Chapter 384: A Woman’s Mouth, a Lying Ghost

Li Yanxian was, of course, no ordinary girl. But she was an inexperienced young woman, and in many ways, she and Wang Chenning were on completely different levels.

And Wang Chenning didn't operate as directly as Li Fuzhen and Li Yanxian had anticipated.

Although Li Yanxian held a relatively high place in his heart, it was only about the same as Zhao Xiao'an and Yang Xiaofei.

He could describe his feelings for Zhao Xiao'an and Yang Xiaofei as "liking," but it was still a bit premature to use that word for Li Yanxian.

Under this influence, he was more detached about romance than most people.

"Wang Chenning, why did you do that?" Lying limp in his arms, Li Yanxian recovered from her daze and asked with what little reason she had left, "Is there something wrong with you physically, or are you just afraid to make a move on me?"

"I'm waiting for *you* to make a move on me!" Wang Chenning said with a grin, stroking her. "Don't you have any desire to conquer me?"

Hearing this, Li Yanxian's eyes flew open. "How could you think that?"

"Why does the man always have to be the one to initiate? Don't we live in a society that values equality between men and women?" Wang Chenning said with a playful smirk. "The final step... I'd rather let the woman take it!"

Li Yanxian suddenly got angry and pinched him. "I know what you're thinking. You just don't want to take responsibility, right? You don't make a move, you want the woman to do it, so you won't feel guilty. You're a classic scumbag! No initiating, no rejecting, no responsibility. Hmph!"

"I've never denied being a scumbag!" Wang Chenning said, unfazed and still grinning. "But you've got it wrong. I just don't want women to get me too easily. I won't lie, once you get a taste of me, it's like being poisoned. You'll never want to leave me..."

Li Yanxian cut off his boast with another hard pinch.

Wang Chenning immediately retaliated, pinching her back even harder several times until she was completely powerless to resist. Then he chuckled slyly. "Didn't you just get a taste of bliss? You felt that happy without any... substantial contact. Imagine if..."

Before he could finish, Li Yanxian sealed his lips with hers.

After being thoroughly kissed by Li Yanxian, Wang Chenning lay on the bed with his arms spread wide, saying weakly, "I'll just lie here for five more minutes, then I'm going back to my room to sleep!"

"Get lost!" Li Yanxian kicked him, then got out of bed and darted into the bathroom.

After closing the door, she opened it again and poked her head out. "Starting today, I don't want to see you ever again!"

"Alright!" Wang Chenning got up from the bed and waved at her with a smile. "Then you can just plan your own itinerary. We'll go have fun by ourselves!"

"As if anyone would miss you!" Li Yanxian slammed the door with a loud SLAM. "I'm definitely not following you tomorrow."

Wang Chenning didn't mind. He got up, dusted himself off, and left.

After returning to his room, he called Li Fuzhen and told her he was back, "mission accomplished," and that she should go back to her own room to sleep.

Li Fuzhen had already fallen asleep in Zhao Xiao'an's room. When she received Wang Chenning's call, her heart skipped a beat, and she got up immediately.

Without waking Zhao Xiao'an, she quietly returned to her room.

When Li Fuzhen returned to her luxury suite, Li Yanxian was still in the bathroom, washing up.

'He really conquered her!' Li Fuzhen naturally assumed that Wang Chenning and Li Yanxian had just done what she expected them to do, and that after he left, Li Yanxian had gone to the bathroom to shower.

She didn't disturb Li Yanxian. She tiptoed back to her own room, washed up quickly, and went to bed.

The next morning at 7:30, the four of them got up at almost the same time and met in the dining hall after washing up.

Zhao Xiao'an and Li Yanxian both looked normal, but Li Fuzhen seemed a little strange.

She glanced at Wang Chenning, then at Li Yanxian. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was odd about the two of them.

But she couldn't very well ask about it.

During breakfast, Wang Chenning told Li Fuzhen and Zhao Xiao'an to wait in the lobby later. They would go to Leifeng Pagoda first, then to Jingci Temple.

Since they would be walking across the Su Causeway, he told the two women to wear something comfortable.

"Got it!" Li Yanxian shot Wang Chenning a glare, answering before Li Fuzhen and Zhao Xiao'an could.

"Didn't you say you didn't want to go?" Wang Chenning asked, looking at her in surprise.

Li Fuzhen also had a strange expression.

"Did I say that?" Li Yanxian glared at Wang Chenning irritably. "The four of us are a temporary team, and I have great team spirit. I want to see the place where Fahai suppressed the White Maiden, I want to offer incense at Jingci Temple, and I especially want to see the beauty of 'Spring Dawn at Su Causeway'!"

Wang Chenning rolled his eyes.

'Women,' he thought, 'are truly the most untrustworthy species. Last night, she swore she wouldn't hang out with us, but after one night's sleep, it's like she has amnesia, completely 'forgetting' all the harsh words she said.'

After breakfast, as they were all heading back to their rooms to get ready, Li Fuzhen sent a text message.

"I think you and Li Yanxian are both acting weird. Did something happen last night or not?"

"No!" Wang Chenning replied truthfully. "I'm waiting for her to take the initiative and conquer me!"

Li Fuzhen: "Then what did you two do last night?"

Wang Chenning: "Why are you so gossipy, Sister Li?"

"I'm just anxious for you!" Li Fuzhen added several eye-rolling emojis to her message.

Wang Chenning replied: "Everything but the final step!"

After sending a few surprised emojis, Li Fuzhen followed up with: "So you're the one playing hard to get!"

Then she added with a sigh: "I'm honestly so impressed by you. You can make any woman willingly submit to you!"

"Any woman, including yourself?"

"Of course that includes me!" Li Fuzhen was very direct. "I don't think I can ever break free from the happiness you've given me. For the rest of my life, I don't want to think about anything else. I'll just enjoy however much time and happiness I can get. I hope you won't despise me when I'm old and my looks have faded, otherwise, I'll truly lose my reason for living!"

"Then you'd better cherish me and love me!"

"Absolutely!" Li Fuzhen promised, like a naive young girl. "I'm willing to do anything for you!"
