Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1855: Not Gossiping, Just Curious
Watching the girl as she desperately tries to sell herself, Anton Miller furrows his brow slightly, scrutinizing her, "How old are you? Already thinking of giving up?"
"I really like you," the girl confessed forcibly, "The kind of like where I felt it at first sight."
But the man was blunt, "You’re not my type."
"I don’t need your affection. I never thought about having a long-lasting relationship and marrying you. I just want a simple romance with you."
The girl lay bare her thoughts.
Anton Miller’s eyes narrowed, and he sat down on the sofa, "Didn’t your mom teach you the right outlook on life? If she knew you say these things at such a young age, do you think she’d slap you?"
The man crossed his legs, glancing sideways at her, "Any relationship should be based on equality and willingness, but you’re clinging, clinging and yet rejected."
As the words fell, a sharp gaze shot toward her, "Take the money and leave now!"
The look scared the girl into trembling, "Sorry to have bothered you." With the money already in her bag, she quickly turned to leave.
In Anton Miller’s eyes, he’s seen many girls like her!
No matter how young or fresh they seem, he couldn’t muster any interest, because it’s an uninteresting soul.
He’s dated countless girlfriends, simply out of boredom, but very few could genuinely share his bed.
Anton Miller has very high standards for himself in this regard, not merely to satisfy lust, for he’s... been emotionally scarred.
No matter how many women he encounters, a place in his heart remains reserved for his past love.
Each time he thinks of this girl, an aching pain gnaws at his heart, leaving him unsettled for a long time.
Just then, his phone rang, snapping him back to reality. He checked the caller ID and quickly picked up, "Hey, brother."
"Coming over for lunch? My wife and I are back, and there’s something we need to discuss," Justin Kingston’s voice came through.
"Alright."
Anton Miller happened to be free today, so he promptly drove to Emerald Cove.
The lunch was lavish; the kids were gone, leaving just Justin, Mia, and Anton, and through extended interactions, their relationship had already become quite good.
In the modern styled dining room, the crystal chandelier emitted a soft glow while sunlight streamed through the windows, bringing tranquility to the room.
Justin opened a bottle of ’82 Lafite, asking seemingly casually, "Anton, do you still plan on accepting roles in TV dramas? Playing the leading man as before?"
Anton Miller sat at the dining chair, grasping chopsticks while picking dishes, "Not anymore."
"Why? Even if the pay is high?"
Anton Miller looked up, "Do you think I’m short of money? I don’t want to act anymore."
Justin didn’t insist immediately; he poured him a glass and asked with a friend’s tone, "Anton, have you ever been in a serious relationship?"
Though seemingly a simple question, it stirred ripples in Anton Miller’s heart; he glanced at him, not answering directly.
"When was your first love?" Justin sat opposite him, asking while observing his expression.
Anton Miller frowned, "Since when did you get so nosy?"
"Not nosy, just curious." Justin’s tone was gentle, not pushing because he had already reached a conclusion – there surely exists a past love.
As long as there is, he would find out, perhaps the key to curing Anton Miller’s promiscuous heart lies with that person.
