Urban Invincible Overlord
Chapter 1761 - 1758: Mother Is in Seclusion
Chapter 1761: Chapter 1758: Mother Is in Seclusion
Although the Shang Qing Sect had gone through that internal turmoil, with many areas of the sect damaged and needing repair, the overall state was still intact. And after two years, Yang Fei flew from Tian Nan Peak towards the medicine garden, and along the way, he saw no signs of ruin.
He quickly arrived above the medicine garden.
The disciples of the medicine garden recognized him from afar and nodded to acknowledge his presence as a greeting.
Helian Zhan and Ouyang He were unexpectedly not present.
Monarch Luo Yu came out of a house with a teenage boy. Seeing this, Yang Fei quickly flew over to pay his respects: "Disciple Yang Fei, greets Uncle Master."
Monarch Luo Yu glanced at Yang Fei and nodded, "Hmm, you’re a person of great fortune, not seen for a few years, and you’re nearly at Nascent Soul Formation, truly impressive."
Yang Fei hastily said, "Uncle Master overpraises me, I still need to work hard."
Monarch Luo Yu nodded and said to the teenage boy beside him, "Cheng’er, this is your father."
The boy, who was handsome and over 1.6 meters tall, appeared to be in his early teens but still bore the innocence of a child on his face, unlike a teenager.
Yang Fei felt a surge of emotions and looked at the child: "Cheng’er, you... you’ve grown so tall. When I left, you were just one year old. Do you remember me?"
Yang Cheng shook his head.
He was just over seven years old now, not even eight. When Yang Fei left, he was only a year old. Although he possessed a top-grade Heavenly Spirit Root and had started cultivation, he had long forgotten any memories from before he was one year old.
But Yang Cheng knew that this man was his father because his mother, grandfather, and two Masters had described his father’s appearance and many stories to him. Now that Master Luoyu had confirmed their relationship, he opened his mouth and called out, "Father."
For many years, Yang Fei had always missed Helian Rong and Yang Cheng, lingering on his thoughts of them. But in his memories, Yang Cheng was always that little one-year-old who could barely accompany him running through the valley.
He naturally fantasized about his son slowly growing into a boy with a tiger-head and tiger-brain look, but he could never fully picture his son’s exact appearance in his mind.
Hearing Yang Cheng call him "father" now, he felt as if the boy before him overlapped with the child he had imagined.
A complex, indescribable emotion surged within him as he nodded, "Ah. Father... is sorry to you and your mother; after so many years apart, I didn’t expect you to grow so tall."
A child not yet eight, over 1.6 meters...
Growing up in the countryside, Yang Fei felt a bit out of place.
He remembered that during his own growth spurt, he was barely over 1.6 meters, only growing to 1.78 meters later.
And yet, his son was already over 1.6 meters at not even eight.
It felt a bit strange.
But quickly, he sensed the Spiritual Power fluctuations within the child and felt at ease.
Children in the cultivation world must be different.
Breathing in dense Spiritual Energy from a young age, eating Spirit Rice, drinking from a Spiritual Spring, and starting cultivation after age three, how could their bodies not be extraordinary?
"Mother said father had important matters to attend to, said you were always thinking of us, and said you’d definitely return after completing your tasks. She truly wasn’t lying," Yang Cheng said.
His voice was initially a bit tense, but as he began to speak more, his demeanor relaxed, his words flowed, and he looked at Yang Fei with eyes of true joy at his father’s return.
Yang Fei felt a slight sting in his nose at his child’s words.
He felt regretful towards the mother and son, especially towards Yang Cheng, as he had missed the opportunity to be present for the child during their years of separation.
He hadn’t expected the child to be so understanding and not blame him in the slightest.
Helian Rong had taught him well.
She didn’t harbor resentment when he left to search for Qin Yanyang and Tong Yunshu, which could have fostered bitterness.
Yang Fei looked at his son and gestured for him to come over.
Yang Cheng promptly took big strides towards him.
Yang Fei reached out to pat his head, momentarily not knowing what to say, then asked, "Where’s your mother?"
Yang Cheng replied, "Mother is in seclusion."
Yang Fei was momentarily stunned and then looked towards Monarch Luo Yu.
Monarch Luo Yu nodded and said, "Miss Rong has been in seclusion for over a month; she should almost be done by now."
Yang Fei’s heart skipped a beat with expectation, "Is she attempting Core Formation?"
Monarch Luo Yu smiled slightly, "Miss Rong has always had excellent talent and comprehension. Since you left, she has been free of distractions, dedicating herself solely to cultivation, and her cultivation has progressed rapidly, reaching the conditions for Core Formation long ago. If not for the rebellion led by Wang Yuanxiao and Ran Weixian, she would have attempted Core Formation earlier."
Yang Fei was overjoyed.
Among Earth Cultivators, he, Qin Yanyang, and Tong Yunshu were the first to successfully form their cores.
Subsequently, Helian Zhan and Wang Chunyang both broke through during crisis to enter the Core Formation Stage.
After that, Master Huang Chengcheng successfully formed his core on Earth.
Now, there would be another to add to the list, Helian Rong.
It was truly remarkable that in just a few decades since the Spiritual Energy Revival, so many Core Formation Stage cultivators had emerged on Earth.
Furthermore, Wang Lei and Sun Xingyu, whom he had not seen in two years, must have successfully formed their cores by now as well.
Even if they hadn’t yet, forming their cores would be no challenge for them in the future, and they likely already possessed combat power similar to that of early-stage Core Formation.
Along with Zhu Tianshou, Qin Huai’an, Zhuge Cang, Ning Shucheng, Monica, Ji Qingshan, Xu Xingzhou, Hu Lizhong, Xiang Yunfei, Ouyang He, Zhao Wannian, Qin Sizhong, Gong Haichao, Wang Chengcuo, Luo Yong, Xu Yunshan, Xu Liangyou, and Xu Xiao, Wang Changchun, Chiba Susumu—the number of cultivators who had reached or could easily reach the Foundation Establishment level was already considerable.
In addition to these, there were also the formidable members of the Blood Clan.
Though Chris, Wales, and other Blood Clan powerful figures had left Earth for the Southern Domain, making it hard for Yang Fei to maintain close ties with them, he believed that the Blood Clan would struggle to survive in the Southern Domain Cultivation World, where they were regarded with intense caution as entities more frightful than Evil Cultivators and Demonic Cultivators. If the situation persisted, they would eventually return to seek him out.
It had only been a few decades.
The powers in the Southern Domain had signed a century-long pact, equating to Earth Cultivators having a safe cultivation window of three hundred years on Earth.
With three hundred years, many of Earth’s elite cultivators should reach the Nascent Soul Stage.
If one or two could achieve Divinity Transformation, by then, Earth would truly possess top-tier combat strength, alleviating all concerns for the future.
"Uncle Master, there shouldn’t be much issue with Rong’er’s core formation, right?" Yang Fei reined in his thoughts and asked Monarch Luo Yu.
Monarch Luo Yu smiled indifferently, "For Miss Rong, forming her core is just a matter of course. Rest assured, this old man has made ample preparations for her; she will be fine."
Yang Fei nodded silently.
Though core formation posed fewer risks to life compared to foundation establishment, a failure could still impact a cultivator’s Dao Heart. Hearing reassurances from Monarch Luo Yu, his mind was finally at ease.
"Uncle Master, where are my father-in-law and Daoist Ouyang? Are they also in seclusion?" Yang Fei asked Monarch Luo Yu.
"The two of them have gone out on sect missions."
Yang Fei frowned, "I thought cultivators from Earth weren’t required to perform sect missions?"
"They took the initiative to take on tasks at the Opportunity Hall, saying they wanted to see the outside world and gain some experience."
The Opportunity Hall is the task center of the Shang Qing Sect, where all sect missions, big or small, are accepted.
