Tycoon: From Rags to Riches
Chapter 331: Punishment and Realization
Chapter 331 -260: Punishment and Realization
SLAM—
The door slammed shut, and Cai Wen’s eyes went wide.
She didn’t say a word, just threw her hands up at Feng Yao in a dramatic gesture.
“Yes.”
“That was Gu Heng.”
Feng Yao looked a little downcast.
“No, I mean…”
“You two are already… in that kind of relationship.”
Cai Wen was completely baffled. “He sees you and doesn’t even say a word, and you see him out late at night with another young girl and you’re not even fazed. What is going on with you two?”
“I’m his woman, but I’m not his girlfriend.”
Feng Yao fell silent for a moment before replying softly, “Does that make sense to you?”
“So, was that girl just now his girlfriend?”
Cai Wen asked tentatively, her mouth hanging slightly open.
“I don’t know.”
Feng Yao shook her head, Wang Wan Ning’s words to Gu Heng echoing in her mind and stirring a quiet turmoil within her heart.
“I have to say, Yaoyao, you’ve got good taste.”
“He really is tall and handsome, and he has this special charisma.”
Seeing the change in Feng Yao’s expression, Cai Wen quickly added, “No matter how it ends, we’ve come out way ahead. It’s a total win.”
“Sigh…”
Feng Yao sighed. “You don’t have to console me. I’ve been mentally prepared for this, I just didn’t expect to run into it so soon.”
“It really was too much of a coincidence.”
“If I’d known, I wouldn’t have been editing photos in the restaurant. If we had left just ten minutes earlier, we wouldn’t have run into such an awkward situation.”
Cai Wen’s voice held a hint of guilt. Even though Feng Yao was trying to downplay it, as a fellow woman, Cai Wen could empathize completely.
Putting herself in Feng Yao’s shoes, if she had just given her body to a man last night, only to see him acting intimately with another young girl late the very next day, she knew she would be devastated, no matter how mentally prepared she thought she was.
“It’s not your fault.”
“Who could have predicted something like this?”
Feng Yao managed a faint smile for Cai Wen, her voice gentle and reassuring.
“So now are you…?”
Just as Cai Wen was about to say something more, a sudden knock echoed on the door of their suite.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK…
In the dead of night, the sound was startling.
“Who is it?”
Feng Yao asked reflexively.
“Me.”
That single word made Feng Yao’s body instantly go stiff.
“Oh my god!”
“He came looking for you!”
Cai Wen’s eyes widened. She covered her mouth and whispered, “Under the bed? The closet? The curtains? Where can I hide? I want to watch this drama unfold live!”
“Hide? What are you hiding for?”
“Do you really just want to ‘watch the drama unfold’?”
Feng Yao’s face flushed slightly as she shot Cai Wen a playful glare. “I’d be embarrassed to spell it out for you.”
“Tch~”
“So stingy, so stingy~”
“Anyway, I’m right next door. I’ll just press my ear to the wall and listen in~”
Cai Wen whispered with a giggle.
“You…”
“You little hussy!”
“Have you no shame!”
Hearing Cai Wen’s words, Feng Yao’s face instantly burned red.
‘She thought back to last night, how she had started off trying to hold back, only to end up screaming herself hoarse. That sensation, that feeling… it wasn’t something she could restrain just by wanting to. It was a completely primal, physical instinct.’
‘If Gu Heng really wanted it later, she naturally wouldn’t refuse him. But if Cai Wen actually managed to eavesdrop from next door, then no matter how close they were as best friends, the humiliation would be enough to make her want to dig a hole and crawl into it.’
Despite her words, Feng Yao was already walking quickly toward the door.
She opened the door, and Gu Heng stood before her once again.
Compared to their chance encounter in the hallway earlier, where he had looked impeccable and aloof in his tailored suit, this version of Gu Heng was different. Now he wore a white business shirt, his suit jacket slung over one shoulder, his tie loosened around his neck. He looked dashingly uninhibited.
His face was like carved jade, his eyes like bright stars.
His deep, dark eyes were slightly downcast, and his lips were full and sensual.
Just a moment ago, Feng Yao’s heart had been aching with sorrow, but the moment she saw Gu Heng’s face—a face that could only be described as definitive—all other emotions vanished.
“Uhm…”
“You two talk, you two talk. I’ll see myself out.”
Cai Wen looked at the pair, their gazes locked. She raised her hands in surrender and sidled along the wall toward the exit. As she went, she glanced at Gu Heng, who acted as if she were completely invisible, and a flicker of disappointment couldn’t help but cross her eyes.
It was obvious that for all her usual confidence as the self-proclaimed “Xiaomei,” her beauty had utterly failed to capture Gu Heng’s attention. Whatever lingering sliver of hope she might have harbored was now completely crushed.
Cai Wen left dejectedly, pulling the door shut behind her.
“You…”
Feng Yao had barely started to speak before Gu Heng pressed her against the wall of the entryway, lowered his head, and kissed her deeply.
The passion was so intense that Feng Yao was lost in an instant.
Even as the kiss deepened to the point of suffocation, Feng Yao couldn’t help but raise her hands to gently push him away. But Gu Heng caught her wrists, swiftly pinning both her hands above her head against the wall.
“Mmph…”
Already dizzy from the kiss and now slightly deprived of oxygen, Feng Yao felt her entire body go numb and limp. If Gu Heng hadn’t been holding her up by her wrists with one hand, she probably would have collapsed.
An unknown amount of time passed before their lips slowly parted.
“Where were you just now?”
Gu Heng gazed at Feng Yao’s lips, now exceptionally rosy from his kiss, and asked in a low voice.
“I…”
“I went to dinner with Wenwen.”
Feng Yao was like a docile little lamb now, her eyes so glistening they looked as if they might overflow.
“The 1 million spending limit I gave you today—did you use it all up?”
Gu Heng released Feng Yao’s hands, only to then scoop her up with a single arm.
“I didn’t spend it all.”
“There’s still a little left.”
Feng Yao bit her rosy lip, her voice soft. “How… how are you going to punish me?”
“Oh?”
Gu Heng raised an eyebrow. “Looking at you, it seems you’re quite looking forward to my punishment?”
“Of course not…”
Feng Yao wrapped her arms around Gu Heng’s neck, her words clearly betraying her thoughts.
“How much is left?”
A faint scent of alcohol wafted from Gu Heng. Feng Yao used to hate it when Gao Junlin would come to her reeking of alcohol after a night of drinking. But now, faced with Gu Heng and the same scent, she didn’t feel the slightest bit of annoyance. Instead, she found it incredibly masculine.
‘What was that saying again?’
‘When it’s someone you love, you feel a pang in your heart even if they just furrow their brow;’
‘But when it’s someone you don’t, even if he hanged himself, you’d just think he was playing on a swing!’
“About a few tens of thousands left.”
Feng Yao answered in a small voice.
“Alright…”
“Can I apply to repay you in installments…?”
As she spoke the last words, Feng Yao put on a suitably pitiful expression.
“Repay in installments.”
“How should we calculate the interest rate, then?”
As Gu Heng said this, Feng Yao’s “equipment” had already started coming off.
Having just had a spa treatment that afternoon, Feng Yao’s skin was as smooth and delicate as white jade, and her body carried the faint, elegant scent of essential oils.
“You’re the creditor. You can calculate it however you want.”
Feng Yao’s face grew redder and redder, her breathing quickening.
“Seeing me with another woman just now—were you jealous?”
Gu Heng thrust straight to the point while asking softly.
“What do you think?”
Feng Yao was now hanging completely off of Gu Heng. She nibbled on his ear. “If you could pour out all the jealousy in my heart, it would be enough to fill up that private hot spring we were in last night.”
“And now?”
Gu Heng turned around, pressing Feng Yao directly against the door.
“Still a little.”
Feng Yao was quickly getting into it.
“Don’t worry, it’ll all come out~”
Gu Heng said with a slight, wicked smile, his words a clear double entendre.
‘Flow out?’
‘Flow out from where?’
Feng Yao, who was currently in the midst of a “profound experience,” understood instantly.
“Then let’s see what you’ve got~”
The moment Feng Yao said it, she regretted it.
…
While Gu Heng was rocketing into Feng Yao like Astro Boy, Wang Wan Ning emerged from her Park Hyatt Suite carrying a bowl of sober-up soup she had made herself.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK…
“Brother Heng, are you in there?”
Wang Wan Ning walked straight to the Park Hyatt Suite Gu Heng was staying in, raised a hand to knock gently, and called out softly.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK…
“Brother Heng, it’s Wan Ning. Are you there?”
After a long moment with no response, Wang Wan Ning knocked a little harder. She then stood outside the door and waited silently for a few minutes, but there was still no answer from inside.
Turning around, Wang Wan Ning looked toward a certain suite in the distance. A flicker of something passed through her beautiful eyes, and then she started walking slowly toward it…
