Urban Supreme Evil Young Master
Chapter 1557 - 1556: Just Because of This!
"Just because of the Shadow Luo Organization!?"
At that, Hussein spoke up, his voice filled with shock, then he said, "Adelaide may be a madman, but what he did didn't cause any huge impact. For you to vent your anger on Crescent Group over this is a bit too…"
"Shut up!"
Before Hussein could finish, in an instant Lu Yu roared, and without giving him any chance, he swung the pistol in his hand toward Hussein's side and, without the slightest hesitation, pulled the trigger!
Bang bang bang bang bang!
Along with a series of low, terrifying gunshots, in a split second, the ground right beside Hussein was blasted open with several clearly visible bullet holes. These holes were only a few centimeters from Hussein; the warped bullets were embedded in the floor, shockingly close.
With that firing trajectory, if Lu Yu's hand had lifted just a fraction higher, Hussein would've been hit instantly. The consequences would've been unimaginable.
"Didn't cause any big impact!?"
Lu Yu's brows twisted, his gaze hard as he stared at Hussein and said, "Because of one insane idea from Adelaide, my parents died, my family was wiped out, and I was exiled on a barren island for five years!"
"Maybe to you people that didn't mean much, but to me, that was as big as it gets."
His voice was icy, every word dripping with killing intent. "Listen carefully: even if Crescent Group hadn't committed monstrous crimes, I don't care. I'm taking them down for one reason only—they funded the Shadow Luo Organization. Beyond that, there is no other reason."
"I'm no longer the coward I used to be."
Lu Yu's expression was dark and cold as he aimed the pistol at Hussein and said in a flat, frosty tone, "Since you already know the reason, I'll ask you now: are you going to help me or not?"
Between the lines, a clear edge of murderous intent had already seeped into Lu Yu's voice.
"How exactly do you want me to help?"
Hearing Lu Yu's words, Hussein spoke up in a panic. The black muzzle was right in front of him; he was almost certain that if he dared let even half a 'no' slip out of his mouth, the next second his skull would be blown apart.
"Very simple."
Lu Yu gave a slight smile, looked at Hussein and said, "All you need to do is dig up evidence for every dirty, hidden deal Crescent Group has ever done. Do that, and we'll consider this matter settled. How about it?"
"Your idea is good, but…"
Hussein couldn't help but shake his head and say, "If you'd come to me with this two days earlier, I might've been able to help. But now it's already impossible."
There was a trace of helplessness in his tone, as if Lu Yu really had missed some crucial window.
"What do you mean?"
Lu Yu's voice went cold as he asked, "What do you mean 'impossible'?"
"I've already deleted all the black ledgers of Umarov's illicit deals. He'd apparently been wary for a while, so a few days ago he ordered me to wipe every last black ledger."
"So—"
At this point Hussein looked at Lu Yu and said, "The most critical evidence is gone. Whatever we gather now would only be supporting material. Legally, it won't stand up in court."
"Black ledger?"
Lu Yu let out a cold chuckle and said, "You're telling me that the single most crucial piece of evidence… is that black ledger?"
His voice carried a note of amusement, almost mocking.
"That's right."
Hussein answered, "The black ledger recorded in detail every organization tied to Crescent Group, and every transaction they've ever made. With that, plus a bit of supporting evidence, Crescent Group would have no way to defend itself."
"It's just a shame that black ledger is gone."
As he spoke, Hussein's voice was heavy with helplessness and frustration.
"Who told you the black ledger is gone?"
Lu Yu's tone turned cold as he looked at Hussein and said, "If I told you that the black ledger still exists, and is perfectly preserved, what would you say?"
"What!?"
Hussein practically couldn't believe his ears. He jerked his head up, stared at Lu Yu and said, "That's impossible. I personally deleted all that data!"
His voice was filled with shock; he simply couldn't accept that the black ledger recording all of Crescent Group's crimes was actually in Lu Yu's hands.
"Actually, before you deleted anything, I already had people export the entire black ledger. So that ledger is intact, right here with me."
Lu Yu's eyes lowered slightly as he looked at Hussein and said, "Now that I want to move against Crescent Group, that shouldn't be all that difficult, should it?"
There was a playful edge in his tone.
"You're terrifying."
Hussein said, "With this, Crescent Group is doomed."
Even Hussein had to admit he was impressed with Lu Yu's foresight—quietly pulling out Crescent Group's black ledger ahead of time. That kind of move was downright frightening.
"Just a minor trick, hardly worth mentioning."
Lu Yu replied coolly. There was a faint, shocking sharpness in his eyes, but his expression remained utterly calm.
Hearing this, Hussein's body stiffened. He looked at Lu Yu and asked, "Are you going to hand that black ledger over to the judicial authorities and let them deal with Crescent Group?"
"Swift is already fully aligned with the Shadow Luo Organization. If I hand this straight to the judicial authorities, how is that any different from putting Shadow Luo through a compliance review?"
Lu Yu's tone carried a hint of dark humor. His eyes spun slightly, clearly weighing his options.
"The right tool has to be used at the right moment, or it'll never reach its full potential."
He spoke slowly, fixing his gaze on Hussein and saying in a cold voice, "All you need to do is stash away the supporting evidence and cooperate with us. As for the rest, we'll handle it ourselves."
Lu Yu's face was steeped in depth and a certain grim amusement as he spoke.
