Meanwhile, a forest of crimson tentacles erupted from the ground behind Shen Daoxing, blocking his path.

It was clear the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter despised Shen Daoxing to its very core. It was going for a killing blow from the start, intending to blast him to smithereens.

But just then, Shen Daoxing slowly raised his hand and lightly snapped his fingers.

The bronze bell inside the Stone Palace, situated in the very center of Stone City, immediately began to sway, letting out a deep, lingering toll.

This was the original Restriction within Stone City used to control the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter.

And it was now in Shen Daoxing’s control.

As the bell tolled, the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter froze, seemingly under some influence. Its gaze grew hazy. The myriad of savage, blood-red eyes covering its body softened, and the crimson light within them dissipated as if the beast were about to fall asleep.

Shen Daoxing smiled faintly. The Celestial Origin Spiritual Power and Earth Source Spiritual Power inside him erupted in a brilliant display. A seven-colored light flared as his towering, impassive, and majestic Golden Body Dharma Aspect materialized in the sky.

"Venerable Invincible, Venerable Fist."

Shen Daoxing then gave a faint smile and, without a shred of courtesy, raised his fist high. A brilliant black and gold light flared around it as he brought it crashing down on the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter’s head.

"BAM!"

The lake’s surface exploded in a shower of spray. The Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter’s entire head was smashed flat as it plummeted to the bottom of the lake.

A jolt of excruciating pain shot through the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter, snapping it out of its drowsy state.

"ROAR!"

The Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter let out a mournful howl, enraged. ’This kid is despicable! Using the Restriction Master Dan Chen left behind to fight me again and again... he’s too cunning!’

Suddenly, the aura of the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter’s colossal body surged. Its crimson tentacles shot up around Shen Daoxing like the bars of a cage, instantly trapping him. Savage eyes snapped open all over them, and a great red light began to build, about to erupt into those terrifying crimson beams once more.

Yet, Shen Daoxing simply raised his hand again and lightly snapped his fingers.

The bell in the Stone Imperial Palace chimed once more.

The Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter froze, and every eye on its body grew hazy.

Taking this opportunity, Shen Daoxing leaped up once more.

"BOOM!" He threw another heavy punch.

It was followed by the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter’s agonized cry.

’Humiliating! This is utterly humiliating!’

’In the past, aside from Master Dan Chen, the disciples of Pengze Immortal Island couldn’t get away from me fast enough. None of them would ever have been this brazen!’

The Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter was furious.

Once his Spiritual Power was mostly restored, Shen Daoxing smiled faintly, leaped up, expanded in size, and jumped back into Stone City.

The Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter, on the other hand, was suffering in silence. ’This outrageously arrogant brat is too detestable, too despicable!’ But there was still nothing it could do about him.

「Until one day.」

Shen Daoxing descended slowly from the sky, landing inside Stone City. He found his surroundings completely silent. The Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter wasn’t launching its usual frenzied attack.

Without a word, Shen Daoxing walked to the edge of the lake in the center of Stone City.

The surface of the lake shimmered, but it remained deathly still.

Shen Daoxing focused his gaze and looked closely. He saw the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter cowering in the deepest part of the lakebed. It had curled up all its tentacles, wrapping them layer after layer around its head until it resembled a motionless ball, quietly hiding on the lake floor.

"???"

Shen Daoxing stared for a moment, then plunged into the water with a SPLASH. He swam down and came to a stop in front of the balled-up Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter.

However, even with Shen Daoxing right in front of it, the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter remained motionless, still curled into a ball with every one of its demon eyes squeezed shut.

Shen Daoxing paused for a moment before throwing a punch, smashing it heavily against the creature’s body. It felt like he had just punched a rock forged from Golden Essence.

But the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter still didn’t stir in the slightest.

Then, when Shen Daoxing wasn’t looking, the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter suddenly shifted. It rolled a few times across the lakebed and burrowed deep into the sand and silt, hiding itself completely.

’Damn! I beat it so badly it’s had a mental breakdown!’

Shen Daoxing stared, utterly dumbfounded.

’Jeez, this Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter is a mid-stage Refining Dust realm expert, for crying out loud. It’s supposed to be the most terrifying demonic beast on Pengze Immortal Island!’

’Does it have no sense of pride?’

Stunned once more, Shen Daoxing went to where the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter was hiding and threw a punch. A large crater immediately blasted open on the lakebed.

But the Thousand-Eyed Demon Chapter, still curled into a ball in the depths of the crater, didn’t move an inch.

Shen Daoxing tried several more tactics, but he couldn’t get any reaction out of the creature.

Feeling helpless, Shen Daoxing shook his head. He had no choice but to give up and find a new target.

Suddenly, Shen Daoxing shot up into the air. He summoned his Great Ming Demon Sparrow, stepped onto its back, and flew into the sky. He then turned to look past Pengze Immortal Island, toward the depths of the Spirit Vein Lake.

The Celestial Origin and Earth Source Spiritual Power within him were already showing signs of fusion after his continuous tempering. This was a critical juncture; he couldn’t just give up halfway.

Suddenly, Shen Daoxing leaped down from the sky, diving into Yun Meng Lake. He swam toward its depths, and soon arrived at the hiding place of the Flood Dragon.

"ROAR!"

Suddenly, an enraged roar echoed from the lakebed.

A colossal figure immediately erupted from the mud on the lake floor.

The ferocious Cloud Dream Flood Dragon raised its head high, opened two savage eyes, and appeared before Shen Daoxing with a menacing glare.

Shen Daoxing had toyed with it time and again. Now that the Flood Dragon saw him once more, there was no way it would let him off easy.
