Urban's Fury: The War Dragon God
Chapter 2094 - 2092: Military Forces Split in Two Directions
Chapter 2094: Chapter 2092: Military Forces Split in Two Directions
Li Feng watched Zhuge Xuanji, who hadn’t been deterred by his words and seemed more eager. He knew Zhuge Xuanji was the same type of person as him.
Once they’ve set their mind to something, no matter the difficulties, they will overcome all obstacles to achieve their goal.
"If you can persuade the garrison at First Line Pass, I can make the hundred thousand Demon Clan revolt on the battlefield."
"Agreed."
Zhuge Xuanji seized the opportunity and immediately joined Li Feng’s military.
Li Feng smirked, naturally won’t back down: "Let’s make it a deal."
"Alright, it’s settled then."
After speaking, Zhuge Xuanji swiftly turned around: "Luo Huan, Yang Feixue, Wang Chi, Ximen Baizhan."
These four are precisely the four Camp Masters of the White Tiger Guard.
"At your service."
The four stood up and approached Zhuge Xuanji, speaking solemnly.
"The Demon Clan is waging another war against our Ancestor Dragon; we are in a critical situation, so I’ve decided to split our forces. Ximen Baizhan, Wang Chi."
"Master strategist’s orders."
"The two of you take several people and ride the flying mounts here to West Pass. Tell the West Pass garrison commander everything that’s happening here. If West Pass falls, assess the situation. If it’s untenable, head for First Line Pass. Do not return directly to Ancestor Dragon City."
Zhuge Xuanji instructed face-to-face.
"Understood."
"Go then," Zhuge Xuanji waved a hand at them.
Wang Chi and Ximen Baizhan clenched their fists in salute and, without asking further, turned and called several followers to rush down from the Heavenly Mechanism Chessboard. The large bird mounts Li Feng had used didn’t fly away, conveniently available for the journey.
Watching as Wang Chi and Ximen Baizhan led their people north.
Zhuge Xuanji turned to Luo Huan and Yang Feixue: "You two lead the majority of the White Tiger Guard along the mountain range to First Line Pass, and make sure to arrive within a day and night."
"Yes, Master strategist."
Having ordered, Zhuge Xuanji then turned to Li Feng: "Young friend...!"
"Sir, just call me Li Feng."
"Alright, Li Feng, you, I, and the demon fox will head towards First Line Pass first, with the White Tiger Guard arriving shortly after. As for the arrangements upon arrival, let’s act according to the situation, shall we?"
Zhuge Xuanji did not dictate to Li Feng, since Li Feng didn’t belong to the White Tiger Guard, was their benefactor, and he needed Li Feng’s cooperation to achieve his goal.
Thus, Zhuge Xuanji treated Li Feng as an equal, instead of leaning on his seniority or status.
Speaking as if in consultation, Li Feng wouldn’t insist stubbornly: "Alright."
Li Feng turned and walked towards Bai Qian, the Holy Daughter of Qingqiu. Meanwhile, Luo Huan and Yang Feixue looked worryingly at Zhuge Xuanji: "Master strategist, are you moving alone?"
"Yes, even though I’ve learned some of the current situation from Li Feng, the Demon Clan is launching a major invasion, and as members of the White Tiger Guard, we can’t just return to Ancestor Dragon City ignoring it."
"Besides, Qingqiu imprisoned us for two hundred years. We’ve lost so many comrades and suffered so much resentment; how can we not vent our anger?"
Hearing this, Yang Feixue’s eyes sparkled: "Master strategist is right, this imprisonment for two hundred years, if this vendetta isn’t avenged, I can’t eat or sleep peacefully. If I don’t kill eight thousand or ten thousand of the Demon Clan, I won’t feel relieved."
"Master strategist, I’ll follow your lead; tell me what to do."
Luo Huan glanced at the impulsive Yang Feixue and felt similarly: "Alright, everything depends on Master strategist’s commands."
"This place is quite far from First Line Pass; I’m giving you a day and night to set camp nearby after reaching it. Here’s the new secret code; keep it well. I’ll come to find you later."
"Yes, Master strategist."
Zhuge Xuanji, after detailed instruction, handed the hundreds of White Tiger Guard to Yang Feixue and Luo Huan, then regrouped with Li Feng, and the three rode the other two large birds heading south, opposite to Ximen Baizhan’s direction.
The bird’s speed was swift and within a couple of hours they reached a hundred miles away from First Line Pass along the southern slope, a vast military camp now in sight.
After all, with a million-strong army, just their encampment stretched for tens of miles.
Within a hundred-mile radius, Li Feng made the bird descend, aware they could encounter demon clan scouts ahead, despite the demon clan currently being absorbed in the battle at First Line Pass.
Once landed, Li Feng killed the bird, then incinerated it with Purple Flame, turning it to ashes to dispose of the evidence, since the bird came from Qingqiu and if released it might fly back to their gathering point, revealing their position.
The remaining hundred-mile distance was covered on foot, given their cultivation, they crossed it in about fifteen minutes.
Fifteen minutes later.
The three arrived outside Li Feng’s encampment.
From the outside, Li Feng’s camp appeared chaotic, disorderly, with many attracted demons setting up tents around the camp perimeter, some even lacking tents, fashioning makeshift huts from mountainside logs.
"Hmm, is this your campsite? It’s quite... unconventional."
Bai Qian originally planned to mock Li Feng a bit, but under Li Feng’s gaze, the words changed as they came to her lips. After all, beneath the eaves, one must bow their head.
Bai Qian had seen Li Feng’s valor when he attacked the First Line Pass, but she had never been here before. Her identity needed to remain secret.
Now, seeing Li Feng’s mixed band of demons under his command, it truly appeared to be a motley crew, gathering all sorts of cannon fodder. It’s no wonder that the true elites of the Demon Clan wouldn’t choose to follow him.
The Demon Clan operates on a tribal basis. Any strong tribe has a high level of cohesion, making it impossible to leave the tribe to join other forces, as that would be considered betrayal.
Only those from small tribes or even wandering demons would be so casual about it.
She roughly guessed Li Feng’s intention to return. Clearly, he was unwilling to let go of his foundation here, perhaps wanting to take his people away or stir up trouble.
Yet Bai Qian didn’t think much of Li Feng’s actions.
If Li Feng merely returned to take his confidants away, it might be easier. But if he had other plans, Bai Qian didn’t believe he could create much chaos. After all, these demons, although a disorderly crowd, were still demons. Would they dare to attack the Demon Clan camp?
Give them the nerve.
Even if this group truly went mad and became fearless for Li Feng, what kind of storm could ten thousand scattered ranks raise?
A single elite force of ten thousand could easily wipe them out.
Zhuge Xuanji was also quietly observing Li Feng’s campsite. Clearly, to him, this camp’s performance was lacking. Perhaps not even reaching double digits. He even began to doubt that this disorderly group of demons, even in rebellion, could stir up much trouble.
Li Feng didn’t bother to explain, taking out three cloaks from the storage ring, handing two to Bai Qian and Zhuge Xuanji, and draping one over himself.
"Follow me into the camp first."
With that, Li Feng stood up and headed towards the camp without hiding his presence. Seeing this, Zhuge Xuanji and Bai Qian had no choice but to follow.
Zhuge Xuanji wanted to suggest waiting until nightfall, given such a grand entry into the camp, even if it were a disorderly crowd, surely they wouldn’t be blind to it.
But in reality, it was a slap in the face.
The three of them, cloaked, passed through without obstruction—no one stepped forward to stop and ask for their identities.
"Your camp truly lacks any defense."
Zhuge Xuanji smiled wryly and helplessly.
Li Feng wasn’t the least bit embarrassed: "Each day, countless demons flock to my command. I barely have enough people to make use of, let alone keep track."
"I had already announced that we were no longer receiving, but couldn’t prevent more from coming. And the Three Marshals were unwilling to accept these cannon fodder, so they simply sent them all to me."
"These demons camped on the outskirts as soon as they arrived, and the camp kept expanding, so I couldn’t be bothered to manage it."
Zhuge Xuanji, listening to Li Feng’s explanation, discerned a deeper meaning. Even though this place gathered a large number of cannon fodder, the fact that these fodder voluntarily gathered here to seek out Li Feng, even if Li Feng was merely a fraud, spoke volumes.
"Tsk, remarkable, truly remarkable."
Zhuge Xuanji’s eyes gleamed with insight. Along the way, he had learned a lot from Li Feng, knowing that Li Feng impersonated the Fire Phoenix Clan, while the Demon General, for some unknown reason, did not expose him.
Instead, they used this point against Li Feng with a strategy in the open: forcing him to attack the First Line Pass, or even this time’s ’luring the tiger away from the mountain.’"
This Demon General frankly played open schemes. It was clear that he didn’t take Li Feng seriously, though he underestimated one thing.
They planned to remove Li Feng by simply having him killed during an assignment, thus ending the trouble with minimal effort. As for this camp, a few marshal orders later, who would dare oppose?
In a swift move, the camp would be cleared without much trouble.
But they never imagined Li Feng would still return alive.
Li Feng returned, and his identity remained undiscovered, so to these low-level demons, Li Feng still represented the Fire Phoenix Clan, even acknowledged by the Three Marshals.
With this status, Li Feng could justifiably rally tens of thousands, or even more, of the demon clan.
Otherwise, if this fraud Li Feng tried to convince them with his human cultivator identity to rebel, it would be a pipe dream. Why would those demons work for a human?
That psychological barrier alone was insurmountable.
"Damn it."
"What’s wrong?"
"What else? The Lion Clan sent people again, arrogantly ordering us to dispatch forces to attack the First Line Pass tomorrow."
"What? Didn’t we just finish attacking the First Line Pass, and weren’t we told we wouldn’t be sent again? How can they go back on their word?
"Did Commander Feng Yang agree?"
"Commander Feng Yang was sent away by them earlier this morning, supposedly on some task. Clearly, they know he’s absent, which is why they’re being so outrageous." The demon gritted its teeth.
