Chapter 2254: Luobo Appears
Chapter 2254: Chapter 2243: Luobo Appears
Suddenly, a towering gray light beside him made Lin Zifeng involuntarily turn his head, his sword-like eyebrows tightly furrowed. He clearly felt that the powerful presence in the distance had already locked onto his aura.
“That gray light just now was emitted by a Spiritual Beast as it shifted from its human form to its true form. While that guy hasn’t completely transformed, hurry and run into the forest.”
Without Mu Ruoyun’s reminder, Lin Zifeng was already at full speed. Watching the forest draw closer, his figure accelerated even more.
Facing danger, Mu Ruoyun also forgot to tell Lin Zifeng that there was another powerful presence in the forest, one so powerful that even she couldn’t fathom it, waiting for Lin Zifeng…
The reason Mu Ruoyun dared to let Lin Zifeng enter the forest was because she faintly felt that although the aura was powerful, it bore no hostility; moreover, it felt…familiar!
If a Spiritual Beast reaches the ultimate stage of power and gains human intelligence, it can communicate with humans. When it encounters Lin Zifeng, he can have a good conversation with it. Not all Spiritual Beasts in the Demon Beast Forest are bloodthirsty killers.
“Whoosh…”
The forest was right within reach, and Lin Zifeng ran with all his might, but unexpectedly, a gust of wind swept past his ear. In an instant, the presence that filled him with dread had flashed right behind him!
“Such speed!”
Before he could even exclaim, Lin Zifeng felt as if a mountain had struck his back, propelling him uncontrollably backward.
“Heh heh…human, why do you trespass into the Demon Beast Forest?”
The voice from behind was laced with mockery amidst its fury. Though it posed a question, to Lin Zifeng it felt more like a taunt at his arrogance.
“Swish…”
A flash of gray light appeared behind him, and the Spiritual Beast, whose appearance Lin Zifeng hadn’t seen clearly, reverted to its human form. The footsteps grew closer, and while Lin Zifeng was tense, he dared not move a muscle.
The slap on the back just now made his recently healed bones feel as if they shattered again, and this was even when that guy was holding back. If he moved recklessly and provoked him, the next blow might very well claim his life!
“Cough cough…”
Coughing up several mouthfuls of blood, Lin Zifeng’s face was pressed against the ground. The creature behind him couldn’t see, but Lin Zifeng’s previously pained expression had turned somber, and his fists pounded into the ground, clenched tight, veins bulging.
If that guy dares to kill me, I’ll just… escape if I can’t fight.
He had a bit of ambition, but reflecting on the terror of that last slap, Lin Zifeng’s thoughts immediately changed tone.
“Master Zifeng, be careful, there’s another strong aura coming from the front!”
Feeling the mysterious and powerful presence in the forest approaching, Mu Ruoyun grew anxious. Sandwiched by powerful entities front and back, escape seemed impossible.
From the front…
Upon hearing that another Spiritual Beast was approaching, Lin Zifeng was about to lift his head to look when he was stopped by a tiny foot pressing on his head.
If you want to kill me, just do it! Why step on my head!
Though furious, Lin Zifeng realized the foot pressing on his head seemed to be made of three toes, and was surprisingly small. It felt… like Little Luobo.
“Oh Xiba… Oh Xiba!”
The sound was so familiar; Lin Zifeng couldn’t help but recognize it. He immediately flipped up and grabbed the tiny Luobo perched on his head.
Its soft body, big eyes, and mischievous expression—wasn’t this the Little Luobo that had gotten separated from him earlier?
“Little Luobo, it really is you! I thought you’d been eaten by a Spiritual Beast!”
Overjoyed, Lin Zifeng chose words without much care, squeezing Little Luobo’s soft body. It squirmed and giggled as if ticklish.
As the two engaged in playful antics, the Spiritual Beast exuding a fierce killing aura could no longer tolerate these two disregarding his presence!
“Hey, little thing, get lost, or I’ll eat you too!”
Despite the Spiritual Beast’s threats, Little Luobo continued laughing, while Lin Zifeng’s expression darkened. He stood and began to observe the speaking Spiritual Beast.
The moment Lin Zifeng’s gaze landed on the beast’s face, his expression twisted. If not for the fact that this guy could easily wipe him out with a wave, Lin Zifeng would have burst into laughter.
Though this Spiritual Beast’s humanized form had a commendable figure, comparable to models in the Mortal World, its features, albeit handsome, carried a hint of effeminacy—crudely put, a bit…feminine.
The most amusing to Lin Zifeng was the creature’s hair—black nor blonde but instead a mix of bluish-gray—long and flowing like a waterfall, akin to Mu Ruoyun’s when they last met.
This cascade of hair draped over the feminine face reminded Lin Zifeng of the sanctified nouveau riche of the Mortal World.
Internally mocking the Demon Beast Forest’s sense of aesthetics, Lin Zifeng regained composure, calmly saying, “Hmm, dear…brother, I’m only passing by. There’s no need to take a life, is there?”
Unexpectedly, Lin Zifeng’s words caused the creature’s face to change unpredictably, especially when he uttered ‘dear brother,’ which infuriated it.
“Scram! Did I say you could talk!?”
What should have been a commanding shout lost its effect due to the creature’s soft tone. Seeing no hint of fear in Lin Zifeng’s amused restraint, the Spiritual Beast finally snapped, sending a dozen airwaves crashing forth with a right-handed flourish.
The gray gust transformed into multiple waves, encircling Lin Zifeng, distorting the air just as it had the ground earlier. Sensing this, Lin Zifeng quickly quashed his smile and braced to dodge.
Unexpectedly, Little Luobo wriggled out of his arms, standing protectively before Lin Zifeng as the waves crashed into its tiny frame.
“Boom…”
The sheer force of the gray blast obscured Lin Zifeng’s view, leaving him awestruck by the feminine beast’s frightening power. Yet, as dust settled, a familiar sound lifted his spirits.
“Yiya yiya…”
As the dust dispersed, Little Luobo stood clawing the air, its petite face flush with indignation.
Knowing Little Luobo’s temperament, Lin Zifeng understood that this ‘yiya yiya’ meant the little one was really angry now!
“Yiya!”
Indeed, seeing the Spiritual Beast stunned and staring at it, Little Luobo let out a sudden shriek, ready to pounce with tiny extended hands.
The creature, stunned by the drastic shift in Little Luobo’s demeanor, sensed the oppressive force that commanded submission!
