Chapter 2021: Chapter 2020: Fight, Fight, Fight

More than two hundred Demon Clan members were engulfed in flames, but unlike those who were previously burned to ashes, the Demon warriors bathed in Phoenix Flame soon exhibited ancestral phenomena, a characteristic of pure bloodlines.

Accompanied by the ancestral reversion, the blood of the Demon warriors boiled uncontrollably, leading to a series of low growls as their bodies began to transform visibly.

Not only did their bodies become more robust, but even their Five Senses and demonic power increased significantly. Moreover, Li Feng added some personal touches, making the transformation of these Demon warriors even more complete.

Flame patterns emerged on the bodies of these Demon warriors, on their backs, chests, or arms, with the Vermilion Bird Emblem formed by the flames etched into their bodies like a brand mark.

Overlooking the refined Demon warriors, Li Feng declared from above: "Welcome to my ranks."

Having survived a near-death ordeal and undergone the baptism of Li Feng’s Phoenix Flame, the more than two hundred Demon warriors no longer harbored any complaints towards Li Feng. The demonic power surging within and the Ancestral Totem appearing in their minds enabled them to comprehend some long-lost racial talents.

Apart from a strong sense of hunger, they felt no discomfort; instead, their bodies felt reborn, more powerful than ever before.

"Greetings, my lord."

"Greetings, my lord."

A Demon member suddenly knelt on one knee, bowing to the exalted Li Feng, and the other Demon warriors quickly followed suit.

"You may leave; I have prepared food for you."

"Yes, my lord."

This scene was naturally observed by other Demon warriors, who instantly realized a harsh truth: although they had now joined under the Fire Phoenix Clan Young Master’s banner, they had not yet been accepted by him.

To gain his acceptance, it seemed there was only one path—to charge at First Line Pass as ordered and survive to return.

If they could return, they would receive his grace and gain greater strength.

It seemed a path of life-and-death.

Yet, none among the tens of thousands of Demons resisted because they were long aware of their fate. Even without joining him, they would still face First Line Pass, and although survival chances might be slightly higher under another’s command, they could always attempt to escape back.

But upon returning, there would be no benefits, only the chance to eke out a few more days before the next assault, until either the pass fell or they perished.

This way offered no advantage.

Under this command, though also a path of life-and-death, surviving would allow them to enjoy benefits that only the elites of the Eight Tribes could, receiving Bloodline refinement and enhancement.

Undoubtedly, this would be the turning point of their demon lives.

For whom they toiled was not the question—the key was whether there was value and reward in their toil.

The Demons, initially appearing united in heart but divided in mind, now settled down quietly, prompting an unnoticed sigh of relief from Chong Xuan and others observing.

The great battle continued.

Only this time, it shifted from forced charges to eager attempts.

But these Demon warriors were still from scattered small tribes, generally lacking racial strength; otherwise, they wouldn’t be used as cannon fodder.

In the sands of time, many Demons might perish on the path of assault, but there would always be lucky survivors.

Cruel as it might be, such was the reality of war.

The second array of Demons suffered even heavier casualties, with barely a little over a hundred returning. Yet, the third array charged with high morale.

Before First Line Pass.

Tang Lin, wielding his battle knife, decapitated a Demon, standing amid a mountain of corpses. His Ming Guang armor was soaked in Demonic blood, sticky and uncomfortable, the stench nauseating.

As he watched the remaining hundreds of Demons flee, his aura shifted slightly.

"Ming Guang."

Tang Lin raised his blood-drenched blade, and five hundred Ming Guang Camp cultivators shouted in unison.

"Ming Guang."

"Invincible."

As Tang Lin eyed the retreating Demons and the charging Demon formation, he shouted: "Gentlemen, can you still fight?"

"Fight, fight, fight."

Tang Lin’s side, too, was high in morale. Two waves of at least five thousand Demons crashed against Ming Guang Camp, yet he had felled them like rivers of blood, with only a meager few hundred managing to flee.

Such an accomplishment was worthy of pride.

From the tower on First Line Pass, some War Generals looked upon Tang Lin with approving nods. Even those who once underestimated these noble youths acknowledged his courage.

"This Tang Lin is impressive. It seems the Tang Family has a prodigy. If he survives this battle, the Tang Family may prosper for another two hundred years."

"Indeed, Tang Lin is a top student of the Sword Control Pavilion, nearing the Golden Core Late Stage at such a young age—a future full of potential."

It’s common to praise those like Tang Lin, Young Master of the second-tier Tang Family, who could naturally become Family Head if no surprises arise.

But there shouldn’t be too many surprises—despite not yet reaching the Golden Core Late Stage, his Guards were all Golden Core Late Stage experts.

Under such circumstances, Tang Lin faced little danger.

"Attack."

From above, they watched as, before First Line Pass, Tang Lin led five hundred Ming Guang Camp cultivators against the surviving Demons from the arrow and bolt rains.

Another fierce slaughter ensued, yet Ming Guang Camp’s obvious training bore fruit, and they weren’t irregular draftees.

Their cultivators practiced the Sword Control Technique and executed practical combat skills without fancy distractions, collaborating seamlessly like a single unit of five hundred.

In contrast, Li Feng’s Demon side was a ragtag mix from various tribes with typical Demonic ferocity. There might be some instinctual cooperation within the same species, but different tribes of Demons lacked synergy.

It was akin to punching tofu— the result was predictable.

The battle was lopsided, yet the Demons didn’t lose their momentum, instead unleashing their primal ferocity.

For the first time, Ming Guang Camp suffered casualties.

Amid the fiercest fighting, the fourth horn sounded, but separating the entwined Demon warriors and Ming Guang Camp proved difficult.

As the fourth Demon array charged, Ming Guang Camp faced its first crisis.

"General Ouyang, should we retreat Ming Guang Camp?"

"Retreat?"

Ouyang Tianshu shot a glance at the War General who spoke: "Is the blade sharp or not? If scared of breakage, why unsheathe at all?"
