Chapter 347 -268: A Raging Sky Brings Rain, an Arrogant Man Invites Disaster
Back then, Jiang Ruan had been by Gu Heng’s side, wrapped in an expensive purple mink coat. She was as beautiful as a Moon Palace Fairy descending to the mortal world, leaving a very deep impression on Zhang Mingwei.
Gu Heng’s woman, harassed in a place under his management?
The very thought made Zhang Mingwei feel faint.
A report had indeed come in just now that a woman was in the VIC lounge looking for someone. But he had been busy welcoming Chu Zhengnan at the time. Besides, he’d subconsciously assumed the woman was probably no one respectable, so he hadn’t thought anything of it.
If he had known earlier that it was Jiang Ruan, even Chu Zhengnan himself would have probably had to go and greet her personally upon finding out.
The fact that Gu Heng had even brought Jiang Ruan along to Xingchuan International Group for the equity transfer was proof enough of how much he doted on her.
Pillow talk is a powerful thing.
Gu Heng was young and hot-blooded. If his precious wife was wronged here, then ran home to cry and complain to him, all of them would be in for a world of hurt.
At this moment, facing Chu Zhengnan’s apology, Jiang Ruan furrowed her delicate brows.
She gently flexed her wrist. Her skin was naturally fair, and since Gao Hailong had been drunk and unable to control his strength, a clear, circular bruise was now visible where he had gripped her.
When Chu Zhengnan saw the bruise on Jiang Ruan’s wrist, he cursed inwardly, ‘We’re screwed.’
‘As long as Gu Heng isn’t blind, he’ll definitely see that bruise on her wrist.’
‘There’s no way tonight’s incident is going to be resolved peacefully.’
“Are all of you blind or deaf?”
“Couldn’t you see someone harassing Miss Jiang just now?”
“Why did you all just stand there and do nothing!”
“Why didn’t any of you step in to stop it!”
Chu Zhengnan’s fierce gaze swept across the servers on both sides of the hallway, who were now trembling like quails. The raging fury suppressed in his voice was palpable.
“President Nan, it’s not their fault.”
Jiang Ruan said with a frown, “A server did try to step in just now, but he got slapped across the face.”
“Just great!”
“The absolute nerve!”
“Daring to harass an honored guest on my turf, and even openly striking my staff!”
After hearing Jiang Ruan’s explanation, Chu Zhengnan’s expression grew even colder.
“President Nan!”
“I’m Gao Hailong!”
“My dad is Gao Zhengyang!”
“Our families are business partners!”
When Gao Hailong saw Chu Zhengnan’s bone-chilling gaze land on him, he fought through the sharp pain in his chest and quickly stated his name, hoping to appease Chu Zhengnan’s anger.
“Gao Zhengyang?”
Chu Zhengnan sneered, his gaze shifting to Zhang Mingwei. “Find a private room and hold him there. Then, call Gao Zhengyang and tell him to come get his son.”
“Yes, sir.”
Zhang Mingwei answered respectfully, then signaled the security guards behind him. They proceeded to drag away the still-pleading Gao Hailong like a dead dog.
“Miss Jiang, I promise to handle this matter in a way that is satisfactory to both you and Chairman Gu.”
Chu Zhengnan lowered his voice and said to Jiang Ruan, “There are too many prying eyes here. Allow me to escort you to the VIC lounge, so Chairman Gu doesn’t get anxious from waiting.”
“Alright.”
Jiang Ruan knew who Chu Zhengnan was. When he said something like this, it meant the matter would undoubtedly be dealt with.
By now, the commotion had drawn the attention of guests in many of the private rooms. Doors were ajar and heads were poking out, trying to see what all the fuss was about.
This time, Chu Zhengnan personally escorted Jiang Ruan toward the VIC lounge. Meanwhile, Luo Xing, who had been riding Gao Hailong’s coattails, was cowering in a corner. Trembling, he tried to inch away, hoping to go unnoticed.
“Think you can just leave?”
“Get over here!”
A cold glint flashed in Zhang Mingwei’s eyes. He reached out, grabbed a handful of Luo Xing’s gel-stiffened hair, and gave it a vicious tug, handing him over to the security guards.
“Clean up this mess, then all of you get back to work.”
Zhang Mingwei ordered the other staff in the hallway. Then, watching Chu Zhengnan and Jiang Ruan recede into the distance, he hurried after them, his expression fraught with worry…
