Venerable Supreme of Myriad Dragons
Chapter 383: Yun Meng Lake
Shen Daoxing raised his head and looked earnestly at Xin.
"As it happens, I have a Heart Method here that’s suitable for you. At first, it can only awaken eighteen of the body’s acupoints, making it a rather ordinary Heart Method. But if you’re willing to work hard, it’s entirely possible to develop it into a Celestial Tier Heart Method and open seventy-two acupoints. Xin, are you afraid of hard work?"
Xin paused for a moment, then immediately shook his head. "I’m not afraid!"
Shen Daoxing nodded. "Good. Sit down. I will now teach you the mantra. You must commit it to heart."
"Yes!"
Xin nodded, obediently crossed his legs, and sat down opposite Shen Daoxing.
Shen Daoxing’s lips moved slightly as he recited a profound and mysterious mantra.
Xin’s eyes widened as he listened intently, afraid he might miss a single word.
Although Xin’s cultivation talent was not high, his memory was excellent. Shen Daoxing only recited it once, and Xin memorized it completely.
Immediately, Xin crossed his legs and closed his eyes tightly. A faint glow surfaced on his skin, a sign that he was beginning to comprehend the Guiyuan Heart Method. Shen Daoxing couldn’t help but nod in approval.
Seeing this, Elder Mu hurried forward, clasped his hands, and bowed respectfully to Shen Daoxing. "Young Master Shen, my grandson and I will never forget the great kindness you have shown us today!"
’A Heart Method that can be upgraded! One that can ultimately open seventy-two acupoints!’
’Xin was too inexperienced to understand its value, but how could Elder Mu not know?’
’On the path of cultivation, the Heart Method was the very foundation of one’s practice. The quality of a Heart Method could be said to determine the ultimate limit of a person’s growth.’
’That was why a good Heart Method was of utmost importance to any practitioner.’
’And the Heart Methods that the great clans of the East Continent guarded as priceless heirlooms could typically only open thirty-six acupoints.’
’The fact that this Guiyuan Heart Method could open seventy-two acupoints was simply astonishing.’
’Moreover, since this Heart Method could grow along with the cultivator, it bypassed the need for innate talent. That made it even more precious than a Celestial Tier Heart Method!’
At this thought, Elder Mu bowed respectfully to Shen Daoxing once more.
Shen Daoxing stood and quickly helped Elder Mu to his feet. "Elder Mu, what are you saying? I was lucky to have you and Xin on this journey. Otherwise, I’d have never escaped the Celestial Profound Sacred Land’s pursuit. This is nothing in comparison."
He was right. Ever since leaving Daqian’s Ancient Moon City, Shen Daoxing had been relentlessly hunted by the Celestial Profound Sacred Land. It was all thanks to Elder Mu and Xin piloting the Cloud Ship to aid him. Without their help, he would have been caught by the Celestial Profound Sacred Land long ago, fallen into their hands, and suffered a death with no burial to follow.
So, compared to the debt he owed Xin and Elder Mu, this humble Cultivation Technique was nothing at all.
As he spoke, Shen Daoxing looked at Elder Mu again, his gaze falling upon the man’s crippled leg.
Suddenly, Shen Daoxing asked the Blood Dragon in his mind, ’Elder Blood Dragon, is there a Secret Divine Skill that can restore a crippled body, one that’s suitable for an ordinary person to practice?’
’Of course.’
The Blood Dragon’s ancient, wizened voice slowly echoed in Shen Daoxing’s mind.
Immediately, an incredibly profound Cultivation Technique appeared in Shen Daoxing’s mind.
Shen Daoxing immediately looked at Mu Yiheng. "By the way, Elder Mu, I happen to have a Cultivation Technique that can restore a crippled body. It will make your leg as good as new. I’ll pass it on to you now as well."
Hearing this, Elder Mu froze. His leg had been crippled thirty years ago after he was framed by the Celestial Profound Sacred Land and the Business Alliance. Now, hearing that it might possibly be restored, he was suddenly overcome with emotion and began to bend his knees to kneel before Shen Daoxing.
Shen Daoxing quickly reached out and stopped him. "Elder Mu, you mustn’t. I’ve relied on you and Xin for this entire journey. This is merely me repaying your kindness. There’s no need for such ceremony."
Then, Shen Daoxing’s lips moved slightly as he murmured, reciting the Cultivation Technique for Elder Mu.
And so, time trickled by.
For the next few days, Shen Daoxing stayed in the quiet room to guide Xin’s training.
Under Shen Daoxing’s guidance, Xin progressed quickly, gaining a basic mastery of the Guiyuan Heart Method.
Aside from guiding Xin, Shen Daoxing also took time to go out and gather information about Cangzhou and the Cyan Nether Sword Sect.
Five or six days passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, the massive Cloud Ship soared high in the sky, the vast and beautiful landscape of Cangzhou retreating steadily behind them.
Shen Daoxing sat by the window, watching the scenery pass by.
Suddenly, the Cloud Ship jolted, its flight speed decreased, and it began to descend through the clouds.
The view before Shen Daoxing suddenly opened up, revealing a vast and boundless lake ahead.
The lake was immense, so vast that one could not see its shores; it seemed to merge with the horizon.
This boundless expanse of water was Yun Meng Lake, the domain of the Cyan Nether Sword Sect. Legend told that tens of millions of years ago, an invincible Great Sword Immortal had carved it out with a single sword strike, then used a Heaven-Reaching Technique to unearth a Spiritual Vein and fill it with Spiritual Water.
Thus, the entirety of Yun Meng Lake was, in fact, a gigantic Celestial Essence Spirit Lake—the very source of the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Power in this region.
To use an entire Celestial Essence Spirit Lake as the site for one’s sect was a feat of unparalleled grandeur.
In other lands, a Celestial Essence Spirit Lake was considered the very lifeblood of a power. It would be heavily protected, layered with multiple Restrictions, and designated as an absolute Forbidden Land, all for fear that it might be stolen or destroyed, thereby ruining the destiny of the entire domain.
Even from a great distance, without having drawn near, Shen Daoxing could feel waves of surging Spiritual Power washing over him.
As the Cloud Ship flew onward, a towering mountain peak suddenly appeared before Shen Daoxing’s eyes, standing tall on the shores of Yun Meng Lake.
The peak was immense, soaring so high that it pierced the Cloud Sea, its summit invisible to the naked eye.
Looking from a distance, Shen Daoxing could see numerous cultivators flying between the peaks on their Flying Swords. Those were the disciples of the Cyan Nether Sword Sect.
However, these were merely outer disciples of the Cyan Nether Sword Sect. The true heart of the sect was said to be on the Suspended Island in the middle of Yun Meng Lake—a true paradise fit for immortals. Only the Inner Disciples of the Cyan Nether Sword Sect or the Direct Disciples of the various Island Masters were permitted to live there.
At that moment, the Cloud Ship moved forward slowly, arriving at the base of the massive peak. It gradually descended, landing in a city at the foot of the mountain.
This city was named Yunxi, and it was the most important town linking the Cyan Nether Sword Sect with the outside world.
Shen Daoxing led Elder Mu and Xin out of the landing port and into the town. The wide streets were lined with shops on both sides.
As Shen Daoxing walked down the street with Xin, he saw a Rare Treasures Pavilion that sold Mountain and Wild Spirits, a Martial Arts Shop that peddled all sorts of Magical Divine Soldiers, as well as various Elixir Shops and Talisman Studios.
There was even a Wind Flower Tower, where graceful young women stood at the entrance, beckoning to passersby.
The pedestrians on the street were mostly Rangers, Loose Cultivators, Daoists, and Monks.
