Undead Lord: Starting All Over With Infinite Mana & Fusion

Chapter 122: Fighting Fire With Infinite Mana

Space rippled violently across the rooftop.

?Before Louis could utter another word, the scenery around him distorted into a blur of light. In the next instant, he found himself standing inside the living room of the Voss family apartment, with Ruby still standing by his side.

?The little girl blinked at her sudden change in surroundings before her gaze locked onto the familiar figure across the room.

?"Dad!"

?Her face lit up instantly.

?Abandoning her earlier curiosity about the Overseer, Ruby sprinted toward Cassian with her arms wide open.

Cassian’s cold expression melted instantly into a warm smile as he knelt down and caught her, lifting her effortlessly into his arms.

?"There you are, my little troublemaker." He planted a gentle kiss on her flushed cheek.

?Ruby giggled, wrapping her small arms tightly around his neck and resting her chin on his shoulder.

?Cassian held her close, soaking in the quiet warmth of her embrace. He had been haunted for a long time by the moments he had lost with his family.

Now that he had been granted a second chance, even a simple, mundane reunion like this felt priceless.

?Beside them, Nyxara observed the scene with a soft, affectionate smile.

’?So this is his daughter...’

?She had known Cassian had a family, but witnessing the tenderness in his eyes as he held Ruby made the reality hit differently.

It was a gentle, protective warmth she had never seen when he dealt with enemies or commanded subordinates.

?For a brief second, she found herself wishing this peaceful moment could last forever.

?Unfortunately, Ruby’s sharp eyes soon drifted in her direction.

?The little girl studied Nyxara’s features, her long, pointed ears, pale skin, and light-purple hair. Her initial curiosity slowly transformed into a subtle, discerning frown.

?Nyxara blinked, taken aback.

’What did I do?’

?She cast a quick, self-conscious glance down at her attire, wondering if something was amiss.

She hadn’t uttered a single word to the child, let alone done anything to offend her.

?Yet Ruby continued to eye her with intense suspicion.

?Nyxara could only return the stare, completely baffled.

?The silent exchange didn’t escape Louis’s sharp notice, but he had far more critical matters to attend to.

A planet was teetering on the edge of destruction.

?He turned toward Cassian, his expression grave. "Now that we are all gathered, explain the solution you mentioned."

?Cassian’s demeanor shifted back to deadly seriousness. He gently set Ruby down on the sofa before turning to face the Overseer.

?Louis had just rescued his daughter from an armed assault. Regardless of the circumstances, Cassian owed him a debt of gratitude.

More importantly, the lives of billions of innocent people hung in the balance.

?He had no intention of withholding a solution when the stakes were this high.

?"We counter the energy produced by the Worldbreaker Core with another energy source capable of neutralizing its output."

?Seraphina: "..."

?Louis: "..."

?For a few long seconds, neither of them spoke.

?Then, Seraphina’s lips curved into a soft, indulging smile. "That is a wonderful idea, honey." She paused, her eyes searching his. "But where exactly are we supposed to find an energy source of that scale on such short notice?"

?Her tone was warm, but her question was dead serious.

?Louis nodded in firm agreement. "Your mother is right. The theoretical principle is sound, but the practical execution is another matter entirely."

?Folding his arms across his chest, the Overseer began to elaborate. "Worldbreaker Cores operate through a continuous binary fusion process. Their internal matrices trigger a chain reaction where the generated energy multiplies exponentially. The longer the reaction runs, the more energy it produces, until the process becomes entirely self-sustaining."

?His expression darkened. "Once the core reaches that critical phase, its output becomes effectively limitless for the duration of the detonation. That is precisely why the weapon is so terrifying. Even if someone possesses enough power to suppress it initially, the core’s energy output will continually scale until the resulting explosion vaporizes the planet."

?Louis let the gravity of his words settle in the air before continuing. "To counter a reaction like that, we would need an opposing energy source capable of matching its output at every single stage. Under normal circumstances, finding anything that can yield effectively infinite energy, even for a few seconds, is an impossibility."

?He fixed his gaze on Cassian. "And we do not have the luxury of time. Every second we waste, the weapon inches closer to its point of no return."

?Seraphina nodded thoughtfully. "Even if we knew where to locate such a source, transporting it to the core and integrating it into the ongoing reaction presents a monumental hazard."

?"Precisely," Louis replied. "We would need an energy source strong enough to match the core, a method to introduce it without setting off the anti-tamper failsafes, and precise control to ensure the two forces neutralize each other rather than amplify the catastrophic blast."

?He exhaled a weary sigh.

?Cassian, however, simply smiled.

?It was not a comforting smile. It was the expression of a man who already held the winning card to an impossible game.

?Nyxara, who had been listening intently, felt her heart skip a beat as her smile vanished.

’?My Lord... what are you planning?’

?She knew Cassian far too well. Whenever he wore that specific look, it meant he had devised a way to accomplish the unthinkable, and that he was about to throw himself into immense danger to achieve it.

?Seraphina caught his expression as well, her blue eyes narrowing slightly. "Cassian?"

?He didn’t answer her right away. Instead, he locked eyes directly with Louis.

?The Overseer’s eyes widened as a sudden, staggering realization struck him. "Wait." His voice carried a rare note of pure disbelief. "Don’t tell me you actually have access to an infinite energy source."

?Cassian raised an eyebrow, his tone cool and confident. "Why would I propose the plan if I didn’t?"

?Louis stared at him in utter silence. For a moment, he couldn’t decide if the young Lord before him was extraordinarily brilliant or completely out of his mind.

?Perhaps both.

?Seraphina’s expression grew complex, filled with hidden depths of concern. She knew her son held miraculous secrets, but she couldn’t fathom what he was about to unleash.

?"Explain, dear."

?Cassian nodded. He glanced back at Ruby to make sure she was settled comfortably on the couch before addressing the two powerhouses standing before him.

?"First, we need to understand the mechanism. The Worldbreaker Core isn’t producing infinite energy out of thin air. Its binary fusion reaction continually multiplies its current output until the energy density becomes practically limitless. That is why conventional suppression fails."

?Louis nodded slowly. "Correct."

?"Then we don’t try to overpower the core with a finite pool of mana," Cassian stated, his voice ringing with absolute certainty. "We introduce an energy source whose output literally cannot be exhausted."

?Cassian raised his right hand, his fingers curling slightly. "And as it happens, I possess a Divine Blessing that provides exactly that."

?Louis froze.

?Seraphina’s eyes widened in shock.

?Cassian remained composed, choosing not to elaborate further on the exact nature of his [Infinite Mana] blessing as he pressed on.

"If we channel that unrestricted output directly against the Worldbreaker Core’s reaction, we can force a complete energy neutralization before the critical threshold is crossed."

?For several long seconds, no one in the apartment dared to breathe.

?Then, Louis let out a slow, heavy breath. He scrutinized Cassian’s face, searching for any hint of exaggeration or arrogance, but found only cold, calculated resolve.

?Cassian turned his attention toward Seraphina. "Mother, you mentioned monitoring the activity around Ruby’s school. I need you to use your perception to pinpoint the exact location of the Worldbreaker Core and track its escalation."

?Seraphina studied her son silently for a moment before giving a firm nod. "Consider it done."

?"And what is my role in this?" Louis asked, his eyes gleaming with a sharp, dangerous light.

?Cassian’s gaze hardened. "All those pests who think they can hold this planet hostage, let’s use them as our scapegoats and clear the path."

?A ruthless smirk touched Louis’s aged face as he caught the underlying strategy. "Understood."

?"Then we move now," Cassian said, stepping toward the window as his blue eyes reflected the glittering, oblivious city skyline below. "We don’t have much time."
