Undressed By His Legal Services: Marry Me Again
Chapter 111: Suspicious Grin
Naomi tugged at it. The strap remained stuck. She gave it a harder yank, and one of the desk compartments slid open.
A gun sat inside. Her breath caught instantly. She stared at it. This wasn’t the same gun she had seen with Dorian in the garage.
At least, she didn’t think it was. This one had a blue grip. Why did this man need so many guns? One had already been unsettling enough.
She had never held a gun before. Or so she believed. Naomi reached into the compartment and picked it up.
The instant her fingers closed around it, something tore through her mind.
A memory.
Except it couldn’t possibly belong to her. There was a deafening explosion. So loud and violent inside her head that Naomi flinched.
The echo of the shot ripped through her like she had heard it before, like she knew it. Naomi quickly dropped the gun back into the compartment.
She slammed the drawer shut and hurried backward. That was when the office door opened. Naomi nearly jumped.
Dorian walked in with his back still partly turned to the room, speaking to Adrian outside. "That grin is suspicious, Adrian. Wipe it off!" He turned around and stopped. "Naomi?"
The strange flash in her head disappeared beneath the simple relief of seeing him. She smiled.
"Hey..."
"Hey!" He immediately turned back toward the open doorway. "You’re an idiot!" he boomed at Adrian.
Naomi burst out laughing. "I’m guessing he didn’t tell you I was in here."
Dorian closed the door behind him. "Yeah. He enjoys seeing me flustered."
Naomi lifted a brow. "And are you... flustered, husband?"
Dorian crossed the remaining distance between them as Naomi moved toward him, his hands settling naturally around her waist. "Colour me flustered, wife."
Naomi smiled up at him. The gun was forgotten for the moment. The strange memory too. Dorian looked down at her, openly pleased she was there even if he would probably deny just how pleased if questioned under oath.
"Did you need something?"
"Uh... It’s stupid now. I realised that once I got here. You’re so busy."
"Come on, Naomi. What is it?"
She shifted slightly beneath his hands. "It’s... I got excited after seeing Jordan and I brought my excitement here." She immediately began talking faster. "I don’t know why I did. I was just feeling spontaneous, I guess. And then I thought I’d surprise you, which sounded like a much better idea before I got here and saw twenty thousand lawyers walking around looking like democracy was collapsing."
"I don’t even know why I decided to come. I could have gone about my day and met you at home, but then I thought the excitement would be gone by then, so I..." Her words were beginning to run into each other.
Dorian watched her mouth. Naomi kept going.
"...and obviously I didn’t think through the part where you actually work when you come to work, which sounds incredibly stupid now that I’m saying it out loud because obviously you work here, you’re a lawyer, people pay you probably offensive amounts of money to—"
Dorian lifted one finger and gently placed it against her lips. Naomi stopped. His eyes remained on her mouth. "When you talk this fast, your lips get distracting." His thumb replaced his finger, brushing lightly over her lower lip.
Naomi felt that tiny touch everywhere. The busy office outside suddenly became much less important.
So did the fact that his walls were glass. So did common sense.
"Do they?"
"I wish you had any idea what it feels like to kiss you," Dorian whispered.
Naomi’s eyes dropped to his mouth. "Maybe that’s what I feel when I kiss you." She leaned forward before she could think better of it, her body already drawn toward his.
Dorian lowered his head. At the very last second, Naomi remembered exactly where they were.
"People might see, Dorian."
He almost smiled. She didn’t know. The glass surrounding his office was one-way. From inside, they could see almost everything happening on the floor. From outside, no one could see a damn thing unless he changed the privacy setting. Dorian could have told her. He chose not to. "Let them," he murmured. "You’re my wife."
He kissed her before she could argue. Naomi made a tiny sound of protest that disappeared straight into his mouth.
She kissed him back. Softly at first, but Dorian’s hands were already sliding down her back, settling at her waist before moving lower. He pulled her against him until there was barely any space left between their bodies. Naomi’s fingers curled into the front of his shirt.
This had been a terrible idea.
Coming here.
Seeing him.
Letting him touch her.
All terrible.
She loved every second of it. When she finally pulled away, she kept her eyes closed for a moment. "Dorian, we have to behave."
His mouth brushed the side of her face. "I’m beginning to hate the rest of the week. I only look forward to Saturdays now."
She laughed softly because, unfortunately, she understood exactly what he meant. "Me too."
Dorian groaned against her skin. His lips moved slowly toward her ear. "I can’t stop, Naomi." His fingers slid into her hair. "I can’t stop touching you." He gathered a few strands and brought them toward his face, breathing her in like he had somehow become addicted to the scent of her.
Naomi’s pulse jumped. She was still painfully aware of all the people outside. She glanced toward the glass again. "Dorian..."
Before she could finish, he turned her. She gasped as her back met his chest before he moved her forward and pressed her gently against the glass.
Her eyes widened. "Dorian!"
He stepped in behind her. She felt him hard against her, pressed firmly against her ass.
Oh.
So much for behaving. Dorian leaned closer, his mouth near her ear.
"That’s what you do to me," he whispered. His voice had dropped into that rough tone that always made her brain immediately abandon useful tasks. "Every goddamned time."
