Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier
Chapter 510 - 284: With a Cullinan, Life Is No Longer Hard (Part 2)
In the meantime, her main concern was figuring out how to make more money for Qi Sheng.
...
In addition to his heavy investment in Ping Duoduo, Qi Sheng began considering the purchase of a new headquarters for his group.
Shengxuan Financial Center seemed a bit too disorderly for Qi Sheng’s taste.
The actual office space only took up half of the building.
If Shengxuan Group moved out, the vacated office space would be perfect for Pop Mart.
Scones had been asking Qi Sheng to expand their office space for a while now.
Spicy King and Universal Entertainment each had their own separate office buildings.
The core of Zhuangyu Catering lay in the various stores run by Zifei and Yu Tu.
Their need for office space wasn’t particularly great.
Since the group headquarters was relocating, they couldn’t possibly move somewhere worse than their current building.
Shengxuan Group was the parent company, after all. More importantly, it was a reflection of Qi Sheng’s own prestige.
Qi Sheng summoned Zhou Huaiping. After Qin Qingyi poured them tea, he brought up the matter.
"Boss, what’s your budget?"
Zhou Huaiping was, of course, thrilled at the prospect of Qi Sheng purchasing a new office building. It would mean more properties for Shengxuan Property to manage.
"Under five billion."
Qi Sheng calculated that with next month’s system reward, he would have about 13.1 billion on hand.
After deducting the funds for his heavy investment in Ping Duoduo and the 150 million US dollars he had promised to Lu Fang, he would have about 5.1 billion left, at most.
"Five billion?"
Zhou Huaiping’s eyes bulged as he gulped.
It took him a long moment to process the shock.
With land prices in Chengdu, that was enough to casually buy almost any prime Grade-A office building.
Zhou Huaiping thought hard for a moment, and his eyes suddenly lit up.
"Boss, are you familiar with the Financial City Twin Towers?"
"The Twin Towers?"
Qi Sheng pondered for a moment. "You mean the Twin Towers next to the Huashang Financial Center?"
"That’s right. The two buildings are very close, only about two hundred meters apart. They’re both landmarks in Financial City."
"I saw that Financial City was promoting them recently. Construction is set to finish in March, and they’re expected to open for use in October."
"However, I heard the North Tower will be sold off as apartments and a hotel, while the South Tower, the office building, is only for lease, not for sale."
"But that all depends on how you negotiate with them, Boss."
When Zhou Huaiping had first heard news of the Twin Towers’ upcoming completion, he had fantasized about Shengxuan Property managing it one day.
He never imagined their boss would have the means to acquire a landmark, prime Grade-A office building like this so soon.
’Let me see...’
Qi Sheng used the system to search for the Financial City Twin Towers.
The price for a compulsory acquisition was exactly five billion.
’This price is right at the upper limit of what I can accept.’
Qi Sheng smiled, not hesitating for a moment.
He decided to acquire it as soon as the funds arrived early next month.
With Shengxuan Group’s current growth trajectory, it was only a matter of time before it became the leading enterprise in Chengdu.
A leading enterprise and a city landmark made for a rather fitting pair.
"Next month, I’ll allocate the funds to buy the Twin Towers."
"Once it’s officially operational, I’ll hand it over to Shengxuan Property to manage."
Qi Sheng figured that since his wealth would only continue to grow, he could probably make Shengxuan Property expand like a balloon just by buying up buildings.
"Ahem, Boss, are you sure you don’t want to consider any other office buildings?"
Zhou Huaiping hadn’t expected his boss to decide on buying the Twin Towers so quickly.
It was a nearly five-billion-yuan office building, after all.
Why did it seem like Qi Sheng was buying it as casually as he would a watch?
As the saying goes, you buy a watch with a month’s salary and a car with a year’s salary.
Qi Sheng’s monthly income was 9.32 billion. Spending five billion on a new headquarters for the group seemed perfectly reasonable, didn’t it?
...
As Zhou Huaiping left the chairman’s office, he couldn’t keep the grin off his face.
When Jie Chao saw him, he greeted him with a smile. "Old Zhou, what’s got you so happy?"
"Heh, the group headquarters is moving. Guess where to?"
Zhou Huaiping didn’t try to hide it from Jie Chao.
Zhuangyu Catering would be moving to the new office building along with the group headquarters anyway.
"Moving?"
Jie Chao was a little stunned. "The boss didn’t notify me."
"The move is still a long way off. I just got a heads-up, so don’t go spreading rumors."
Not that Zhou Huaiping was worried about Jie Chao’s loose lips. He continued to be coy.
"Knowing our boss’s style, is the new headquarters over two billion?"
Jie Chao knew Qi Sheng quite well.
If he’d decided to move the headquarters, he definitely wouldn’t be skimping.
"Nope, keep guessing."
Zhou Huaiping said with a smile and a shake of his head.
"Damn, you really know how to keep a guy in suspense."
Jie Chao laughed. "Three billion?"
"Keep going."
Zhou Huaiping shook his head again.
"Don’t tell me... four billion?"
Jie Chao’s voice trembled slightly.
That price was just ridiculously high.
"Alright, I’ll stop messing with you. The boss has his eye on the Financial City Twin Towers. The total price should be around five billion."
Zhou Huaiping chuckled and patted Jie Chao on the shoulder.
"I’ve gotta go. You can go report to the boss now."
He’d probably burst if he was the only one who knew about something this big.
Having Jie Chao to share the news with was a huge relief.
"Tsk, tsk. The boss is really something else. So damn impressive!"
Jie Chao shook his head in amazement and greeted Qin Qingyi, who was outside the office.
"Secretary Qin, could you please let the boss know I have something to report?"
"Of course, President Jie. Please wait a moment."
Having just started as the chairman’s secretary, Qin Qingyi’s work ethic was a far cry from her two slick, work-shy predecessors.
’Now that she had a proper, permanent position, who would ever want to go back to being a flight attendant?’
Qi Sheng had simply purchased a management package from the private jet company.
Now, whenever he flew, they would arrange for the flight attendant service.
It was a tad more expensive, but other than that, there wasn’t much of a difference.
