Village System: Blessed With the Duty of Reproduction
Chapter 30: The breeding schedule
Being the Village Chief meant that you were the most important person in the village. Whatever they said went, and the people looked up to them for guidance. In their eyes, the chief was also the person closest to their god, being blessed with the role of leading their people.
This meant that the village chief had the best hut in the entire village. Calling it a hut wasn’t the right term to use. In truth, the place was a large cabin.
The wooden structure was built above the ground to signify the status of the chief, not living on the same level as the others. Totem Poles resembling those of the Spirit Totem acted as support beams for the elevated cabin, while the bottom layer of the cabin, which would normally be the ground floor, acted as a place to store items.
Leading up to the door was a staircase consisting of twenty steps with a railing for support. A balcony stretched around the whole cabin, also having a railing around it, and two statues of Totem Poles rested on each side of the door.
Standing on the ground level, preventing others from climbing the stairs, were two guards, tasked with protecting the chief and his family.
Noticing Kanan approaching, one of the guards waved and greeted Kanan with respect. "Ahh, Breeder Kanan, you’re here. Please, go on up; the chief is waiting for you."
Though his title was honorable, he wasn’t used to being addressed respectfully yet.
"You don’t have to call me that. Kanan is fine." He clarified.
The guards were a bit surprised. They didn’t think that Kanan would become arrogant or anything, but they expected him to at least like the title. So, wanting to be addressed casually when he had a role that was more significant than the village chief was surprising. Humble, but surprising.
"Haha! That’s Kanan for you." The other guard laughed. "How about we call you by your title in formal settings, huh?"
Kanan nodded. He didn’t mind that. "Yeah, that sounds good."
"Great! Then, Kanan, get your butt up there! You shouldn’t keep the chief waiting."
"Oh! Right! See you!" Kanan climbed up the stairs.
"What a great young man. I should see if my daughter wished to bear his child."
"My mate can still bear children. I wonder if I can get her to bear his child as well."
The two guards looked at each other and nodded, thinking on the same page.
---
Chief Solan’s hut was large inside as it was outside. Similar to Viola’s hut and Yala’s hut, areas were sectioned off via walls. Rooms were dedicated to specific roles, such as sleeping, cooking, storing items, and so on.
Kanan had always seen Solan’s hut from the outside, but seeing it from the inside was just as impressive, especially the decorations.
Above the firepit sat the head of a tiger, which had been embedded; more totem poles were standing in each room, and the quality of the animal mats on the floor was the best Kanan had ever laid eyes on.
"Wow!" He exclaimed, looking around at the utter beauty of the home.
"My father likes to decorate." Omula walked over from another room, one hand on her hip as she eyed Kanan from head to toe.
"Hey, Omula. Is the Chief around? I was summoned by him."
She raised an eyebrow, then sighed. Walking over to Kanan, she linked an arm with him, then gazed at his face.
"You know, your role is as important as my father’s, maybe even more important. So, walk with confidence."
"I do walk with confidence. I also know when and where to show respect."
She didn’t argue with that. "You don’t need to show as much respect now that you’re the Village Shaman."
"That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t show respect. As elders of the village, it is our duty to follow their example and learn from them. Therefore, we show respect, regardless of title."
"Fine words for a fine man." The Chief walked into the room. "Come, we have much to discuss."
Kanan followed Solan with Omula still glued to his side. He was led to the chief’s management room, the place where he handled the affairs of the village.
Inside the room, Pema sat at a table and smiled when Kanan walked in. It was only the four of them in the room, no elders and no guards.
Each of them took a seat, with Omula sitting on Kanan’s lap. Her plump ass sat perfectly on his cock, and she even started to grind her hips slightly to feel how big he was.
Whether or not it was a ploy to get him to fall for her, Kanan didn’t know. This didn’t mean he was going to stop her.
"Over the past few days, I spoke with the Elders about how to go about your role. It’s been so long that I had to pull out the ancient texts to further understand what you are to do, besides breeding, of course."
’So that’s why it took a bit before they called for me. But that’s to be expected. Only one shaman can exist at a time, and the last one died centuries ago.’
"For starters, regarding your mates, we already went over this the other day, so we don’t have to brush up on that too much. If you want only one, that’s fine. If you want more, that’s fine as well."
A feeling of relief washed over Kanan’s body. He was glad that the Chief and Elders didn’t go back on their word, forcing him to have more mates than he wanted.
"You had already wished for Viola to be your mate, and it was we who pushed Omula onto you, so this is why we are saying you can have as many as you wish."
"I hope you don’t think ill of us, dear." Pema smiled, yet her hand slightly trembled.
"I’m sure you don’t have any ill intentions. I also believe that connecting blood is something that’s needed to show a sense of unity throughout the village. For now, I wish to get to know Omula better before making my decision."
Everyone smiled. Pema and the chief were happy that Kanan didn’t see them as opportunists.
"Next is your role, breeding. A formal announcement will be made within the week, but we wanted to run this by you first. Starting a month after the announcement, two women will be sent to your hut to carry your child. This process will happen once every two months. How does this sound?"
Kanan thought it over before answering. ’Basically, I will be seeing the same two women for a month straight and get two months of rest from my role. I don’t see any problems with that. I’m actually surprised that more women a month won’t be sent to bear my children.’
So, Kanan asked just that.
"It’s for you to get adjusted to your role. The more comfortable you become, the more women can be added, and the more frequently breeding can take place. This is if you don’t mind, of course. It’s just that your blood and role are extremely important. You alone are the pillar who will ensure that the next generation is strong. Plus, your task eliminates the curse we have."
This was the truth, and Kanan accepted the terms. "What if I wish to mate outside of that schedule?"
"You mean during your resting period?" Pema asked
"Resting period, or even during my mating period."
"I don’t see a problem with that." The chief wasn’t about to stop Kanan from spreading his seed. "The more the merrier anyway."
