Chapter 1018 - 103: Mu Clan Ruins
Chapter 1018: Chapter 103: Mu Clan Ruins
The same.
The Cultivation Realm is the same, isn’t it fair for a battle?
Mu Qingge’s clear eyes gazed into the distance, thoughts whirling in her mind. Her hands behind her back subtly released strands of Divine Power that continuously nourished the Artifact Spirit within the Linglong Spear.
For years, she never dared to delay, nor dared to forget.
Even when she needed to enter seclusion for cultivation, she would consciously release strands of Divine Power to nourish day and night without cease.
She believed that if she persisted, one day Yuanyuan would awaken and would return to her side.
Mu Qingge’s Divine Power gradually seeped into the finger cover formed by the Linglong Spear. Through the solid ’wall’, it entered the Artifact Spirit Space. There, the realm where Artifact Spirits were nurtured, lay a figure without a stitch of clothing.
It was a young man, extremely beautiful and delicate.
He was the remaining fragment of Yuanyuan’s Divine Soul. After years of nourishment by Mu Qingge, he had finally regained human form.
Only, between his brows, that dazzling and flowing vermillion crimson mole was absent.
He lay peacefully asleep, his expression tranquil.
The endless Divine Power was constantly inhaled through his nose, nourishing his limbs and bones.
In the Spiritual Energy Space, the weak sound of the heartbeat gradually became clear, growing strong and forceful.
Suddenly, his fingers resting peacefully beside him twitched involuntarily, then returned to stillness. In that instant, it was so fleeting as if nothing had happened, as if it were just an illusion.
...
Xiaocai flew over the West Divine Land for more than half a month before finally landing in a forest.
Retrieving Xiaocai back into space, Mu Qingge looked towards the forest shrouded in white mist.
"I will go ahead and explore." Yin Chen said to Mu Qingge. As she nodded, he transformed into a silver light and disappeared before her and the High Priest.
The forests of the Divine Demon Continent were larger compared to those in the Linchuan Realm or the Middle Ancient Realm.
The size here wasn’t about vastness but the plants within it.
When she first arrived at the Taixuan Demon Realm, she had this feeling. Yet back then, her mind was preoccupied with Si Mo’s safety, leaving no mood for careful observation.
Now, standing in the forest of the Divine Land, she was struck by her own insignificance.
Even without looking afar, just the towering trees, the shrubs, the vines, and thorny bushes beside her were far larger.
"Crossing this forest leads to the former outskirts of the Nine Heavens. It used to be a flourishing city, but now it might only be ruins." The High Priest remarked beside Mu Qingge.
Mu Qingge nodded, saying to him, "Let’s move on."
Yin Chen’s absence indicated that the way ahead was safe.
If there were danger, he would have returned to warn them. Even if unable to extricate himself, through their contractual connection, he could still alert Mu Qingge to be cautious.
Now with nothing amiss, it signified that all things were normal.
"High Priest, Mu Tianyin was fervently nurtured by your senior brother. Are you truly willing to part with him now?" On their way, Mu Qingge asked the High Priest.
The High Priest chuckled ruefully, responding to Mu Qingge, "Young Master, you don’t understand my senior brother’s character. He seems devoid of personal feelings, acting only by the rules, unaware of emotions beyond legality. But in truth, he is a man moved by deep emotions."
"Oh? How so?" Mu Qingge was somewhat intrigued.
The High Priest paused in thought before slowly speaking, "My senior brother accompanied the Mu Lord, waging wars far and wide. If he truly were heartless, this conduct would be evident only before others. But all his feelings poured into the Mu Clan and the Mu Ancestor himself."
"..." The High Priest’s words brought a strange gleam to Mu Qingge’s eyes.
Unaware, the High Priest continued, "Young Master, do you know why so few Tianlu worshipers choose to follow the Mu Clan?"
"Because the Mu Clan is powerful." Mu Qingge suppressed the strangeness within, replying directly.
The High Priest laughed and shook his head, "No. The first Tianlu worshiper who submitted to the Mu Clan was my senior brother. Only afterward was it me, and..." Remembering the Tianlu worshiper who died for the Mu Clan, after so many years it remained a hard sentiment to let go.
It was clear the bond between them was truly profound back then.
"It’s true, the Mu Clan was very strong, but most significantly, that generation’s Mu Ancestor had great foresight. His thinking never limited to the Four Seas Divine Land nor confined to a single race. My senior brother shared the same perspective, and they got along exceptionally well. Their mutual understanding and trust were unparalleled. Together, they believed that since the Divine Demon Continent was one, there shouldn’t be division between gods and demons, unity should prevail, and attention should be placed beyond the continent." The High Priest explained.
’Gods and demons united?!’ Mu Qingge raised an eyebrow and thought sarcastically, ’Indeed quite ahead of their time. Not just ten thousand years ago, but even today, people find such a unifying belief between gods and demons hard to accept.’
But what piqued her interest was something else. "Beyond the Divine Demon Continent? What might be there?" Might there be broader realms beyond the Divine Demon Continent?
The High Priest shook his head and queried, "Don’t know. Young Master, have you heard of the World Tree?"
The World Tree?
Mu Qingge shook her head too.
The High Priest elaborated, "The Three Thousand Worlds, Billions of Mortal Realms. Some say they are not scattered randomly in the void like stars, but rather like a tree. The trunk forms the Main World, each branch represents a world system, and the branches of each system are part of the Three Thousand Worlds. The leaves growing on the branches are the numerous Billions of Mortal Realms."
Mu Qingge listened intently; she had heard this theory before. It was in the Demon Realm, at Menglan Riverbank fighting the Alien Race, that Si Mo’s trusted general had told her.
They once mentioned that the Alien Race should originate from another world system, and only because of space fissures between originally distinct systems, did the Alien Race appear in this world.
This is the theory of the World Tree, albeit without any evidence to prove its truth or falseness. However, my senior brother and the then Mu Ancestor believed it unhesitatingly. They envisioned the Divine Demon Continent uniting, focusing outward, perhaps our true enemy comes from another world, not among us sharing the same land. Such an idea was shockingly unconventional, heretical even. Yet, proposed by Mu Ancestor and a Tianlu worshiper, most could only tacitly accept. Their shared dream was to lead the Divine Demon Continent to uncover the world’s truth and find the door to the Main World."
The High Priest’s words stirred a tempest in Mu Qingge’s heart.
Not out of fear of the theory, but because she felt it was damnably plausible!
The existence of Alien Races was indeed proof!
They moved swiftly, with Yin Chen paving the way, advancing almost a thousand meters per step, unconsciously they traversed the forest and stepped onto ruins...
