finally arrived.
He was in a hurry, and despite his best efforts to suppress it, he could not hide his inner excitement.
His figure flashed past the trio, stopping directly in front of the corpse.
"Meng’er, I’m back!"
The Huo Clan Leader stepped forward and reached out, stroking the body through the layer of ice. His gaze was so tender it seemed to drip with affection.
His affectionate display sent a wave of goosebumps over Song Wanning and the others.
A handsome, imposing middle-aged man was tenderly stroking a decaying corpse.
No matter how you looked at it, the scene was utterly bizarre.
It was even perverse.
More perverse than an Evil Cultivator.
Huo Jinchuan, however, still looked as if this were perfectly normal, continuing to add layers of ice to the corpse.
Only when the Cold Ice was thick enough to completely seal away the putrid stench did the Huo Clan Leader shove Huo Jinchuan aside.
"Useless thing! You can’t even handle a small task like sealing your mother in ice."
"If I had known, I should have strangled you at birth!"
The Huo Clan Leader glared viciously at Huo Jinchuan, his eyes filled with disgust and hatred.
He didn’t look at him like a son, but like an enemy.
The expressions on Song Wanning and the others were rather strange. ’Weren’t we told that Huo Jinchuan was highly valued and doted on by the Clan Leader?’
’This doesn’t look like it at all.’
A cold light flashed in the Huo Clan Leader’s eyes. He looked back at Song Wanning and thrust his hand out, grabbing for her.
Song Wanning was pulled through the air, her neck seized by the Huo Clan Leader.
"If you dare to deceive me, I’ll make you wish for death but never find it!"
His expression was twisted, and the pressure radiating from him made it hard for Song Wanning to breathe.
She suppressed the urge to fight back, letting a look of fear show on her face.
"Rest assured, Senior. This junior wouldn’t dare deceive you..."
"But... if I can wake her, will you let me go?"
Song Wanning’s pretense of forced bravery actually made the Huo Clan Leader lower his guard.
He threw Song Wanning aside, then carefully took out a Buddha Lamp from his Storage Ring.
Within the halo of light above the Buddha Lamp, a remnant soul flickered in and out of view, deep in a coma.
