Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1869: Welcoming New Life 4
Upon hearing the hasty footsteps, the Morgan family turned to look, and Finn Morgan also turned his eyes.
When he saw his mother-in-law, Finn composed himself, "Mom." He removed his hand and greeted her first.
"Mother-in-law, Hailey has been in the delivery room for half an hour." Jasmine stood up from the chair and informed her of the situation.
As a fellow woman, especially as Hailey’s mother, Paige’s concern was no less than anyone else’s.
She held Jasmine’s hand, "Thank you so much for your hard work; you haven’t slept all night, have you?"
"This child is so considerate, she waited until this morning to say it." Jasmine also felt apologetic, "Fortunately, there was no incident."
The two started chatting, discussing the results of the last prenatal check-up, the fetal position, and Hailey’s condition before labor, to determine how long she might suffer.
"Whether childbirth is smooth also depends on physical condition. Some endure pain for three days and nights but can’t deliver, and ultimately need a C-section, suffering twice in a way."
"Hailey went directly into the delivery room, so I guess it’s time. Her cervix has already opened. If they need to perform surgery, we would need to sign, right? No one has informed us."
"Has it been half an hour?"
"Yes, there’s been no news; maybe she’s giving birth..."
At this moment, the tightly-closed delivery room door was opened from inside, and a midwife nurse came out.
Everyone waiting outside hurried up to her!
"Congratulations, a beautiful daughter was born, mother and daughter are safe. The delivery was quick; no episiotomy was needed, no stitches required. The baby is being dressed, six pounds, she’ll be out soon for everyone to see."
Upon hearing these words, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, followed by a rare joy on their faces.
"When can I see my wife?" Finn was a bit impatient, "Can I go in to see her?"
"Not yet," the nurse told him, "It will take about half an hour. The doctor is handling the placenta; she is a bit weak now, but it’s quite normal and she needs to rest."
"Alright, alright." Finn nodded in agreement, "Thank you all for your hard work."
"See you later." The nurse gave everyone a sweet smile, then turned around and went back inside, closing the door once again.
The people outside still waited, but the nervous and anxious feeling had significantly reduced.
On one hand, they worried about Hailey’s weakness; on the other hand, they were joyful.
"Mother-in-law, your daughter really worked hard." Jasmine said touchedly, holding Paige’s hand, "This child is truly strong. She has been reading books about natural childbirth, having contractions early but waited until the frequency increased to tell us."
"It’s good that it was natural childbirth. I was most worried about having to cut the stomach, which is truly suffering." Paige also finally felt at ease, "Is the baby’s name ready?" She asked, looking at Finn.
Finn answered happily, "Mom, the little one is named Erin Morgan, the meaning is clever and grateful."
"A good name, very nice." Paige gently called out twice, "Erin, Erin, it sounds so lovely."
She wanted to share this good news along with the name with the baby’s grandfather, who was still in prison.
Inside the delivery room, having finally completed labor, Hailey no longer had to endure the severe pain from contractions. The moment the baby separated from her body along with the amniotic fluid, she felt incredibly relieved.
Sweat still trickled from her forehead as the doctor helped her with the final procedures.
The baby’s crying became the most wonderful sound in the delivery room, loud and magical with each note.
The nurse gently wiped the baby’s blood stains, preparing a small outfit nearby.
Hailey tilted her head slightly, her joyful gaze falling on that tiny figure—so small, so small, with a tiny face, tiny hands, tiny feet, like a little kitten.
Life is truly miraculous.
Although she experienced pain and felt physically exhausted, almost like she was drained, the happiness that surged within her was incomparable to even the moment of putting on a wedding dress.
This moment, she felt so great, as if the air itself was filled with happiness.
