Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1796: Janelle’s Cleverness
She cautiously glanced toward the door, her heart racing with excitement as she quickly opened the photo album—it was like discovering a treasure trove, with picture after picture of the two of them!
There were wedding photos, casual daily photos, some taken in summer and others in winter—there were at least dozens of them.
Janelle couldn’t be more thrilled; she was so excited that her heart felt as if it would leap out of her chest!
She hurriedly forwarded each photo to her QQ account, her actions swift and efficient. Watching as her phone, muted, successfully received each photo, a smile appeared on her face.
Once she had forwarded all those dozens of photos, she deleted the record in Old Mills’ chat window, achieving true secrecy.
Janelle walked out of the room; just as she handed the phone back to her father, it rang.
Nathan Mills glanced at the caller ID, stood up, and answered, "Hello, Minister Miller." His tone was gentle, and his face was adorned with a smile.
He listened attentively to what the other party said, while both women directed their gaze towards his face, watching him nod and say, "Alright, you’re here, right? I’ll be right over; sounds good, see you in a bit."
Ending the call, Nathan Mills turned to tell the mother and daughter, "Well...I need to head back to the company for a bit, Janelle, stay here with your mom for a while."
"Sure, go ahead." Janelle was very understanding.
Old Mills glanced at Carlotta Sterling, "Shall I go?"
"Go on, go on!" Carlotta Sterling waved her hand at him.
The middle-aged man turned and left; as soon as he was out the door, he headed towards the elevator, flipping through the call log. Huh? Odd, Janelle hadn’t called Trevor earlier.
So why did she use his phone? Why was she hiding in the room next door with the door closed?
Entering the elevator, Nathan Mills checked the phone thoroughly but found nothing unusual.
In the hospital room, Janelle sent the photos she had just received one by one to Trevor, while chatting with Carlotta Sterling.
"Sister Sterling, are you feeling better now?" she casually asked, trying to distract her.
"Much better, though my head occasionally feels a bit dizzy. I asked the doctor today, and he said it’s normal; with a few more days on medication, it’ll improve a lot."
"I have some good news to share with you—Dr. Shelby has returned to the country."
Janelle smiled, sitting in a chair by the bed, transmitting photos with her phone while talking to her, "Once he’s finished handling personal matters, he’ll come to the hospital. Then we can ask him for a diagnosis; following his prescriptions might lead to a quicker discharge."
"Your father told me that he’s now the King of Lorelei?" Carlotta Sterling was quite shocked, "Is that really true?"
"The news has reported it; it’s true. He was the prince of that country and has returned to inherit the throne."
The girl responded, and within less than a minute, all photos had been sent.
Trevor replied with two words: Received.
She delightedly put away her phone, then leaned forward to hold Carlotta Sterling’s hand, "Isn’t it amazing? Becoming a king, yet still caring about patients? He still wants to continue being a doctor, and it’s said he inherited not just the throne but $40 billion in personal wealth."
"Truly a breath of fresh air." Carlotta Sterling was quite moved, "Such an enormous amount of money, you couldn’t spend it all in a hundred lifetimes."
Janelle smiled, toying with the red wrist cord on her mother’s wrist, "The day you get discharged will certainly be the most wonderful day of this year."
"I know you’re all waiting for me to recover." Carlotta Sterling reached out and caressed her daughter’s face, "This body of mine is quite strong, feeling better day by day, so you can go ahead and start preparing for the wedding."
Janelle gave her a sweet, happy smile.
The mother and daughter chatted away, the atmosphere harmonious and sweet.
Actually, Trevor was in a café at that moment, together with Henry Miller, the wedding planning director, as they discussed the details of the upcoming wedding ceremony.
(Sorry, the author is quite busy today; I’ll try to update more starting tomorrow.)
