“Well, I could be wrong,” Emma added in a nonchalant tone, shrugging her shoulders. She leaned back in her chair, stretching languidly. “Can we start eating? I’m hungry,” she said again, her eyes glancing at Azura with a mocking glint as if silently saying, “Happy?”

Azura turned to Jordan, trying to put on her best smile to steer the conversation back to a more neutral ground. “Yes, let’s eat,” she immediately added. Her swift response made the annoying smile on Emma’s face disappear.

The servants moved efficiently, bringing out a spread of breakfast dishes and setting them neatly on the table. Platters of fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and freshly baked pastries appeared, filling the room with delicious aromas. Everyone began serving themselves, the tension easing as the focus shifted to the food in front of them.

They started eating and the conversation naturally shifted to lighter topics. None of them mentioned the party plans or the earlier tension. They chatted about the weather, recent news, and funny anecdotes from their day-to-day lives. It was a welcome break, a chance for everyone to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

“Emma, have you thought about where you want to go and when?” Allen asked, breaking the flow of casual conversation. He remembered his promise from yesterday and wanted to fulfill it.

Emma hummed thoughtfully, taking her time as she savored a bite of her croissant. “That’s it,” she finally said, as if she’d reached a grand conclusion.

Allen raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Where and when?”

Emma’s eyes lit up with excitement. “I want to go to the beach,” she declared, surprising Allen who had expected her to choose something like a theme park or a shopping spree. “And speaking of shopping, I want to go today to pick up some new swimsuits and beach gear.”

Allen blinked, processing her choice. “Are you sure?” he asked, a bit taken aback.

“Yes,” Emma said firmly, her excitement palpable.

Jordan reminded them, “Don’t forget to ask the security and bodyguards to accompany you. It’s important to stay safe.”

Emma nodded, acknowledging his concern. “Understood, Dad.”

Suddenly, a sly smile appeared on Azura’s face. “Since you’re going shopping, I’m coming along. I also need a couple of clothes,” she announced, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Emma’s sharp stare snapped to Azura, clearly annoyed. This was supposed to be a sibling outing, a special day just for her and Allen. “Seriously?” Emma muttered under her breath, though loud enough for Azura to hear.

Emma was in the middle of buttering her toast when Azura’s annoyingly smug smile caught her eye. Azura’s smile was a clear message, “That’s payback for teasing me earlier.” Emma’s fingers tightened around her knife, and she gritted her teeth, ready to snap back.

Before she could utter a word, Jordan interjected casually, “Also, don’t forget to ask Alex to prepare our private jet,” he said, taking another leisurely bite of his avocado toast.

Allen turned to him with a perplexed expression. “Private jet?” he asked, clearly bewildered by the casual mention of such extravagance.

“Yes,” Jordan replied, his tone as relaxed as ever. “You guys want to go to the beach, right?” He seemed genuinely puzzled by Allen’s confusion.

Emma sighed dramatically, rolling her eyes. “We’re going to the local beach, Dad. In this city. Not to our private beach,” she explained with an exasperated huff.

Emma’s explanation was enough to make Allen press his lips together, glancing back and forth between Emma and Jordan. Inside, he was screaming, “Goldborne has a private jet and a private beach?!” The stark contrast to his previous life was jarring. He had gone from struggling to make ends meet to being surrounded by unimaginable luxury.

Despite his shock, he tried to hide his feelings as best he could, not wanting to seem overwhelmed.

Jordan frowned, his expression showing genuine confusion. “Local beach? Why not ours?” he asked, clearly puzzled by the preference. “Do you like the beach? Is it beautiful? Should I buy it?” he asked again, his tone so casual that it sounded as if he were talking about buying groceries.

“Cause I just checked Allen’s photoshoot yesterday and found him taking lots of snaps of the view at that beach. I’m curious about that,” Emma admitted, her eyes glancing at Allen.

Allen looked at her in surprise, pausing mid-bite. “How do you know where I post my photos?” he asked, genuinely shocked.

Emma gave Allen a sly smile, clearly enjoying his reaction. “I also found out about your story. I’m reading it and I’m at chapter 129 now. I have to say the story is interesting,” she said in a teasing tone.

Allen felt his heart skip a beat. Panic surged within him. His story was a harem fantasy with some adult scenes, and the thought of Emma reading it made him incredibly uneasy. He pressed his lips together, trying to maintain his composure. “You’re reading my story?” he asked, his voice a bit strained.

Emma’s smile widened as she saw the panic in Allen’s eyes. “Congratulations for making everything you wrote in your story come true,” she said, her tone still teasing.

Allen’s mind raced. He had never expected his family to find out about his writing, let alone read it. He felt exposed. The breakfast he had been enjoying moments ago now felt like a lead weight in his stomach.

Jordan, sensing the shift in the atmosphere, looked between his children with curiosity. “Story? What story?”

Allen took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. “It’s just something I’ve been working on in my spare time,” he said, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside. “A fantasy novel.”

Emma chuckled, not letting him off the hook so easily. “A fantasy novel with some… colorful content,” she added, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Azura, intrigued by the exchange, leaned forward. “Wait, you’re a writer too? That’s amazing, Allen! I’d love to read your work.”

Allen felt cornered. “It’s nothing serious,” he said quickly. “Just a hobby.”
