Villain Seduces to Rise in Status

Chapter 158 - Inheritance

No, Sirius hadn’t joined any sect or organization. He simply ran away one day.

Only later did others discover that the one ruling for decades wasn’t his real body at all.

Through rumors, Cale had learned that Sirius possessed at least three avatar bodies, each one scattered across the world, constantly traveling and evolving independently.

This raised a disturbing question: Sirius was likely intelligent enough to have foreseen the Wang Clan’s attack on Vaeloria. So why hadn’t he taken action?

Was he afraid? Did he simply not care anymore? Or perhaps the fate of a kingdom mattered little in his eternal pursuit of greater strength?

’Why was I thinking of Sirius this much?’ Cale wondered bitterly.

Well, of course, his goal was to absorb one of those three bodies.

But the opposite was terrifying too- what if Sirius started targeting Cale in retaliation?

Sirius was likely the smartest person Cale had ever encountered across both his lives. He could create spells and techniques within hours. Analyzing someone’s technique and developing counters for it was literally his specialty.

Sighing, Cale forced himself back to present reality and opened his eyes.

’Well... where even are we now?’

Dust and dirt surrounded him completely — black sand and tornadoes of swirling detritus everywhere. Many peaks of jagged rock were spread evenly across the ground, forming an alien landscape.

There was no sun. Only a near-absolute darkness overhead, as if perpetual night reigned in this place.

Cale looked at Sesrir.

"Well, it’s your turn now."

Sesrir quickly grabbed Cale and launched into the air, flying as fast as his current strength would allow to escape the approaching hordes of dust tornadoes.

"There’s flying monsters inside those hurricanes!" Sesrir shouted as he flew.

Cale looked back, staring directly into the tornado cores.

Indeed, countless flying abominations swarmed within them. Apex Stage, Emperor Stage, Sage Stage, and even a few at Great Sage Stage. The sheer density of deadly energy was staggering.

Cale sighed, shaking his head.

’This is troublesome...’

Suddenly, sensing the shift in intent, Sesrir screamed.

"Oh no! They’re attacking!"

Beams of red and black energy erupted from the tornadoes, streaking toward them.

Sesrir swiftly dodged, his reflexes barely sufficient to avoid the barrage.

’Hmm... I knew we would be attacked, but this... sigh, I guess not every piece of information is accurate.’

"Tie me to some rope or something. I will deal with them from behind," he replied.

Following Cale’s advice, Sesrir quickly produced a golden chain from his spatial storage and tied it around Cale’s waist, anchoring the other end to his own body.

While Sesrir flew ahead at maximum speed, Cale could now focus on defending their rear.

He began cutting down any monster that approached, killing many with air slashes and fireballs. Somehow, impossibly... he held his ground against the relentless assault.

Fast as he was in aerial speed, he couldn’t match an Emperor’s speed.

Then, spreading out his divine consciousness to its maximum range, Cale sensed something.

One of the rock pillars was responding to his spiritual probing! Resonating with a familiar pattern of energy.

"Hey, let’s go to that one!" he pointed out.

"Hmm? Why there? Is there something you sensed?" Sesrir asked, he was too occupied with flying to think too much. But he knew Cale’s soul cultivation far exceeded his own.

"Just go toward it. I’ll see what it can do."

Sighing, Sesrir changed directions.

As they approached the pillar, both of them felt a distinct shift — as if entering some kind of territorial boundary.

Sure enough, the hurricanes abruptly bounced off invisible walls surrounding the pillar, as if encountering a forbidden zone.

Both Cale and Sesrir stood near the invisible barrier, staring at the monsters bouncing helplessly off the containment field.

"Phew... we’re safe for now, but I guess there would be some kind of time limit to this, right?" Sesrir asked, collapsing onto the ground.

"That’s what I guess too... hmm?"

As Cale turned to see their shelter more closely, he realized the rock pillars weren’t actually just pillars.

They were towers! massive towers with rooms carved into the huge stone formations.

’That’s quite the design. I didn’t even notice it was a tower with rooms,’ he thought staring.

"Let’s go in," Cale said, already walking inside.

Sesrir followed without hesitation.

Standing on the balcony of the fifth floor, Cale stared out at the endless hurricanes stretching before them.

Sesrir leaned against the railing, his expression thoughtful.

"We actually didn’t notice, but there was this huge amount of hurricanes filled with monsters behind us. What kind of being left this inheritance?" he asked, but his tone was hinting that he expected Cale to know.

Sesrir understood that Cale’s main goal was this place. He should have knowledge about it, right?

Cale grinned.

"It’s left by a Divine Stage cultivator called the Nine-Headed Sea Serpent King, or well... just the Sea Dragon King. He was once so powerful that he liberated all the waters of the entire world by himself, making all sea tribes and beasts submit to him."

Sesrir’s eyes widened with shock and horror.

"A... D-Divine Stage! Such a being... maybe he was a magical beast rather than a sea serpent..."

Not human... Not even a sea tribesman... Just a random sea beast who ascended to power through sheer strength — much like Rhaezel.

Then Cale had a sudden idea.

With one motion, Null emerged from his sleeves, hissing like a serpent as it uncoiled.

Cale pointed toward the hurricane-filled landscape.

"Go, eat as many as you can," he smiled, then placed the Netherworld Prince’s Ring inside one of Null’s scales as the centipede grew huge. "And of course, absorb their souls for me."

With the ring embedded in its body, Null could simply heal itself if it sustained too much damage. As a low Apex Stage creature, it could easily massacre most of these monsters.

Why waste time when they could harvest souls instead?

Null launched into the air — it did have wings, after all, and dove into the nearest hurricane.

What Cale needed now was soul cultivation advancement.

If he reached Emperor Stage soul cultivation, he could create multiple Beast Phantoms simultaneously.

And unlike human enemies who possessed their own soul power and could target him spiritually, these mindless monsters with no sentience posed no such threat.

He could manifest Beast Phantoms endlessly as long as he maintained sufficient soul strength; and Null was currently harvesting thousands of beast souls to replenish him continuously.

"Haha, guess my soul cultivation can finally level up to Emperor Stage!" Cale laughed with satisfaction.

Though his cute spiritual pet would now endure hours of endless killing and repeated self-healing, it would serve Cale’s greater purpose.

And why wouldn’t it? Because Null wouldn’t even exist if not for its master.
