Two Realms: I Will Become the Immortal Emperor
Chapter 554: The Butcher from Jinyun Valley
Chapter 554 -518: The Butcher from Jinyun Valley
The wind scoured the heavens, its presence as fierce as a tiger devouring the landscape.
Dust and sand billowed into a thousand-layered wave, surging between the two men.
The instant Chen Che beckoned, the already oppressive atmosphere seemed to freeze solid. Jiang Shaotian, his face grim, turned instantly cold. Without another word, he clenched his fist, and a silver Long Spear materialized in his grasp:
BOOM—
Before the crowd could even get a clear look at the spear, Jiang Shaotian had already struck out in fury.
Power erupted from his body as his muscles tensed to their absolute limit. His form went taut from head to toe, like a drawn Longbow, and the Battle Spear in his hand was the nocked Fury Arrow, ready to be loosed! As the Long Spear tore through the air, it produced a piercing sonic boom, its tip blazing with the light of a falling star!
The might of this one thrust was terrifying.
It even surpassed the-speed that some Golden Core cultivators could track with the naked eye!
It was a swift wind, a bolt of lightning tearing through the sky, a clap of roaring thunder!
‘Is this the true power of the Star-Picking Sect’s Right Protector?’
The pupils of many present contracted. Had they been the target, they would have been skewered in an instant.
‘Can he block it?’
All eyes involuntarily turned toward Chen Che.
Having witnessed Chen Che slay Qu Ming, no one dared to underestimate this young Valley Master. They saw him standing in place as he simply flicked a finger. The motion was like a pebble dropping into water, and the coalescing Sword Ring was like ripples spreading across the surface.
CLANG—
A deafening crash resounded. The crowd covered their ears in horror, and as they looked up, they saw the ground before Chen Che shatter inch by inch.
The speeding Long Spear slammed into the Sword Shield. After only a split second, it was sent spinning away amidst a shower of sparks. With a soft THUD, as if piercing tofu, more than half of the spear’s shaft plunged into the ground.
Yet Jiang Shaotian, high on the tower, was unfazed by this sight. Instead, he launched eight more Long Spears in quick succession, all seemingly at once, clearly intending to overwhelm with numbers.
“Right Protector, surely this isn’t the extent of your power.”
Such an offensive might have worked on others, but it was utterly ineffective against Chen Che. His face emotionless, he simply swept his hand in a gesture that could fell an army.
SHIIING—
The crowd saw but a fleeting arc of sword light. Then, countless Flying Swords fanned out before Chen Che as swiftly as a peacock unfurling its tail. The very air, shattered by their sharp edges, became a white mist like willow catkins that billowed outward from him, sweeping away all in its path.
The white mist of the Sword Ring was like a personal sword domain, controlling the space before him.
THUD! THUD! THUD…
A rapid series of thuds echoed as the intercepted Long Spears were sent spinning, planting themselves heavily into the ground.
“How can a floating weed comprehend the vastness of the Jinghai? Take a look around you…”
Only then did Jiang Shaotian offer a cold reply.
‘What’s wrong with our surroundings?’
Sensing that something was amiss, everyone hurriedly looked around.
They saw it instantly: the nine Battle Spears that had been knocked away were now all planted in the ground, each one emitting faint arcs of electricity. The other end of these arcs stretched upward, disappearing into a bank of clouds that had appeared in the sky at some unknown point.
Within the roiling clouds, countless Thunder Pythons could be seen slithering.
“You’ve fallen for it!”
Jiang Shaotian’s gaze sharpened as he suddenly clenched his fist.
KRAKOOM—
Countless serpents of lightning rapidly intertwined, converging into a colossal Thunder Dragon. Without a moment’s pause, it tore across thousands of feet of open sky and slammed down onto the ground.
BOOM!
A massive, visible shockwave erupted outward. In its wake, surrounding houses and towers crumbled instantly to dust. Amidst the exploding debris, hundreds of broken Flying Swords were sent scattering as well.
This bolt of Celestial Thunder had actually shattered the Sword Shield. On the ground, countless more serpents of lightning continued to spread outward.
‘An Array?’
Chen Che pushed his Ruyi Wind Thunder Step to its absolute limit.
His Divine Sense swept out, and only then did he realize it: the nine Long Spears he had blasted away with his Sword Shield had been deliberately scattered to various points within Primordial City, cleverly forming a Grand Array.
“Impressive!”
Jiang Shaotian grinned. He pressed down with his right hand, and as he spoke, several Thunder Dragons descended as one. “Valley Master Chen, I invite you to sample my Supreme Mysterious Nine Dragon Celestial Thunder Array!”
BOOM!
The descending Thunder Dragons then followed the swipe of his hand.
They moved like a calligraphy brush in a child’s hand, writhing chaotically across the ground. They left deep trenches and shattered stone in their wake, and the power they contained made the expressions of the onlooking Golden Core cultivators change drastically.
This ceaseless, terrifying thunder made them all recall the Thunder Tribulation they had faced during their own Core Formation.
It was even a measure stronger than the tribulations they had endured.
“You think you can escape?!”
Amidst the crashing lightning, Chen Che’s figure darted about like a shuttle. Though his movements seemed perilous, he always managed to evade the Thunder Dragons. Seeing this, Jiang Shaotian’s gaze turned colder. He flipped his hand over, revealing an exquisitely crafted Bronze Disc in his palm.
“Go!”
He tossed it with a flick of his wrist.
The Bronze Array Disc shot out, spinning up into the clouds. A series of CLICKS and CLACKS, like the sound of loosening gears, echoed as the Array Disc rapidly disassembled and scattered like building blocks, unleashing countless cascading Magic Patterns.
The Magic Patterns then began to swirl, gathering rings of cyan gales, each one forming a tornado. Every tornado was hundreds of feet long, resembling jade Cyan Dragons streaking through the air.
Even a Golden Core cultivator caught in the Grand Array would be instantly shredded to a pulp by these massive, cyan wind-dragons.
The Boundless Wind Travel Array Disc!
Of the several Array Discs he had refined, this was the most powerful. The Array it created could cover a hundred-mile radius, and the shifting winds within were all subject to his will.
