Chapter 2260: Chapter 2249: The King Has Returned!

The two little girls that even the Bright Church appeared in person to greet were naturally not ordinary, as the old man in front of them knew.

However, these two little girls were truly ignorant of the situation. They should have realized that the Bright Church had personally explained things to them.

But the two girls wouldn’t listen at all, instead insisting that the so-called beastly uncle was hidden within the Bright Church, which was clearly a great disrespect to the Church, and an insult to the Bright Pope.

“Hmph, I knew you’d say that. Fine, since you refuse to hand over the beastly uncle, then let’s fight. We’ll fight to the death!”

As she spoke, Huahua’s expression changed, and she wanted to command the big and little bears to charge through.

However, just as the big and little bears were about to act, Bright Pope Shika’s lips curled into a slight smile, and with a wave of his arm, a swoosh of golden light enveloped the big and little bears, confining them in place. They couldn’t move at all, not even their noses could wiggle, it was incredibly difficult.

“Big Bear, Little Bear, quickly knock them all down; Tangtang and I want to see the beastly uncle, these people are bad guys.”

But no matter how much Huahua and Tangtang tried to command the big and little bears, the bears acted as if they hadn’t heard, remaining motionless and frozen on the spot.

“Big Bear, Little Bear, didn’t you hear what I said?”

Huahua was furious.

But the big and little bears still showed no reaction, standing petrified as if turned to stone.

The surrounding people realized it must have been due to an action by the Bright Pope, secretly marveling at his Divine Power. To think that the two ferocious beasts, pure-blooded Titans, known for their incredible strength and formidable size, unmatched in skill, required strong forces even among Sub-Saint Fifth Layer Heaven tier to challenge them.

Shika didn’t say a word. With another light wave of his hand, a brilliant golden light shone, and the big and little bears that had been restrained suddenly collapsed down with a thunderous noise, falling to the ground.

Seeing this scene, the two girls finally understood why the big and little bears hadn’t followed their commands. They had been immobilized.

“You…”

“Since you’ve come all this way, rest a while.” Before Huahua’s angry voice could come out, Shika smiled faintly and waved his hand, making the two girls’ eyes roll back and their bodies collapse softly to the ground.

Then, with another wave, Shika caused the bodies of the two Titan beasts and the two girls to float, following him deep into the Bright Church…

Meanwhile, with Mu Ruoyun’s help, Lin Zifeng had little trouble navigating from the Demon Beast Forest to the Dark Prison within the Mortal World.

Returning to the Dark Prison, it really felt wonderful, just as if he had personally reincarnated.

Breathing in the once-familiar air, this feeling was much more gratifying compared to being in the Third Parallel Universe.

“Finally, I’m back.” Standing in the spot where he had disappeared from the Dark Prison, his heart was filled with excitement and sentiment, yet he didn’t know how long it had been since he vanished.

He was afraid that with his prolonged absence, everything would have changed by the time he returned.

“What’s wrong? You don’t look too happy,” the artifact spirit Mu Ruoyun’s light laughter echoed.

Truth be told, Lin Zifeng wasn’t particularly joyful. He didn’t know how long he had been missing, nor whether the Holy Hall had undergone dramatic changes. He feared that his disappearance might have dealt a significant blow to the Holy Hall, and even more so to Nangong Bing, stirring in him a series of unwelcome thoughts.

“You noticed,” Lin Zifeng grinned slightly, dismissing Ruoyun’s comment. Lifting his head, he took a deep breath, glanced around, and said solemnly, “Alright, since I’m back, it’s time to return.”

“By the way, how should we address the matter with Dongfang Ziyue?” Ruoyun reminded him.

When teleporting from the Beiyao Ancient Clan, for unknown reasons, Dongfang Ziyue had disappeared, and at the moment, Lin Zifeng didn’t have the energy to seek her out. He had to remember that he planned to revisit the Third Parallel Universe. However, last time he abruptly disappeared from the Dark Prison without resolving everything in the Holy Hall or notifying anyone.

Now, his top priority was to return to the Holy Hall to assure everyone of his safety before deciding to revisit the Third Parallel Universe when the time was right.

“I don’t know for now; hopefully, she can fend for herself.” Lin Zifeng sighed, shaking his head. He wasn’t that close to Dongfang Ziyue; honestly, their relationship amounted to mutual exploitation.

Even though he was ninety percent certain that the Beiyao Ancient Clan’s 19th generation clan daughter was his mother, he couldn’t return for now.

Additionally, he had fulfilled his promise to Dongfang Ziyue by destroying the living taboo tower, thereby changing her fate.

Mu Ruoyun remained silent, knowing Lin Zifeng and Dongfang Ziyue’s relationship was merely based on benefits. That night at Dongfang’s Marquis Mansion, when Dongfang Ziyue attempted to assassinate him, probably left Lin Zifeng with some unresolved feelings; if she were in his place, she’d be wary of this woman as well. Who knows when she might whimsically decide to eliminate someone who no longer serves her?

Soon, without further words, little Luobo resting on Lin Zifeng’s shoulder, they traveled without impediments. It seemed that after the battle, the Dark Prison had quieted down significantly, even the likes of a Human King-level figure in white had vanished.

Lin Zifeng wondered if they’d been killed, but dismissed the thought — Human Kings were powerful, and aside from them, there were other strong figures among the Human Race. Though they lack Spiritual Sense, eliminating them wouldn’t be easy.

Three days later… Lin Zifeng and his group finally exited the Dark Prison. Once, it was a mysterious place of allure to Lin Zifeng; now, he visited freely as he pleased. Time indeed played tricks on feelings.

Yet he was unaware that many powerful beings in the Dark Prison, upon sensing his aura, had hidden away. A powerful Saint, even without treading the Transformation Path, exuded an aura fearsome enough to terrify those lurking in the shadows.
