Venerable Supreme of Myriad Dragons
Chapter 374: Some Things Are Better Left Unknown
As it spoke, the little red snake couldn't help but lift its head and sneer.
Suddenly, a sorrowful expression appeared on its face. It silently gazed at the eastern sky as if speaking to someone, 'Venerable Supreme, was your choice back then truly the right one? Just look at the Celestial Court today!'
Shen Daoxing listened intently from the side, feeling as if he had overheard something extraordinary. But just then, the little red snake's words came to an abrupt halt.
This made Shen Daoxing curious. "Elder Blood Dragon, what exactly happened back then? Why are so many ancient war criminals from the Celestial Court imprisoned in this Venerable Domain? And why does the Celestial Court consider us a thorn in their side?"
Hearing this, the little red snake silently shook its head. "Kid, it's not yet time for you to know these things. The more you know about certain matters, the more danger you're in. Even just knowing a few names could get you noticed by those fellows in the Upper Realm. If they deduce your existence, they could wipe you out with a mere flick of their finger."
A chill ran down Shen Daoxing's spine. He said no more, but his curiosity about Elder Blood Dragon's past and the secrets of the Venerable Domain only grew stronger.
At that moment, a series of footsteps echoed—TAP, TAP, TAP.
Then, several familiar voices were heard:
"How did we end up back inside?"
"Are we going to run into something terrifying again?"
"We're just supposed to be hauling goods, not going on an adventure! Why do we always end up in these strange places?"
It was Chu Guifeng, Ma Wan, and Tao Ying, who had suddenly fallen into the grand hall and gotten lost again.
CREAK!
The great doors of the hall were slowly pushed open, and Chu Guifeng, Ma Wan, Tao Ying, and the others walked in, spotting Shen Daoxing.
Everyone instantly breathed a sigh of relief, their worries easing. It was as if with Shen Daoxing around, any problem could be easily solved.
But when they saw the Celestial Demon beside Shen Daoxing, they couldn't help but feel a shudder of inexplicable fear, even though she currently had the appearance of a beautiful young woman.
At that moment, Mola slowly extended a finger, pointing it at the group. "Master," she asked indifferently, "are these your friends?"
Everyone's hearts skipped a beat, and they tensed up.
Shen Daoxing nodded.
Only then did Mola lower her finger, and the group felt their tension ease.
Immediately after, the sound of clapping echoed—CLAP, CLAP, CLAP.
Mola had gently clapped her hands.
Instantly, wisps of red Demonic Qi rose within the hall, slowly coalescing into graceful serving maids who began bustling about, both inside and outside the hall.
Then, Mola looked at Shen Daoxing with utmost respect. "Master, you must be weary from your journey. Please, rest here in my Celestial Demon City."
As she spoke, she clapped her hands again, and graceful maids emerged, carrying trays of fine wine and delicacies.
Mola led Shen Daoxing and the others into a magnificent grand hall.
Mola guided Shen Daoxing forward to the main seat in the center, gesturing for him to sit.
Shen Daoxing paused for a moment before slowly taking his seat. Beside him, the little red snake had already sat down without any ceremony.
Immediately, a graceful maid served the fine wine and delicacies.
The wine shimmered with a faint, iridescent light, accompanied by a refreshing and soul-soothing aroma.
The mouth-watering Spirit Beast Meat had an overwhelming fragrance, and it was clear at a glance that this was no ordinary fare.
SQUEAK, SQUEAK!
The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat let out a sudden, high-pitched cry. Its nose twitched as it caught the enticing scent. How could it possibly be left out of a feast? It immediately scrambled on all fours toward Shen Daoxing.
Behind it was a short-legged kitten, also running, drool dripping from its mouth.
But as the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat neared Shen Daoxing and saw the little red snake beside him, it froze, skidding to a halt. When the red snake shot it a sidelong glance, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat trembled, backed away, and sat obediently to the side.
Chi Yi, however, who was right behind the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat, paid no mind to any of this. Seeing the table of delicacies, its eyes gleamed, and it pounced forward.
Seeing this, the little red snake merely glanced sideways at Chi Yi. "No manners!"
There was no visible movement from the little red snake.
BANG!
Chi Yi's body, mid-pounce, was suddenly struck by something. It froze in the air for an instant before plummeting straight down.
MEOW!
Seemingly displeased, Chi Yi immediately leaped to its feet and looked up, ready to furiously confront whichever sneaky fellow had attacked it. Then, its gaze abruptly met the little red snake's eyes.
With just a single, indifferent glance, Chi Yi, without any warning, suddenly lifted its paws, clutched its head, and began rolling relentlessly on the ground as if under some kind of mental attack, its face contorted in agony.
The strange thing was, it couldn't make a single sound. It could only roll silently and continuously on the floor.
The Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat, watching from the side, shivered and sat bolt upright, waiting obediently under the table, not daring to even look at the little red snake.
Seeing this, Mola, who was standing nearby, smiled faintly, as if she knew the little red snake's temperament. She clapped her hands and ordered two maids to come over, prepare a portion of food, and place it in front of the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat and Chi Yi.
But even so, the Golden-Eyed Treasure-Seeking Rat, which usually had zero resistance to food, didn't dare take a bite.
Below the main seat in the grand hall, Chu Guifeng, Ma Wan, Tao Ying, and Luo An slowly sat down at two rows of low tables. They stared up at the Nine Nether Celestial Demon waiting on Shen Daoxing with such reverence, their faces still filled with disbelief.
"Tell me, what is Yang's background, really? No matter how you look at it, he doesn't seem like some young master from an ordinary family!"
Even the simple-minded Luo An could tell that there was more to Shen Daoxing than met the eye, so he couldn't help but ask.
Chu Guifeng, Ma Wan, and Tao Ying, who knew Shen Daoxing's true identity, exchanged a glance, but simply smiled, drank their wine, and said nothing.
"Some things are better left unknown," Ma Wan reminded him kindly.
This only made Luo An even more confused.
「While Shen Daoxing and his group rested.」
Yuan Hua, leading Zhou Chen, Dongfang Wan'Er, and Lv Yunsheng, had already arrived at Demon Mountain.
Yuan Hua simply extended a finger. A point of light flared brilliantly, and his Aurora Sword Intent erupted in an instant. The sea of red Demonic Qi before them parted at once, revealing a path leading straight to the summit of Demon Mountain.
And at that moment.
ROAR!
A colossal roar echoed throughout the entire Red Land Demon Realm.
Two enormous, terrifying claws suddenly reached out from the summit of Demon Mountain and gripped the edge. A towering, monstrous red creature then hauled itself up from the volcano's crater.
Seeing this, Yuan Hua was stunned. "This is bad! It's a Celestial Demon! The Celestial Demon is breaking out!"
Immediately, Yuan Hua's figure transformed into a streak of light and shot straight up toward the summit.
But before he could reach the summit, the monstrous Celestial Demon suddenly dissolved into a dense cloud of Demonic Qi.
