Villainess Rampage: The Whole Sect Begs for Mercy

Chapter 431 - 437: Rejuvenation Pill

All three of them ultimately chose to go to the Book Collection Pavilion.

The bottom three floors of the Book Collection Pavilion were open to them. Most of the contents were insights into the Alchemy Dao left behind by various Cultivators, as well as some travel journals.

Of course, the core teachings were not accessible to them.

Song Wanning wasn’t bothered and browsed through the texts earnestly.

She wasn’t actually interested in the Dan Sect’s legacy; it was merely an excuse to deceive Baili Shang.

But as she browsed, she overheard Xiao Heyun communicating with his system. He was actually planning to steal the Dan Sect’s legacy.

The system didn’t stop him; in fact, it enthusiastically approved of his decision.

Song Wanning was somewhat surprised. After all, stealing from the Dan Sect on their own turf was far too risky. For starters, Xiao Heyun’s level of Cultivation was clearly inadequate.

’Anyone who didn’t know better would think the system was trying to get Xiao Heyun killed.’

A smile touched her lips. ’It would be for the best if Xiao Heyun managed to get himself killed.’

...

「Three days passed in a flash.」

Huo Jinchuan finally reappeared.

His expression was colder than ever, and he looked thoroughly displeased.

"You’re coming with me."

He led them toward a secret chamber in the Dan Sect, only stopping a full hour later, deep underground.

It was a tightly sealed stone chamber, leaving the three no opportunity to escape.

A pile of Medicinal Herbs was strewn carelessly on the floor. From this, it was clear that Huo Jinchuan couldn’t care less about this so-called Pill Recipe.

"Here are the Medicinal Herbs. You can leave when you successfully refine the Elixir Pills!"

His cold gaze swept over them, his patience clearly gone.

His eyes were filled with a vicious aura; it looked as though he’d come here after being angered elsewhere.

The faces of Song Wanning and the other two darkened in unison. Although they had long known he had ill intentions, they couldn’t just meekly accept such a blatant threat.

"What is the meaning of this? We only came to visit, not to be your slaves!"

Xiao Heyun couldn’t hold back any longer. If it weren’t for his lack of strength, he would have charged forward and run him through with his sword right then and there.

His face darkened as the anger in his heart steadily climbed.

Huo Jinchuan, however, looked at him as if he were an idiot.

"You came here with your own motives. You should have expected this outcome, shouldn’t you?"

A chilling aura swirled around him, and his dark eyes seemed to pierce through a person’s very being, right down to their soul.

Xiao Heyun froze, his expression turning even uglier.

’So Huo Jinchuan knew all along that we had ulterior motives!’

"Don’t try to pull any tricks on me. If you can complete this task, I’ll let you leave. I might even help you achieve your own goals."

"But if you try to play games with me..."

Huo Jinchuan shot the three a cool glance. A flash of killing intent appeared in his eyes, and the surrounding air seemed to freeze over.

The hair on Xiao Heyun’s body stood on end in an instant. He felt an unprecedented chill shoot straight to the top of his skull.

His pupils constricted. He found it hard to believe that the man before him could give off such a dangerous feeling.

Huo Jinchuan said no more, turning and striding away.

The stone door closed, leaving only Song Wanning and the other two in the vast chamber.

She looked at the Medicinal Herbs on the floor. Every single one was incredibly precious, yet Huo Jinchuan had tossed them here so carelessly.

For some reason, it gave her a very contradictory feeling.

’But with so many precious Medicinal Herbs laid out here, including many she had never even seen before, wouldn’t it be a pity to let them go to waste?’

With a tacit understanding, Song Wanning and Baili Shang each took out their Alchemy Furnaces and leisurely began performing Alchemy.

They didn’t know how to complete that blasted, fragmented Pill Recipe, but they did know how to refine Elixir Pills to save their own lives.

’Can’t let good materials go to waste, after all.’

But Xiao Heyun thought the two had compromised and immediately snorted in contempt.

"Cowards!"

He muttered, his heart filled with disdain for the two of them.

’Instead of trying to find a way out, they’re actually thinking of performing Alchemy for Huo Jinchuan?’

’They must be out of their minds.’

’That Song Wanning usually seems so smart, but it turns out she’s a fool too.’

But Song Wanning and Baili Shang had no desire to interact with the fool, not even sparing him a single glance.

This infuriated Xiao Heyun all the more, but he had no outlet for his rage.

Fuming, he could only begin searching for a mechanism to open the great door.

Song Wanning and Baili Shang watched him fumble around as if he were an idiot, the corners of their mouths twitching speechlessly.

’The fact that Huo Jinchuan dared to leave them here proved the chamber was perfectly secure and that they couldn’t escape.’

’It would be better to use that energy to refine more Elixir Pills. That way, if a conflict did break out, they would have more pills to save their lives.’

After making a fuss for some time, Xiao Heyun finally realized this as well. He stopped wasting his time and joined them in the Alchemy.

Another three days passed in confinement. Song Wanning and the others had already refined quite a few good Elixir Pills, all of which they pocketed for themselves.

Opportunities like this were rare, and they all grasped it tightly, unwilling to waste a single second.

They only stopped their work when Huo Jinchuan entered the stone chamber with someone in tow.

Song Wanning’s gaze fell upon the person beside Huo Jinchuan, pausing for a moment.

The man looked very similar to Huo Jinchuan. He wore luxurious brocade robes and possessed a naturally imposing aura that marked him as a man of high status.

’This must be the Huo Family Head, right?’

"These are the people you found?"

The Huo Family Head’s deep voice rang out, and the atmosphere in the entire stone chamber instantly grew tense.

"Yes. The three of them are all geniuses of the Alchemy Dao selected through screening. They might have a chance to restore the Pill Recipe."

Huo Jinchuan nodded and led him into the stone chamber.

When he saw that so many of the Medicinal Herbs on the floor were gone, his eyes paused for a moment, but he didn’t say anything.

The Huo Clan Leader carefully sized up the trio, a glint of coldness in his eyes.

"I presume Jinchuan has already made things clear to you. If you can restore the Pill Recipe for the Rejuvenation Pill, you may leave this place."

"If you are unable to restore it, then you will stay here for the rest of your lives."

’Once you enter my Huo Family’s domain, you’d better obey. Perhaps then you’ll have a sliver of a chance to live.’

Upon hearing the words "Rejuvenation Pill," Song Wanning and the other two were all shaken to the core.

The Rejuvenation Pill and the Soul Nourishing Pill were two completely different things. A Soul Nourishing Pill primarily nurtured the Divine Soul and repaired injuries to it.

The Rejuvenation Pill, on the other hand, could gather a soul that had already dissipated.

Ordinarily, when a person’s soul dissipated, they were considered to have completely perished. But some individuals possessed special means to bind a Divine Soul just as it was about to scatter.

Combined with a Rejuvenation Pill, that person could be reawakened.

However, a person awakened through this method would only be an ordinary vessel; all of their previous Cultivation would be washed away.

But this was still an act that defied the heavens, and one might even suffer Heavenly Punishment when reawakening the soul.

However, these things only existed in ancient records, and the Pill Recipe for the Rejuvenation Pill had long been lost.

And now, the Huo Clan Leader actually wanted them to restore the Pill Recipe for the Rejuvenation Pill?

Song Wanning and Baili Shang exchanged a look, their hearts sinking.
