Vile Evil Hides Under The Veil

Chapter 2015: Imparting True Demon Names

Chapter 2015: Imparting True Demon Names

Eren landed on the rocky shore of a nameless island, his WindFire Wings folding behind him before vanishing into wisps of mana.

The wind here was cold and carried the scent of scorched earth and fresh sea air.

The sky above had already calmed after the last wave of lightning had fallen, but the tension in the air hadn't disappeared.

The ground beneath his feet was uneven, filled with broken stone and scattered patches of dried grass. It looked like the island hadn't been touched in years.

Now, it had two unconscious figures lying in the center of a hastily drawn healing formation.

Marina and Azurea landed beside him, their gazes fixed on the scene.

Two of the Root captains had been brought here by the helpers Eren had assigned—one warlock and one witch. The helpers stood a short distance away, watching anxiously.

Eren walked forward and crouched beside the witch. Her condition made his eyes narrow.

Her skin was melting. Not like a burn—more like her body had turned unstable. Her limbs looked too soft, and parts of her face were already losing shape.

She looked like a slime creature halfway through breaking apart. Her soul was strong, now a true demonic soul, but her body couldn't keep up.

One had to note that her slime form was completely different from Eren's. It was not a boon but a curse.

It seemed as if her genetic composition had been altered a lot, something which was not made acceptable by her in the eyes of Labh Salem's World Will. as such, she was suffering from the consequence of cellular degradation and destruction.

"She's turning into a puddle," Azurea said, frowning. "What's going on with her?"

Eren didn't answer right away. He placed his hand near the witch's chest without touching her, inspecting her soul's condition through his senses along with his Mana Sense and Soul Sense.

"She's done transforming," he said at last, his tone quiet but firm. "She made it to S-Rank. But her physical body's breaking down. If that happens, her demonic soul won't stay here anymore. It'll be sent straight to the Hvergelmir Springs."

"What happens after that?" Marina asked.

"She'll become a loose soul in the Demon Realm," Eren explained.

"Without a body, she'll be just another demon. If she wants to return to the living world, she'll have to find a vessel to possess. But that kind of possession… it won't let her come back as who she was. She'll lose herself.

Most new demons lose their sense of identity if they are not strong enough to retain them. I can bring her back from the demon realm using a summoning ritual but it won't be the same. And by the time she returns, she would have lost most of her newly gained powers."

He stood up and walked to the other side, where the warlock was lying. His skin had turned black and cracked, almost burnt to ash. His chest rose and fell faintly. One of his arms had been completely charred, and his breathing was rough.

"This one's worse than he looks," Eren said grimly. "His body might hold on for another day or two, but his soul is already unstable. The lightning burned both his flesh and his spirit."

Azurea crossed her arms, her expression stiff. "So… it's not just a healing issue. Their souls have changed and suffered."

Eren nodded.

"Well… they're demons now. Demons with mortal bodies are fiends. But if they lose their bodies, they would change into their base soul-like forms, losing their qualifications to remain as fiends.

If I don't fix both their bodies and their souls, they'll die. Not just physically… but vanish from Labh Salem altogether."

He sighed and looked up at the sky.

"This is the risk of fiend transformation. We're lucky eighteen of them did. But these two…"

He looked back down at the witch and the warlock. Their bodies trembled with every breath they took.

"I'll do what I can," Eren said.

He rolled up his sleeves and began gathering mana in his hands. Without another word, Eren raised a hand and summoned an Empusa.

A strange ripple tore through the air, and from it emerged a serpentine figure with a ghostly grace. Her body coiled like a spirit serpent, but her face held Nina's features.

She said nothing as she floated to the center of the healing formation. At Eren's small gesture, she closed her eyes and began weaving strands of healing energy into the wounded bodies.

Pale green lights danced across her hands as she poured her unique restorative powers into the formations, reinforcing the physical vessels of the two fiends.

While the Empusa worked, Eren activated his seven overlapping Sin Series Domains.

He stood between the two fallen figures and extended his hands. One by one, motes of different-colored mana gathered around him—deep red for Wrath, vibrant gold for Greed, and so on. The seven types of mana flowed like ink across invisible parchment.

With careful precision, Eren wrote demonic runes in the air. These weren't ordinary symbols—they were markers of identity, anchoring the chaotic fluctuations of a demonic soul to a single name.

He looked down at the witch, her body glowing faintly beneath the Empusa's spell. He whispered something, and the runes of her true demonic name shimmered before fusing into her chest.

He turned to the warlock before whispering his true demon name as well.

Since the true demon names were in the demonic language, they couldn't be spoken using Labh Salem's tongue. It would sound gibberish if Eren tried doing that anyway.

The moment he spoke the name, the same thing happened—the energy inscriptions sank into the warlock's body, calming the turbulence within.

The twin dragonesses stood silently, watching the scene unfold.

After a few more tense moments, the Empusa finished her work. The healing formations dimmed, and a soft wind blew through the clearing.

Then, the two Root members stirred.

Their eyes opened slowly—no longer flickering with pain, but glowing with stable, demonic energy. Their forms had stabilized. Horns curled over their heads.

Runes marked their skin. Their aura was dense but calm. They both pushed themselves up and knelt before Eren, heads bowed low.

"Thank you, my liege," they said together, their voices deep and steady.

Eren exhaled in relief and gave them a nod.

"Welcome to your new life," he said simply.

With the two Root members saved, Eren had successfully claimed complete ownership of 20 S-Rank elites from Root.
