Chapter 432: It’s All Plots and Schemes

After spending a few moments in the bathroom, Li Fuzhen realized she had made a mistake.

‘How could I have run into the bathroom?’

‘Didn’t I just walk myself into a trap?’

Too embarrassed to go back out, she could only stare blankly into the mirror.

She could feel her heart racing.

What Luo Yuqing had just said made her want to crawl into a hole, but at the same time, she felt a small sense of yearning.

But she was too proud to admit it.

As she stewed in her conflicting emotions, she heard strange sounds coming from outside.

A thought occurred to her. She pressed her ear to the door and listened quietly for a moment before cursing inwardly.

‘Just as I thought. That despicable pair has been at it for a while.’

Ten-odd minutes later, she couldn’t take it anymore. She threw the door open and walked out.

She strode over to the two people she wanted to stab, but before she could utter a word of reprimand, Wang Chenning’s foot shot out and tripped her.

What happened next was completely out of her control.

Half an hour later, Li Fuzhen and Luo Yuqing were bickering, each blaming the other for being all looks and no substance, which had earned them Wang Chenning’s ridicule.

Luo Yuqing was holding her phone, showing Li Fuzhen something she had just recorded.

“You should be ashamed of your past. At your age, you still haven’t learned a thing. Aren’t you a little dense?”

The color drained from Li Fuzhen’s face. “Give me the phone!”

“Nope!” Luo Yuqing tossed her phone aside and lay down next to Li Fuzhen. Then she pleaded with Wang Chenning, “Could you give us some acupuncture? We went to so many places today, and then we danced like crazy tonight. I’m exhausted!”

“Alright. Different acupuncture techniques have different effects, but I guarantee you’ll be satisfied!” Wang Chenning readily agreed.

“You’re disgusting!” Luo Yuqing cursed at Wang Chenning, but her hands were busy “disciplining” Li Fuzhen. “I need to teach you a proper lesson someday. You’re so old and you were about to become the head of the Shanxing Group, yet you’re such a disappointment!”

“None of your business!” Li Fuzhen, fuming with humiliation, pinched Luo Yuqing a few times. “Just wait until I get my hands on the Shanxing Group! We’ll see if you’re still laughing at me then!”

However, when Wang Chenning began their acupuncture, Luo Yuqing didn’t dare to fool around anymore and became perfectly still.

After receiving Wang Chenning’s acupuncture, she was instantly full of life and energy. She then urged him to give Li Fuzhen a treatment as well.

Li Fuzhen was still feeling too proud to ask, but when Wang Chenning started her acupuncture, she lay there obediently without fidgeting.

The effects of the acupuncture today were far better than the last few times.

She knew that Wang Chenning had used some techniques he hadn’t used before, all to placate her.

“I rarely use this needle technique because it’s so draining. You could say it’s like I’m transferring my stamina to you. I end up exhausted, but you two become full of energy.” After finishing the treatment, Wang Chenning threw his arms out and flopped onto the bed. “I’m wiped out!”

“Good, you’re tired!” Luo Yuqing was suddenly delighted. “I’ll take advantage of you while you’re weak! That’ll teach you to be so smug in front of us all the time!”

She didn’t know that Wang Chenning was just playing possum. His goal was to lure her in and teach her that overconfidence comes at a price.

Luo Yuqing only realized Wang Chenning was tricking her after she made her move, but by then she had already fallen for it and there was nothing she could do…

Li Fuzhen, being quite loyal, immediately jumped in to help Luo Yuqing. But two against one wasn’t always a winning combination, and in the end, they both ended up utterly defeated.

“From now on, you’d better behave,” Wang Chenning said with a grin, looking at the two women who had lost all their fight. “If either of you disobeys, I’ll teach you a harsh lesson. In our little group, you two are the eldest and the most important members. There are many things that I need you to handle. I can give you everything but an official title, and I can give you endless happiness. So, don’t try any tricks on me. You must help me with all your heart!”

Luo Yuqing knew Wang Chenning was just warning Li Fuzhen, and that she had to play along. She replied pitifully, “Our team is all yours now, so of course we’ll listen to you. You’re so powerful; we would never, and we’d never dare, to betray you. We believe you’re destined for success, and if we all work together as one, the chances of that success will be even greater. So, we’re an iron triangle!”

At this point, it was difficult for Li Fuzhen to think with her usual clarity.

She suspected this might be a trap, but she no longer had the strength to struggle free.

Besides, the day’s events were the most unforgettable of her life.

From Wang Chenning’s vision of the future on the painted barge—a grand ambition reminiscent of great powers carving up the world—to her current submission to his domineering nature, everything gave her an intense urge. An urge to stay by his side forever, to make all their wishes come true, and to enjoy every happiness.

This was something no one else could give her.

“We are an iron triangle!” she finally declared, tightly gripping Wang Chenning’s and Luo Yuqing’s hands. But then she added a reminder, “We can’t tell a single soul about what happened today. This is a secret between the three of us. And in our daily lives, we have to hide it. No one can ever know!”

“Most of what happened today can’t ever get out. Otherwise, countless people would want us dead!” Wang Chenning said with a chuckle. “It’s past midnight. A new day has begun. Isn’t it wonderful?”

Luo Yuqing and Li Fuzhen froze for a second before understanding his meaning, then cried out in unison.

But Wang Chenning gave them no chance to resist!
