"Hey, ladies, why don’t you come have some fun with us?" The leader of the group, a tall and not-bad-looking young man, stared at Li Yanxian and Yang Xiaofei for a moment before hitting on them. "If you keep us happy, I can give you lots and lots of money!"

The guys behind him immediately started jeering, bragging that they were expert "horsemen." They claimed that if the pretty ladies came with them, they’d have a heavenly time.

These guys had clearly had too much to drink. A foul stench of alcohol wafted from them as they spoke.

Li Yanxian and Yang Xiaofei immediately took two steps back, retreating to Wang Chenning’s side.

Another young man walked over to Zhao Xiao’an, a lewd grin on his face. "Well, hello there, pretty girl. Why don’t you come grab a late-night snack with us?"

As he spoke, he reached out to touch Zhao Xiao’an’s face.

But before his hand could get anywhere near her, his entire body went flying.

Wang Chenning had been walking and chatting with Li Fuzhen, but when he saw the thugs harassing his female companions, he was instantly furious.

When one of them tried to get handsy with Zhao Xiao’an, he didn’t even bother with a warning. He just acted.

Yang Xiaofei’s bodyguards, who had been blended into the crowd, reacted just as quickly. Seeing the thugs trying to harass their employer, they immediately rushed forward.

"Do you think they’ll come back for revenge?" Zhao Xiao’an asked Wang Chenning in a low voice after they sat down. "I have a feeling they targeted us on purpose!"

Wang Chenning looked surprised. "You mean they recognized us? Or someone else recognized us and sent them to harass us?"

Zhao Xiao’an smiled. "Let’s hope my conspiracy theory is wrong!"

"Even if they do, we’re not afraid," Wang Chenning said with a grin. "This is just a good opportunity to see whether Gusu or Qiantang is the better place to invest!"

Yang Xiaofei, sitting to one side, said nothing, simply staring quietly at her phone.

Li Fuzhen and Li Yanxian didn’t know the whole story, but they were still quite surprised by Wang Chenning’s explosive temper.

"You really like fighting, don’t you?" Li Yanxian asked Wang Chenning curiously. "I’ve seen you get into fights so many times already!"

Wang Chenning asked smugly, "Don’t I look cool when I fight?"

His question earned him a simultaneous eye-roll from all the women.

Just as their late-night meal was served, the same group of thugs they had beaten up earlier stormed into the eatery.

In addition to the men who had just been thrashed by Wang Chenning and Yang Xiaofei’s bodyguards, they had brought a few burly-looking guys with them.

Seeing this, the other diners knew what was good for them and cleared out of the way.

One of the burly men in the lead stomped over to Wang Chenning’s table and snarled, "You must have a death wish, running wild on our turf like this."

"What decade are we in? Still pulling this routine from old Hong Kong cop dramas?" Wang Chenning said, looking at them with contempt. "Aren’t you afraid you’ll end up in prison?"

"Fuck!" the burly man roared. "Who the hell do you think you are, you pretty boy? Acting so damn arrogant? Believe it or not, I’ll teach you a lesson in a heartbeat!"

SLAP! Wang Chenning’s hand flew up and struck the man across the face.

It was a heavy slap. The burly man’s face immediately started to swell.

"You... you actually hit me?" He instinctively clutched his face, staring at Wang Chenning in disbelief. "You actually dared to hit me? I’ll..."

Before he could get the threat out, Wang Chenning slapped his other cheek.

"Get lost. Don’t interrupt our meal," Wang Chenning said, his eyes ice-cold as he glared at the thugs. "Or I’ll make you regret the day you were born."

"Motherfucker!" The burly man was completely enraged. But instead of charging forward to fight Wang Chenning himself, he took two steps back and yelled to his cronies, "Get him! Cripple this pretty boy, and we’ll take the women!"

Wang Chenning didn’t even get up. He just picked up a small plate from the table and casually tossed it.

The young thug at the front of the charge was hit squarely in the knee. With an instinctive cry of pain, he dropped to the ground with a THUD.

Several of the thugs behind him, caught off guard, tripped over their fallen comrade.

While the group was in disarray, Wang Chenning suddenly exploded into action. With a few sharp kicks, he took them all down before they even knew what was happening.

He gave them no chance to recover. As they lay on the ground, he struck again. After a vicious kick to each of them, none of the thugs could get back up.
