Chapter 366: He decided to try something else.

The Archdemon waved his hand and before Lucian could react—

BOOOOOOM

The ground beneath him exploded.

Only this time, Lucian knew what was coming, so the moment the ground exploded, Lucian had already pushed himself in a different direction. The explosion failed to affect him, that, however, didn’t mean he was uninjured.

Lucian had taken a direct punch.

And because the amount of energy used was so massive, his chest had actually caved in, he could feel that many of his ribs had shattered.

Just that...

The moment he balanced himself in the air, all those injuries healed again.

’This really is absurd.’

Even Lucian was surprised.

His regeneration really had improved to an entirely different level.

Then, his senses caught something else. The massive cluster of energy he was sensing all the time, it was no longer where it was before.

It was now directly above him.

Lucian looked up.

BOOOOOOM

Neroth attacked as a ridiculous amount of Darkness moved towards him, exploding on direct contact. Lucian didn’t even have the time to form a barrier.

Smoke and debris covered the entire area, that, however, didn’t stop Neroth. He kept firing the same attack over and over again.

BOOOOM BOOOOM BOOOOM

Explosion after explosion, more and more smoke and debris gathered, then—

FWOOOSH

Something shot out of the smoke.

It was Lucian and his burned body was already healing.

"...this really is absurd.

It is as if I can’t lose!"

He laughed out loud.

"You find this amusing?"

Neroth’s expression darkened.

Lucian looked at him, then—

"A little."

He nodded.

Neroth’s face darkened even more, he raised both his hands and dozens of black spheres formed around him.

"Oh."

Lucian’s smile faded.

The spheres moved towards him one after the other.

And in this scenario, Lucian had the brilliant idea to dodge the attack, knowing exactly how weak his control over his body was.

FWOOOOOSH

He flew, successfully dodging the first attack. Then, he stopped himself, once again hanging in the air like before.

Only this time, he didn’t stop.

He ignored the telekinetic forces around him and used an even stronger one to move.

His body was now being pulled in three different directions, out of which, one pull was much stronger and it made his body move in that particular direction.

That movement made his body jerk.

The second sphere almost hit him, then, he moved up, leaving more and more air explosions in his wake.

Just then—

One of Neroth’s spheres touched his shoulder.

"...fuck!"

He groaned in pain as his entire arm disappeared.

But he didn’t stop, because the next sphere was coming.

He moved, then, another sphere came from a different direction, this time, Lucian gave up dodging and formed a barrier instead.

BOOOOOOM

Lucian hissed.

The sphere exploded. Then, Lucian sensed another coming from behind, he formed another barrier.

BOOOOOOM

He blocked again.

Only this time, there was a problem, with two barriers, most of his vision of the battlefield was blocked.

Neroth formed a few more spheres, they came from different directions. Lucian, now stuck at one point, continued forming thick walls of barriers.

Then—

Because of his blocked vision, one of the spheres managed to move past his walls and take him by surprise.

Lucian tried moving, he didn’t have the time.

BOOOOOOM

The attack connected, half of his torso disappeared that instant. The impact made his body spin uncontrollably in the air, blood scattered everywhere like a fountain.

And before he even stopped spinning, his body began regenerating.

His ribs formed, then his arm, bones, veins, muscles, fibers, flesh, everything came one after the other.

There was just one thing.

Even though he did recover, the problem was the same.

Neroth had too much time, he had formed way too many spheres and the way he was now, he couldn’t really block them all.

He kept dodging as many as he could but once again—

BOOOOOOM

Another attack connected.

Now, it became much clearer.

Lucian stared at Neroth.

Neroth looked back at him.

And Lucian could tell what was happening. Neroth wasn’t just throwing the spheres randomly, every attack was pushing Lucian towards another and every time he overcorrected, another sphere was waiting for him.

Neroth was... reading him.

A few seconds of observation was all it took for the Archdemon to notice how he moved and how he could use that to his advantage.

’That’s annoying.’

Lucian was irritated.

But at the same time, he also understood it. Neroth wasn’t one of the ordinary people he fought before, he was an Archdemon who had existed for who knew how long.

Even if he was trapped inside an unideal body, his experience was still there. He could notice things most warriors couldn’t, find patterns others would take hours to find in a matter of seconds.

And Lucian—

He was a mess. He could barely turn left without accidentally crossing half the battlefield.

He saw another sphere rushing towards him, Lucian moved and once again, he moved too far, just like Neroth predicted.

’This isn’t working.’

Lucian’s face turned solemn.

He stopped or at least, he tried to.

But once again, two opposing telekinetic forces slowed his body. Lucian added another force and this time, it backfired.

His body rotated mid-air.

"Fuck."

He cursed again.

The sphere arrived, moving right towards his face.

He formed a barrier at the last second.

BOOOOOM

He barely blocked the attack.

The heat, however, threw him away and Lucian...

He barely used telekinesis to stop himself from falling on the ground, which currently was no different than a land mine.

’...how is every single one of his attacks so powerful?’

He wondered.

Not that it mattered right now, what mattered was... control.

He needed to control his movements, or else he would never win.

So Lucian started thinking.

All this while, he used it like he always imagined. Push, pull, grab, throw. If he wanted to move forward, he would push himself forward, if he wanted to go back, he would pull himself back.

It worked before.

His Energy wasn’t as dense, so the output was manageable.

But now?

Now it was different.

Trying to move himself with one large telekinetic force was like trying to walk by detonating explosives beneath his feet.

So Lucian—

He decided to try something else.
