Village System: Blessed With the Duty of Reproduction

Chapter 50: I got a past life, right? Lemme see that shit.

"What are those creatures?! Why are they so...so disgusting?" Kanan was repulsed by what he was seeing; the sheer brutality of the sight made him feel sick.

He had killed a person before, sure, tons of animals, and even some monsters, or beasts, as Nala put it. But this, this slaughter, Kanan never expected to see something as vile as this in his life.

"They are remnants of an ancient threat, one that Lord Nemean the Second handled years ago. This right here is the reason why our village is in dire need of warriors, hunters, guards, and you, the Village Shaman."

Kanan gulped after hearing his name and importance. He knew he was important, but not this important. The feeling he got from this situation was different from what he felt with the system.

He could save his village from the Typhon Tribe, but he didn’t know about these otherworldly-looking monsters. And frankly, he was a bit scared.

"Your role, Kanan, is the most vital of all. You can share your power to strengthen others, increase our standing for the future with your offspring, and now, with that extra blessing you got from Lord Nemean, you can provide us with the knowledge to further fortify our home. You are a godsend."

Right, Kanan finally understood his role, his position, his calling. Everything was overwhelming, yes, but that was the price for safety: to have his family and children grow up into fine men and women.

He already had two kids on the way and more to come. It was his duty to ensure they would be eating and sleeping well. So, Kanan took a deep breath and cleared his mind.

"What do I need to do?"

Nala smiled. "It’s too dangerous for you to get up close to those monsters, so we want you to support our warriors from behind. You will have warriors to protect you just in case one of those monsters slips past the defensive line."

"I can improve weapons." Kanan blurted

"What?"

"Weapons. My ability works on materials as well. Check with Igor; he’ll confirm it. I can also show you my staff, but that’s at home right now."

"Okay." Nala nodded. "Better weapons are something we need, so if you can improve them, then please see to it. With your power, I’m sure that we can push back those monsters enough to give us time to breathe."

"And what’s past the mountain? Do you think other Tribes live there?"

Nala snorted while patting Kanan on the back. "If anyone lives beyond the mountain range, then they are either mighty warriors or fools. These monsters aren’t even half of the dangers that exist beyond the mountain. We don’t venture out there."

Kanan nodded. "And the massive hole?"

"We’ve been trying to build a gate to prevent monsters from entering these parts, but their numbers are too overwhelming, and we are only able to defend them so much. This is why we were so thankful that this year’s Blessing Ceremony was so prosperous. Multiple Six Star warriors and so on. It was a blessing."

"I understand. I’ll help them right away."

"Ahh, no." Nala blocked him with her arm. "You have to take this in before helping. You’ve learned a lot today, so process this information first."

"But I can—"

"No. My decision is final. Don’t argue with me on this."

"Alright." He knew she was right, but still, the urge to help was surging through his body.

"Can you take me home, then?"

"Yeah, let’s go." She teleported them back to the village.

---

Glena and Viola were home when Kanan entered the hut. Since they wouldn’t be working for the foreseeable future, all of them would be seeing each other more often from now on.

He greeted them with a kiss, followed by rubbing their bellies, then went into one of the extra rooms they had so he could be alone.

There was something he wanted to do, something he needed to do: fully connect with his past life. He didn’t know how much it would change him, or if it would change him at all. But after glimpsing those memories and looking at the system, Kanan knew that he needed to elevate his mind to a higher degree.

"System, please have me fully connect with my past life."

[The host will be unconscious for approximately three hours and will not be able to wake up until those three hours are up. Do you wish to proceed?]

"Yes."

[Fully merging past life memories into the host’s mind and soul.]

A sudden invisible force rammed into his mind, instantly knocking Kanan out, yet once he passed out, he was already awake in another world in his mind.

He looked around, eyeing the odd architecture, furniture, and clothing. There was a large window to his side, one that showed that he was in some building high in the sky, and it slightly freaked him out.

"Holy! W-What’s...W-Wait, a skyscraper! I’m in a skyscraper! A-And that’s a bed, a proper bed. That’s a clock, a-and that’s a TV! Haha! Wow! This is amazing!"

Though he was currently experiencing a modern lifestyle, he was still Kanan from the Stone Age, so everything felt surreal and baffling. Yet the more he understood, the more familiar everything became until he fully understood that this was where he had come from.

"I understand now." He knew how to work a TV, how to order something on his phone, and how to look up things on the internet.

He could comprehend modern concepts that would make any primitive being lose their mind, such as the microscopic world or even outer space.

Yet, even after fully understanding all of this and reliving his past life, Kanan was still Kanan. He was no different than before, only gaining a plethora of knowledge and understanding of where he had come from.

He wouldn’t change, and he wasn’t a different person now. Instead, he was a being who could fully comprehend the system and use it to its maximum potential to better help his Tribe.

Finally, after three hours, Kanan relived all of his memories and woke up feeling better than ever. To his side, Viola was resting with his arm smothered between her boobs, and they had a blanket over them.

’I know what I have to do.’
