Village System: Blessed With the Duty of Reproduction

Chapter 2: You’re growing after all

Kanan’s body stood frozen as he stared at the floating holographic screen in front of him. Its green hue shone in his eyes, yet the light it generated didn’t seem to hit anywhere else. He was confused. Abilities did exist, but something like a system didn’t. So he scrubbed through his mind to understand what was happening.

[System granted to the host by the God Nemean the Second. The host must save the village from destruction.]

’First, I learned that I’ve been reincarnated, and now I have to save the village from destruction?’ Kanan had no idea what the screen was talking about, but he did know who Nemean the Second was. He was one of the gods his village worshiped. Nemean the First is the father of the Second, the other god they worship.

Due to being born into this primitive world, Kanan couldn’t help but be honored that he was given such a gift by the gods, but he still didn’t understand why they had chosen him.

"Kanan? Aren’t you coming?" Yala asked, confused about why he was still at the entrance.

"Ah, y-yes." The screen vanished, and Kanan followed Yala.

Her hut was larger than normal, built out of premium wood and stone instead of clay, straw, and basic wood. There were dedicated rooms for specific tasks, such as a cooking area, a sleeping area, a bathing area, and even an area where Yala treated patients.

This place wasn’t her home, but it could be used as one.

Kanan couldn’t help but be impressed by the hut’s amazing design and space. His own hut only had one open area, and everything was done there. That was the difference between regular folk and people of status.

Status was earned by merit, so even though Yala’s hut was larger than his own, she was still humble and worked hard to get where she was.

"Come, sit. Let me look at you."

Kanan sat down on a wooden stool as Yala pulled back his hair to check his injury. She nodded after assessing how bad it was and smiled when she concluded that he was going to be fine.

Tapping his injured spot, a green light flashed from her hand, and the wound not only healed, but his throbbing headache went away.

"There, your head should be fine now. As for your back," She had Kanan turn around, and she placed her cold hands on his back, a green glow coming from her hands as she tried to heal him once more.

"Hmm, I’ve seen an injury like this before."

"Is it bad?"

"Normally, yes. But for you, no. This is odd. This wound is common when a person is struck by lightning. Lightning strikes normally kill a person, yet here you are, alive and well."

"T-That’s good, right?"

"Yes. While I believe you would have been fine either way, I’ve healed the damage to your back, but the scar will remain. You should thank the gods for protecting you."

Kanan remembered the system. ’Maybe that system protected me from dying?’

"Thank you, Healer Yala. I feel much better. I brought you this deer as payment."

Yala glanced at the deer. It was a pretty big one, most likely a stag. She smiled and nodded. This was more than enough payment, especially for treating non-serious injuries.

"Yes, this is enough. More than enough, even. So, as a treat, as long as you have minor injuries, I will treat you five more times for free. How does that sound? I’ll even treat you for free for one big injury."

"What? For free? Are you sure?"

"I live alone, so this stag will last me a while, especially with the food rations I currently have. I also know that you went hunting for Glena today. It would be rude of me to take your hunt for treating such a minor injury."

There were roles in the village, roles that determined the future of an individual. Yala was a healer, the best healer in the village, so she was a very important asset. Payment was required, no matter the injury, though the payment was proportional to the injury.

"Truthfully, treating such an injury would require payment of a squirrel, or a rabbit at most." 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

Kanan got up and bowed. "Thank you, Healer Yala."

"You’re welcome. Now go back home. I don’t want Glena to worry."

He nodded, then left her home.

Arriving back at his hut, Kanan sat down with Glena to eat dinner. It was rabbit stew with a few vegetables grown from the village garden. The seasoning was pretty bland, but that was because spices were very important, as they were used for more than just seasoning food.

"What time do you plan on hunting tomorrow?" Glena asked.

"In the morning. I don’t want to be out late again or be caught by the rain."

"You know it can rain in the morning, right?"

Kanan swallowed his food. "Yes. But daytime rain is better than nighttime rain.

"I guess that’s true. Dilon taught you well."

The atmosphere shifted slightly as raw emotions filled the room. Dilon was Glena’s mate who had died three years ago due to an attack on the village. He was a proud warrior who defended his home with honor.

Dilon was also Kanan’s cousin, his only family. Many people lost their lives around ten years ago when there was an attack on the village by the Typhon Tribe. That day, they lost their parents, and Dilon even lost his younger brother.

Since Kanan was his only remaining family, he took him under his wing and trained him as a warrior and hunter.

Glena wasn’t Kanan’s blood relative, but she treated him as such. They were family, and that wasn’t going to change.

"I want to be as great as him one day. No, I will be."

Glena smiled, and soon after, they finished eating their food.

"Come, Kanan. Let’s get you cleaned up before rest."

Though it was raining, this didn’t mean that they couldn’t clean themselves. Built onto their hut on the side was a canopy that reached the ground, a dry spot where the rain would only touch if the wind blew.

There, Glena grabbed some herbs, wrapped them in some thin animal skin, and wet them with rainwater.

After taking off their clothes, she began to scrub Kanan, cleaning him of the dirt that sullied his body.

Her pristine tan skin shone in his eyes, small droplets of rain bouncing off her as the canopy was barely large enough for two people. Her breasts swayed hypnotically with each scrub, and her hair curled from being wet.

If it weren’t for Kanan’s past life memories resurfacing, this sight would have been normal for him. Now, however, he couldn’t help but admire the amazing body the gods had gifted her. As she was scrubbing Kanan, he had a natural reaction.

"Oh my." Glena glanced up at Kanan, who turned away while blushing slightly.

"It’s okay, dear. You’re around that age now, so it’s only natural. When you find a mate, you’ll understand. I must say, you were well endowed. I hope you continue to grow well."

Such a natural reaction to Kanan’s predicament. Almost motherly. He wanted to stop her and steal her lips with his own.

After she scrubbed Kanan, he scrubbed her, his hands moving all over her body. Glena’s skin was smooth and soft. His hands glided along her body with ease, and he didn’t miss a spot while scrubbing her body.

He kneaded her breasts, partly for pleasure and partly for cleaning. If Glena realized, she didn’t say anything and let him continue what he was doing.

Soon after, he had scrubbed her whole body, finishing with her plump ass before telling her that he was done. They washed off in the rain and headed back inside, where they dried themselves with a blanket and sat in front of the fire to warm up.

"Good night, Kanan."

"Goodnight, Aunt Glena." He put out the fire, and only the sound of rain could be heard through the darkness.
