Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier
Chapter 515 - 285: Competition Starts in Kindergarten
Tang Guo instinctively peeked inside, but could only vaguely make out her mother’s pale back.
’But why is it a little red?’
’How strange!’
"It’s my fault. Let’s get going now."
Qi Sheng thought they wouldn’t make it in time and planned to wash up when he got back.
"There’s no need to rush. You have to brush your teeth and wash your face, Uncle, or you’re not being a good boy!"
Acting like a little adult, Tang Guo glanced at her kids’ watch and urged Qi Sheng to go wash up.
"Okay, whatever Guoguo says."
Qi Sheng carried Tang Guo into the bathroom.
Liu Rong had already laid out all his toiletries the day before.
’That was the great thing about a mature woman like her—sensible and not clingy.’
Only after she saw Qi Sheng finish washing up did Tang Guo give him a kiss on the cheek.
"MWAH! Now you can take me to school, Uncle!"
"I don’t know what to do with you."
Qi Sheng chuckled and gently pinched Tang Guo’s little nose, then carried her out of the master bedroom.
"Ah Sheng, why don’t you have some breakfast before you go? This little one insisted you take her to school. Her grandpa and I tried to talk her out of it for ages, but she wouldn’t budge."
Mrs. Liu approached with a beaming smile, couldn’t have been more pleased with her new son-in-law.
When she got up for a drink of water in the dead of night, she had even heard her daughter’s intermittent sounds.
’Given how vigorously Qi Sheng was going at it... it probably wouldn’t be long before she and her husband would be holding a new grandchild.’
"I have some things to take care of at the office after I drop Guoguo off, so I won’t be back for breakfast."
Qi Sheng did, in fact, have a pile of work waiting for him.
Taking the previous day off to spend with Liu Rong had already been a rare break from his busy schedule.
"Oh, of course. You go ahead and take care of your business. I’ll let Rongrong know when she wakes up."
Mrs. Liu was not the least bit displeased, nodding with an understanding smile.
’Everything they were enjoying now is thanks to their son-in-law, after all. His business is a proper priority. Not like Tang Xu, who lost his job and turned into a gambling degenerate. Now that he sees their daughter is doing well, he’s shamelessly trying to come back and sponge off her. Pah! In his dreams!’
Mrs. Liu walked them to the elevator. She watched the two of them chatting and laughing as the doors closed, then went back inside her apartment.
Mr. Liu, who had been too shy to say anything earlier, couldn’t help but prod his wife.
"Go check Rongrong’s room. See if they used... you know."
"Used what?"
Mrs. Liu was completely baffled.
"I’m worried Ah Sheng might not want to have kids this early. Go check the trash can for any rubber products."
Mr. Liu had been young once, too. He remembered that Qi Sheng was only twenty-five.
He probably still had a few years before he’d want to become a father.
"Alright, I’ll go look."
Yesterday, Mrs. Liu had only been focused on how many times the couple had gone at it; she hadn’t considered this angle at all.
The master bedroom door wasn’t locked.
Mrs. Liu walked right in. Seeing the mess on the floor, she couldn’t help but tut.
’It was obvious her daughter and son-in-law had really gone at it. Youth these days... The chaise lounge at the foot of the bed, the vanity... even the bay window seemed to bear traces of their activities.’
But after searching the whole room, especially the trash can, she didn’t find any of those rubber things.
Mrs. Liu instantly breathed a sigh of relief and walked out of the master bedroom, overjoyed.
"Old man, there was nothing like what you said."
Mrs. Liu began to daydream with a chuckle. ’If her daughter gave birth to a son, she’d have one of each. If it was a granddaughter, well, they could just try for another. The government is encouraging a third child now, after all. And with how rich Qi Sheng is, he surely wouldn’t mind the cost of raising a few kids.’
"That’s good."
A smile spread across Mr. Liu’s face as well.
"Let’s go to the temple later today to offer some prayers."
"We absolutely should."
Mrs. Liu had been thinking the same thing, a perfect meeting of minds with her husband.
...
Meanwhile, Qi Sheng carried Tang Guo down to the underground parking garage.
When she saw the Cullinan’s logo, Tang Guo asked curiously.
"Dad, is this a Rolls-Royce?"
"You know about Rolls-Royce?"
Qi Sheng was surprised.
"Yeah, there’s this chubby kid in my class who’s always bragging that his family has one, and the teacher is super nice to him."
Tang Guo remembered it clearly. The chubby kid had even drawn the Rolls-Royce emblem for her—two R’s.
"Well then, when you get to school, you can tell that chubby kid that our family has a Rolls-Royce too, and it’s a Cullinan."
Qi Sheng chuckled, ruffling Tang Guo’s hair with a particularly indulgent tone.
"What’s a Cullinan?"
Tang Guo blinked her big eyes, obviously not understanding the word.
"Hmm, it’s Rolls-Royce’s most expensive SUV. This one cost ten million to get on the road."
Qi Sheng said casually, "And if he still gives you trouble, tell him our family has a plane. His dad definitely doesn’t have one of those."
"A plane?"
Tang Guo’s eyes instantly lit up. "The kind that flies in the sky?"
"Of course. For the New Year, Dad will take you on our plane to see your grandpa and grandma."
’Qi Sheng thought about how desperately his parents wanted a grandchild. It would be perfect to bring Tang Guo to them and let them dote on a grandchild for a bit.’
"Wow, that’s great! I have a grandpa and grandma now!"
Tang Guo excitedly planted a kiss on Qi Sheng’s cheek.
She had never met her paternal grandparents in her whole life.
She had rarely even seen her previous father.
When she played in their residential community, she would see other kids with their grandparents. But she only had her maternal grandparents, never paternal ones.
Seeing Tang Guo’s excited little face, Qi Sheng’s heart ached for her a little.
’Other kids were spoiled by four grandparents. But Tang Guo only had her maternal grandparents. Even though Tang Guo isn’t my biological daughter, after our recent interactions, I’ve really grown fond of the little girl. She’s well-behaved and sensible, the perfect image of a sweet, caring daughter I’d always imagined. As for her eventually siding with her future husband over her dad, well, that’s a problem for when she’s all grown up. As long as I raise her right, there’s no way I’ll let her fall for some punk kid.’
...
「The Kindergarten」
It was only 1 kilometer from Hejing Yufeng.
Normally, Liu Rong and her parents walked Tang Guo to kindergarten.
