Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1857: The General’s Deep Concern for His Daughter

  • Next Chapter

The General’s wife saw her daughter like this and was quite worried, quite hesitant, but only sighed and said nothing.

Let the daughter speak out?

But what good would it do to speak out?

The King and Queen have just married; they haven’t yet reached the stage where they’re tired of each other. Even though Lorelei’s laws allow polygamy, the King probably won’t agree to marry Winnie.

Bringing it up three or five years later might be possible, because feelings are always about preferring the new to the old.

General Vance heavy-heartedly stepped forward towards his daughter. He came up behind her, and his distracted daughter didn’t notice her father’s arrival.

Her mind was full of Louis’s image... He’s a doctor too... How charming is that?

"Nina."

The middle-aged man squatted beside the flowers and softly called his daughter’s name.

The girl slowly turned her eyes towards her father, drawing back her thoughts, "..."

"Nina, is there anything your father can help you with?" General Vance looked at his daughter with a kindly smile, full of love, "Want to talk to your father?"

Louis’s image overlapped again in her mind...

From the first sight of him to seeing him again at the wedding, the sense of security he gave, that irresistible charm, had deeply attracted her.

The girl just met her father’s gaze, thought of King Louis marrying someone else, and felt saddened, without answering.

But the father had already noticed at the wedding, he reached out to hold his daughter’s shoulder, asking with a smile, "You like the King, don’t you?"

Upon hearing the question, a long-lost sparkle appeared in the girl’s eyes.

She did not avoid the question but nodded, "Yes, he is like a light that shone into my life. From the first time I saw him, I felt a sincere joy. How could there be such a perfect person in the world?"

"Nina, is it that ever since King Louis returned, you haven’t had any thoughts of ending your life?" The father asked expectantly.

"Mm-hmm." Winnie nodded, feeling somewhat sad inside, "But he has a beloved woman, and I often feel sad."

"..." The father pulled his daughter up from the flowers, "If he were willing to marry you, would you want to marry him?"

"Of course." The girl thoughtlessly replied, still with brightness in her eyes, "If I could see him every day, I think I would be happy too. I miss him now, but I have no reason to find him."

"Leave it to your father. I will make it happen for you, okay?"

General Vance walked with his daughter towards the palace and said to her, "As long as Nina is happy, can live well, and find the courage to live again, I can go beg the old King."

"Would he agree?" The girl was anxious at heart. She was very kind and worried, reportedly very kind are those who suffer from depression.

General Vance, however, was somewhat certain, "I saved his life once. I’ve made great contributions to the royal family. Such a small request doesn’t break any law, he should agree. Don’t worry, leave it to your father."

After saying this, he handed his daughter over to his wife, "Winnie, you are the best!"

Finished, he turned around and left.

Watching her father’s departing figure, Winnie, long in the dark, seemed to see a ray of hope.

"Nina, prepare to be a Princess consort." Her mother hugged her, "From now on, live well, and never have thoughts of ending your life."

General Vance intended to talk to the old King about this matter. For his daughter, he dared to ask any favor with the old King; he would plead with the old King if only he would agree!
