Undead Lord: Starting All Over With Infinite Mana & Fusion
Chapter 8: Benefits Of Infinite Mana
[Infinite Mana]
[Grade: Divine]
[The flow of mana within your body shall never cease. Mana reserves become limitless and inexhaustible, allowing abilities, skills, authorities, and summons to be fueled without concern for depletion.]
"Your mana shall never run dry."
[Fusion]
[Grade: Divine]
[The bearer of this blessing may fuse three identical components into a higher-grade version. Valid components include items, skills, summons, authorities, artifacts, resources, and other compatible entities. Each successful fusion advances the target by one Grade.]
Limitations:
Only identical components may be fused.
Three components are required per fusion.
Fusion will fail if no higher grade exists.
"Three become one. One becomes greater."
[Regression]
[Grade: Divine]
[The host may return their consciousness three days into the past. Upon activation, all memories and experiences accumulated during the affected period are retained.]
Cooldown: Four Months
[Warning: Paradoxes generated by Regression are absorbed by the Lord’s Domain.]
"The past may be revisited, but never without purpose."
Cassian read through the details once. Then twice. Four times. Eight times. Sixteen times.
He still couldn’t fully comprehend how such heaven-defying powers could even exist, let alone how all three had been bestowed upon him at once.
Taking a deep breath, his mind immediately raced as strategic plans began to take shape.
’With Infinite Mana, the only limit to my summon numbers will be the physical cards in my possession. It won’t be long before I amass an endless legion of the undead.’
’As for Fusion, no resource is truly trash anymore. I can evolve anything to a higher grade as long as I have enough identical components. And Regression... Regression is essentially an impenetrable safety net.’
He clenched his fists, staring into the dark sky of the Graveshade Expanse.
’With these blessings, my potential is limitless. But I must not get overconfident. Potential is just that—potential. Until it is realized, it means nothing.’
Exhaling slowly to clear his head, Cassian turned his attention toward the center of his territory.
It was time to summon his very first troops.
....
The Summoning Gate was the most important infrastructure within a Lord’s territory.
Cassian stared at the structure that would dictate his future. It was the only building the Lord’s Domain had granted him upon arrival.
Rising nearly four meters into the air, the gate resembled a massive stone archway carved from polished black obsidian.
Countless ancient runes glowed faintly across its surface, their pale violet light pulsing rhythmically like a heartbeat.
Bound within the arch was no physical door, but a swirling vortex of pitch-black darkness.
Shadows twisted endlessly within, forming a bottomless abyss that seemed capable of swallowing light and sound alike. Every so often, ghostly wisps drifted from the portal before dissolving into the cold air.
The sight alone was enough to send a chill down an ordinary person’s spine. Yet Cassian knew the truth.
Beyond the gate lay a direct connection to the Nether World, the birthplace of every entity that would eventually fall under his command.
It was through this structure that soldiers would answer his call, champions would be recruited, and his army would take shape.
To most Lords, the Summoning Gate was simply a medium. To Cassian, it was the foundation of everything.
His kingdom. His strength. His future. Without it, a Lord was little more than an ordinary man.
Looking at the swirling darkness within the archway, Cassian felt a faint surge of anticipation. The gate stood silent beneath the twin moons, yet he could almost hear it whispering, waiting for its master to build an empire of the dead.
Without hesitation, Cassian retrieved the Common 2-Star Soldier Summoning Card from his Vault.
[Two-Star Common Soldier Summoning Card]
Grade: Common ★★
Type: Consumable
A standard summoning card used by Lords to recruit soldiers from the Nether World.
Upon activation, the card establishes a temporary connection between the Summoning Gate and the souls aligned with the Lord’s Troop type and Lord Seed, allowing soldiers to be summoned using mana.
Effect:
Consumes mana to summon soldiers.
Summons 6 soldiers per mana supplied.
Duration: 1 minute
Special Note:There is a small chance for a summoned soldier to emerge as an Elite Soldier, possessing greater attributes and potential than ordinary troops.
Undead Lord Effect:All summoned soldiers will manifest as Undead variants drawn from the Nether World.
"The foundation of every army begins with a single summon."
Cassian smiled as he looked down at the card.
In his previous life, he hadn’t lasted ten seconds before the summoning process drained his mana completely.
The moment the card activated back then, his reserves had emptied like water from a shattered bucket, forcing him to stop long before he could build a proper fighting force.
But this time was different. He possessed Infinite Mana.
There would be no exhaustion, no limitations, and no need to carefully ration every drop of energy. As long as the card remained active, he could channel power into it without pause.
A sharp grin spread across his face.
"Activate."
The summoning card dissolved into particles of light, and the gate responded instantly.
The runes carved across its obsidian surface were the first to react, flaring to life as their violet glow intensified until they resembled veins of molten light.
A deep hum echoed through the territory.
The vortex within the archway began to churn violently. Shadows twisted, darkness swirled, and the connection to the Nether World widened.
Then, the first summons arrived.
Six figures emerged from the darkness. Skeletal hands reached out from the vortex before six humanoid skeletons stepped onto the dead earth, one after another.
Pale blue soul fire burned within their hollow eye sockets, and rusted weapons hung from their bony fingers.
The moment their feet touched the ground, they dropped to one knee before Cassian.
Yet he didn’t stop.
Mana continued pouring into the gate, endless, boundless, and uninterrupted.
The vortex spun even faster. Another six skeletons marched forth. Then another six. Then another.
The gate became a factory of death. Every few seconds, more undead emerged from the shadows as their ranks expanded relentlessly.
Twelve.
Twenty-four.
Thirty-six.
Forty-eight.
Sixty.
The barren ground before the gate gradually filled with kneeling skeletons awaiting orders.
Most Lords would have been forced to stop after the first few summons as their mana reserves ran completely dry.
Cassian experienced no such problem.
Infinite mana flowed from him like a bottomless ocean. The Summoning Gate greedily devoured the raw energy, transforming it directly into soldiers.
For an entire minute, the process continued without pause. The humming of the gate never weakened, the vortex never slowed, and the stream of undead never ceased.
When the final seconds elapsed, the light surrounding the gate gradually dimmed. The vortex settled, the runes returned to a faint glow, and silence once again descended upon the territory.
Standing before Cassian was a true army.
Three hundred and sixty Skeleton Soldiers.
Row after row of undead stood beneath the twin moons, their soul fires flickering ominously in the darkness. Not a single one made a sound.
They simply waited, for the command of their Lord.
