Tycoon: Binding with Young Mature Women
Chapter 47: A Small Request
Chapter 47: Chapter 47: A Small Request
Su Yunzhou furrowed his brows, stared at the closed storefront ahead, and offered three guesses.
"Telecom scam?"
"Lottery jackpot?"
"Prime storefront for lease?"
Jiang Shiyue gave a slight nod. "You got the storefront one right, but the other two are wrong. You still have two chances!"
Su Yunzhou pondered for a moment and offered a few more guesses, all of which were promptly rejected.
"You aren’t just making these up, are you?" he asked.
"Why would I?" Jiang Shiyue said through a mouthful of food. "These are all verified scams confirmed by the masses of duped victims. Besides, the answers are already written on my phone. You’re not going to be a sore loser, are you?"
Su Yunzhou fell silent for a moment before using his final chance. "Antique investment, part-time click farming, and high-paying job offer."
"Congratulations!" Jiang Shiyue put down her food. "You got two-thirds right."
With that, she picked up her phone and turned the screen toward him. The three answers were: *Prime Storefront for Lease, High-Paying Job Offer, and Rich Woman Seeking Surrogate Father.*
Three drops of imaginary sweat practically formed on Su Yunzhou’s forehead. "Wow, a rich woman seeking a surrogate father!!!" He then looked at the quirky young woman and asked, "What on earth are you reading all day long?"
"Since when are you so nosy?" After firing back her retort, Jiang Shiyue’s expression shifted into a radiant smile. "Since you lost, doesn’t that mean you have to agree to a small request of mine?"
"Uh... you didn’t mention that at the beginning, did you?"
"Well, I’m mentioning it now!" Jiang Shiyue picked up a BBQ skewer and began to eat, mumbling, "After we finish eating, go to my place and sing a couple of songs. Is that a simple enough request?"
So that was what this entire setup had been about. However, considering he really had eaten several meals on her dime, it only made sense for him to go belt out a few songs.
Su Yunzhou nodded. "Sure, but it can’t be too late. I have an appointment with someone tonight."
Jiang Shiyue checked the time. "It’s 5:30 right now. We’ll head over after we’ve eaten and drank our fill. Singing two songs at eight o’clock will be perfectly fine." As she spoke, she shot a glance at her phone. "Bro, you better sing well tonight. Don’t embarrass me!"
"Get lost." Su Yunzhou didn’t say it out loud, but the words were clear enough from the shape of his lips.
Before they knew it, the two had devoured every last bite of the delicious food on the small table. Jiang Shiyue bought two massive drink buckets, and then the pair strolled leisurely toward the parking lot under the setting sun.
In just one afternoon, Su Yunzhou had managed to earn nearly 5,000 yuan through hard work—no easy feat.
Facing the afterglow of the sunset, the esteemed Panamera owner paid the exorbitant parking fee. Under the slightly envious gazes of passersby, he drove onto the main road, only to end up stuck in an underpass tunnel illuminated by an endless sea of red taillights.
Pharmaceutical Factory.
Manager Gu stood at the entrance, smiling brightly as he watched regular customers arrive one after another.
The boss had sent a message in the afternoon saying that Mr. Su would be coming over tonight, and Gu had immediately posted this news to his Friends Circle and the Official Account. Consequently, on an ordinary Tuesday evening, Pharmaceutical Factory was packed to the brim with guests. It honestly felt even busier than a typical weekend.
Gu was so rushed off his feet that the back of his work shirt was entirely soaked with sweat. The vast majority of the guests were customers who had been present that night, while others were newcomers who had been dragged along by friends.
"Gu, what time is that handsome guy coming tonight?"
"Sister Wang, this is the second time you’ve asked me. The boss said they’re stuck in traffic, but they will definitely be here by eight o’clock."
Gu made a lap around the venue, explaining this exact answer a good seventeen or eighteen times.
At this moment, Sister Qi—a regular among regulars—walked in with a man and a woman. The pair were impeccably dressed and exuded an aloof, sophisticated aura.
"Gu, get me the best seat."
"Sister Qi, welcome!" Gu greeted her warmly, then used his walkie-talkie to arrange the seating. "Sister, please follow me. I’ve arranged a booth on the second floor with the best view for you."
Making a polite gesture, Gu led the three of them upstairs. He had never seen these two guests before, but he vaguely sensed Sister Qi’s deference toward them. Once they sat down, at a signaling glance from Sister Qi, Gu politely handed the drink menu to the meticulously groomed middle-aged man with plucked eyebrows.
"Sir, this is our drink menu for the week. If a brand you like isn’t on it, just let me know, and I’ll have it brought over immediately."
The man pinched the menu between two fingers, scanned it from top to bottom, and asked the equally aloof woman beside him, "Annie, they have that Belgian dark beer you like. Care for a taste?"
"Sure! It’s been so long since I last had a drink!" A mesmerizing smile appeared on Annie’s exquisite face. She took off her hat, letting her dark red, curly hair cascade down her shoulders. Smoothing it slightly, the hair perfectly complemented her elegant white dress, making her look exceptionally charming and enchanting.
Seeing the refined man’s inquiring look, Qi immediately answered, "Director Lin, I’ll have a Belching Beaver."
Director Lin was Qi’s immediate superior. They worked at a company called Lehan Entertainment Culture Co., Ltd., overseeing the music division. Tonight, after Qi saw the message sent by Pharmaceutical Factory, she remembered that the music department was currently scouting for newcomers. She had casually mentioned to Director Lin that there was someone here with an excellent voice. She had only brought it up on a whim, never expecting the strict and fastidious Director Lin to actually agree to come.
Thus, Qi brought Director Lin and his D-list celebrity bestie to Pharmaceutical Factory, ready to enjoy a night of company-expensed consumption.
Director Lin instructed Gu, "We’ll start with this."
"Understood!" Gu smiled, nodded, and withdrew.
Before long, he walked back up carrying a large tray. "Sir, your two glasses of Belgian dark beer, and Sister Qi, your Belching Beaver. The snacks are on the house. Let me know if you need anything else; I’ll go get busy first."
Gu could tell these two customers were high-maintenance, so he opted for the simplest, most direct approach.
Qi picked up her glass with both hands. "Director Lin, thank you for always taking care of me at work. And Sister Annie, thank you for the delicious food you bring to the company every time you visit. A toast to you both!"
A faint smile touched Director Lin’s strict face as he raised his glass for a gentle clink.
Annie, the D-list celebrity, was a bit more socially adept. She took an elegant sip of her beer and said, "Qi, this place you found is quite nice. The alcohol is very authentic."
"Thank you, Sister Annie!" Qi took a large gulp to show her sincerity.
Afterward, the three engaged in idle chatter. Of course, it was mostly Director Lin and Sister Annie holding court with grandiose discussions, while Qi earnestly played the role of the devoted yes-woman beside her boss.
Time slowly ticked by. As eight o’clock approached, the atmosphere in the venue grew increasingly fervent. Everyone was anticipating a certain someone’s arrival.
Meanwhile, Su Yunzhou and Jiang Shiyue had finally found a parking spot near Pharmaceutical Factory.
It was truly embarrassing. The two had been stuck in traffic all the way to the vicinity, only to discover there wasn’t a single parking space in sight as they neared their destination. Jiang Shiyue usually rode her Kawasaki Little Ninja, which she could basically just abandon by the entrance without a second thought. She had absolutely no concept of parking a car. Thus, at Jiang Shiyue’s suggestion, the two had foolishly driven in circles around Pharmaceutical Factory.
Just like that, they wasted nearly half an hour before securing a spot.
Seeing that it was already 7:50, Jiang Shiyue glanced at her phone, which was buzzing nonstop with messages. She jumped out of the car and dragged Su Yunzhou forward in a mad dash.
"Are we really in that much of a rush?" Su Yunzhou asked. "It’ll take ten minutes just to run over there."
"Do you know how to ride a shared bike?" she asked, already moving. "Charge!"
